I really appreciate how you show your thought process and then also analyze when and why it’s wrong. It’s way more instructive than someone just listing off all the best moves
You and Yasser are some of the best teachers out there. You got me from 1250 to 1340 and Yasser got me from 1340 to a max of 1376
I am so grateful to have found your channel. I think you are one of the best teachers if not the best on youtube.
In chess
He is the best
What about levi a.k.a gotham chess
i feel he has a unique style of teaching that i also like
@@theonewhoasked513 personally i learn more here as compared to levi
I was so sad when I said rook e6 and then you talked about the sac.
At least stock fish gave me some consolation. Great video as always.
For sure a lot of respect for Nick man he does not go on rants.. no bs. just facts. And opinions.
There are so many UA-cam channel teaching chess.. But I don't think anyone can beat yours.. You are the best.. Keep rocking
Nelson you are my newest favorite chess channel. I like how you show not juts the best moves but also normal moves people play on instinct. I'm a 1800 but I keep making blunders or inaccuracies and it makes me feel better to know we are not machines
Thank you Nelson 👍
You just made me understand what a mating net is. Most appreciated.
I'm so close (to being a decent chess player) . . it hurts.
A great reminder. Nelson. If you don't have an immediate mate, don't let the king escape. I have let enough kings escape in my day. It is a sick feeling.
Nelson being funny without rpobably realising it ~ -"Some of white pieces are kind of like...I am not really sure what they are doing over there" 2:23
at 3:38 you shouldn't have taken with queen but you should have played rook Rxc7 which is a fork on king and queen.
anyways good game
Yeah I’m curious about why this wasn’t better. Have you analyzed this?
Thx for a lessons keep it
Great video, Your chess teachings are always in-depth. Thanks Nelson.
8:56 I love how the rook flies to f2.
Star moves are meant to be powerful, so it was appropriate

i love your videos, get with the good work
This one was really nice
I like your move better than what stockfish suggested because you got checkmate out of it. Computers are only so good at suggesting moves, but if a move wins a game it's definitely the best move! We are not computers that can't make mistakes, we are human beings, individuals, who make mistakes, and are not as perfect as a computer. Therefore when we get a result that ends in checkmate, it's better than what the computer did, because we made a few mistakes yet compensated for it, and still won the game.
Thanks for the video, Nelson! It was really instructive.
At 8:41, I was fairly sure the move was Nf4. It cuts off both of King's escape squares (e2 and d3), and it prevents Qd5+. However, it shuts down your rook, so I guess another Queen move by White would free up the d2 square, so the King does escape.
3:54 - Does knight to c5 lead to anything good for black?
4:51 I would have checked with knight moving to black square next to king. Then mate or, if king moved to white square next to his queen, I would check and then take queen with my rook. Or I could be wrong. I'm still learning
*My knight move to black square beside queen.
Interesting point-of-view!
Only thing I would add is you should always be looking for pins/forks too! :)
Exactly what I needed!😎
Fantastic vid!
6:59 Rook f2, defended by knight and queen, white qeen goes d3, black queen f4 mate, am i missing something?
Great video, as always. Can you suggest a solid opening for black to a 1000 rated player? I want to become a more solid player and I don't want to rely on dubious gambits when i play with black
i actually planned rook f2 then after you played horse f2 i thought maybe rook f2 was a blunder.😅 after all you said stock fish suggest rook f2 was better my mind completely blown away.
i thought the knight to f4 then the queen to h3 and eventually black gets white's queen and check mate. maybe, it could happen.
Yeah his explanation is good
When u are 1200 and u saw the best move right away just cuz its less complicated XD (hikaro vibes)
That red is spreading back there
I.like your videos,because i learn something new evry video😃

8:53 I knew it had to be Rf2 but I couldn't see a good continuation, 1...Rf2 2. Qd3?? 3. Qf4# //2. Qc3 Qf4+ 3. Kd3 Rf3+ skewer the queen // 2. Qd1 Qf4+ 3. Kd3 there's a free bishop in that case but that's all I saw, then after remembering Qd5+ and considering Re2 after Rf2 I gave up and unpaused the video
Dope
stay sharp, play smart

Hey i got a game that was wierd but interesting
I thought queen e4 would have ended the game
A certain clickbait goggleface recently had a video titled I QUIT CHESS but with Nelson, there's no clickbait. It's all real. Thanks, man!
I thought queen G5 was better pinning the queen. 🤔
Thank you for the heart! Just trying to play sharp. ❤♟

Hello Nelson. I’ve got this endgame where we’re even on material. We have a rook and a bishop each. The problem is that the bishops are on opposite colored squares. If you could make a video about what to do with opposite colored bishop endgames that would be super sweet. Thank you sensei
