That's the real thing about this episode, and if we look closely, we may find multiple clues to version, that whole season was orchestrated by Sauron, and the main instrument in that composition was Galadriel.

5:39 Lore wise it would make the most sense if he'd be on of the blue wizzards. There were 5 Istari in total and 2 of them were blue. I think Gandalf only came to Middle-Earth in the 3rd age and not before that (in the 2nd age).
all signs point to him being Gandalf. They just took creative liberties and included characters that weren't here during that timeline because nostalgia. I mean shit, they have Isildur and Elendil in this show and completely forget that Galadriel is married.
One thing you have to remember about this show is that, other than a few names, it really has nothing to do with The Lord of the Rings or anything Tolkien wrote. If you can get by that, than have fun with what is basically middle-earth 90210.
When Galadriel refused Sauron, ´And that is why i will never be at your side´ it was almost exactly like the "Harbingers - Khadgar", when Khadgar refused the power of Legion - ´I have yearned for the legion to cringe before the fury i would unleash, and that is why i can never accept you offer´
I mean the Sauron reveal is a genuine twist *for the characters* because they don't have access to nearly as much information as we do, but it's something the audience can easily deduce because we *know* there has to be a Sauron reveal and we get a bunch of hints the characters aren't privy to. Kind of an odd pacing decision for The Rings of Power to spend so much time on the creation of Mordor and then 20 minutes on the creation of the Rings of Power.

The lore about the dragons (like Ancalagon the Black), Ungolian, the Balrogs of Morgoth, Morgoth and so on. It's more accurate than the actual Lotr lmao, the 20years search for Gollum, The eye, Horcrux being the ring. Boromir, Faramir, Sarumans death, no Bombadil. I could go on for a very long long time. What did ROP change? Gandalf being in the 2nd age? He's named Olorin in the 2nd age so this is more accurate than the supposed book readers like you thought.
Ugh. 🤦🏼♂️ As you said (23:45), how can a mere mortal know more than the centuries-old elves? What I find truly silly is the specific information he provides, and how it is somehow a revelation to *Celebrimbor.* I'm not even a jewler or a smithy, and yet even _I_ knew about the mixing of metals just as *Halbrand* described. 🙄 _Sheesh!_ I think you asked a question around the start as to whether or not certain predicted aspects would have been at all predictable if a viewer had no previous knowledge. IMO the answer to that would not only be _no,_ as there would likely not even be anything to predict, given their search for *Sauron* is _based on an expectation_ that there will be a *Sauron.* *EDIT:* Wtf? I thought they would at least _try_ to follow the lore when possible. So, why make *Elrond* an orphan?! 🤨 ··•●✺●•··

To hold fast to the beautiful truth of Professor Tolkien's lore, legends and story, and to get educated and spread the joy of him through the Tolkien-verse awash in schism. Let us cross swords together and do this!.
"Always follow your nose" this phrase isn't Tolkien thing this belongs to PJ adaptation. Those parts are included for PJ movie fans not toxic Tolkien book fans. The real story is that most of the people in this world would not even know who Tolkien is if not for Peter Jackson. Peter Jackson has taken permission to make movies from a person who previously had permission for the books from the Tolkien estate. If it does not happen in time, no one will know that such books exist. One day when Tolkien's greed cannot overcome the digitization of the modern world, those books will have to be eaten by the estate itself. I am very satisfied that a series like this has come true after many years. See you in the second season.
Without Jackson, people wouldn't know who *Tolkien* is? The author of not one, but two of the most best-selling books of all time? More than any of the Harry Potter books? Than Twilight? Than Game of Thrones, the book? Oh, yeah. No-one's ever heard of him. Completely obscure. Seriously, though, why do you think Jackson was so keen to make the movies? Because Tolkien's the GOAT, and everyone knows it.

The only people I've seen upset about it are the fundamentalist Tolkien fans who regard it as some kind of sacred text. What would stop the "division" would be if those people stopped whining and simply didn't watch it.
The rings of power is incredibly inaccurate for the actual lord of the rings. I just wanted to inform
🙄 _Sheesh!_
I think you asked a question around the start as to whether or not certain predicted aspects would have been at all predictable if a viewer had no previous knowledge. IMO the answer to that would not only be _no,_ as there would likely not even be anything to predict, given their search for *Sauron* is _based on an expectation_ that there will be a *Sauron.*
*EDIT:* Wtf? I thought they would at least _try_ to follow the lore when possible. So, why make *Elrond* an orphan?! 🤨

It's a shame, Mor"mazon" has equavalently sacked the literary Osgiliath equivalent of Professor Tolkien's lore and story with season one, it is a descration of "history of the elvish speaking tongues..Get ready for a long 6 years or, ride out and meet them, the corporate machine theyocracy may have its skinny cow for now, but as we have defined on our channel in Exsurge Tolkien, now is the time to raise the beacons of Tolkien Orthodoxy and stand ready to reject any further support of ROP. To hold fast to the beautiful truth of Professor Tolkien's lore, legends and story, and to get educated and spread the joy of him through the Tolkien-verse awash in schism. Let us cross swords together and do this!.
I'll say this season ended on more of a fizzle than a high note. I'm curious about the next season but I'm not eagerly awaiting it.
I am not sure how anything in that finale could be called a fizzle.
@@dutchkel agreed, there is plenty to critic about the show but the ending was a solid landing.
Will without a doubt go down as the biggest financial failure of tv/movie history and rightly so much like D&D with GoT this should end the incompetent and arrogant writers careers taking such liberties with the story telling and lore told by arguably the greatest story teller of all time J.R.R.Tolkein also its hard to believe these are the same people that gave such excellent reviews of breaking bad and better call saul eating up this garbage like clueless normies 🙄
Oh get a grip
Great show if you look at it without any prejudice.
ROP is so fucking bad and has no basis in the actual lore of LOTR. =\
So basically if galadreil would have excepted to be with helbrand, he would never become evil and would heal the world instead. But she refused and basically all happened in hobbit and lotr is her fault ? Lol
It feels the show wanted to tell us that halbrand meant good and had good purposes at first but then he returned to darkness cuz galadriel rejected to be her hoe
Not at all. He’s called “Sauron the Deceiver” for a reason.
You forgot to react to one important anime series: Naruto Shippuden
