MantaMeasure - How Big is That Manta Ray?

Scientists have worked out a cost effective way to measure marine creatures using a drone and a piece of pipe. This tells us how large the animal is and contributes to our understanding of the population health. Oceanic manta rays are declining globally, so this innovation by Conservation International’s Mark Erdmann and PhD student, Edy Setyawan is a vital and practical way to get the data we need to inform conservation management plans.
