Gene is the most intriguing person on UA-cam, He makes me feel like I don't know how to talk in front of the camera. Nothing beats his camera and filming gear reviews. I love this guy!
I literally never comment on UA-cam videos but I had to because you were so extremely helpful. Thank you for this excellent detailed and interactive explanation. Life-saver.
Thanks for the video, I have been searching for 3 days to complete my project but could not found a single video to help me out with the full workflow. This is the best video of all that guided me and made my day. Thanks GENE
What really made me laugh is when gene, at 13:50, you can hear him do a 360 as he says “they can watch the truck go around”....even though we can’t see him😂
PJ - you're just so comfortable to watch, and besides, how do you learn all this stuff? You review so many things in such a short period of time, and the sense is that you've exhausted the possibilities of discovery about the product, which you then share w/ us. THANK YOU MAN! And I really like the people, your friends and colleagues, et al, that you share w/ us. You're a standup human being.
Not gonna lie, I don't want Potato Jet to blow up because I will feel less important D: But! I also wish Potato Jet to blow up because he FREAKING deserves it! Gene, if you're reading this, you are amazing!!! The way you talk is so casual and genuine, its just a comfort zone i can go to after a hard day. YOU KEEP ROCKING!!!! Love from Malaysia!!!
I've been looking for weeks on how to do a workflow for my 360 content, thank you Potato Jet! Love your channel and would love seeing more about VR, maybe how to work with the 360 content in after effects and maybe some of the things you can do in After Effects with it! Take care during these weird times man! 💪
The one that made me feel nauseous was the one where you repair the ISS in the Oculus. You have no gravity and float around with the earth below you. SO COOL. But almost made me barf.
Absolutely fantastic video, thank you so much for taking time to explain this! I just purchased a VR Oculus for gaming and I'm blown away buy it. For 2022 I'm thinking of adding VR riding videos to my channel, I just wonder how the speed would effect VR users, something i will need to experiment with. I think many viewers would love to feel like they are riding with me along the country side in the UK! thanks again you have helped massively. Nick
Cant believe 21mins jus flew! And so much info and wordcount. hahahaha. 360 cams would be so great to relive moments n great tips. tq Gene for always keeping e high entertainment value for tech reviews. Always my go-to and also tq for e inspiration
Wow, what a great, interesting UA-cam channel and I love the energy! I thought I was going to see how to cover up ME at the bottom of the 360 but alas I did not. But I learned a of other cool and useful stuff. Perfect for me, the Jaxxx of all but master of none, yet. Thank you so much!
Holy smokes! My head exploded after 14 min. Lots of good info. Just couldn't make it though the entire video...it was a valiant effort on my part...Hope you got the humor. 😂😂😂
I appreciate your dedication, knowledge, personable-ness, and genuinely proactive thoughtfulness with this video! As a current tutor, I am glad to see how you teach!
Finally somebody doing decent 360 video for VR viewing. Other 360 cameras have been around for a while but most UA-cam vids have been for UA-cam flat screen viewing. BTW you can use Oculus Go to view which has been out for a while, is cheaper and can find it in stock.
This is awesome! Great workflow! I have loved the idea of a 360 camera, but the post-production always looked so daunting. I'll have to rethink one for this year. Thanks!
One of the things we do in VR games when we do make an 'edit' (i.e. jump the viewers location) is to bring a fade in from the top and botom of the screen which sort of simulates eylids closing and opening.
I do lots of 360 and VR mostly for digital tours for our university. What I like about VR is that you can be literally (digitally?) be walking with the one holding the camera. For instance, you can go walk on the beach or a gallery and the one wearing the headset is just like there. walking beside you.
I just wanted to say thanks! for all your tutorial videos. If I don't understand something about videography your the go-to channel for my solution. YODA is what my son calls you.
Excellent video! I had assumed the editing process for 360/VR videos would have been excruciating. You really simplified & relayed the process in such a way to make it less intimidating to a beginner. Much thanks 🙏🏼💯
Damn. That was really cool of you bro, I want friends like potato jet 🤣. Nah but seriously that was a dope thing you did for your friends, both the gift and the thought that went into it. 💯🙌
This was great! Is it just me or would anyone else be keen to see how Gene edits the 360 footage he shoots in his travel videos for those of us who don't ever use VR??
Awesome videos. Got a new subscriber. One idea for placement of the camera is to suspend it from the ceiling with a table under it so people don’t bump into it. Maybe with a punch bowl in the middle? 😁
You should do some Z-Cam reviews! They have great 360 cameras like the S1 or the V1 (stereoscopic!). Plus they have a budget cinema camera offering too (the E2).
Thank you Mr. Potato Jet! Your videos are great! I love this camera and can't wait to get one to try different techniques for my channel in Alaska. Thank you again for the inspiration and uplifting videos you provide to your UA-cam Peeps! Looking forward to your next episode!
Great video! However, editing mono VR video is quite a bit easier in FCPX and you’ll see much better render times on a laptop for exporting! The FCP user manual is an excellent resource to learn how. For most laptop users, you’re going to have a tough time rendering video.
Hey Gene, will you review the new Fujifilm xt4? It is great for videomaking: 4k 60p at 10bit, 422 external recording 400mbps. Or 1080p 240p for super slowmo. And now it has a flip screen and IBIS!
@@pietroalessandrini Plenty of great lenses for gh5 to create more then enough shallow DOF and bring the same light as a 2.8 aperture FF lens, OFC you cant get 1.4 FF look but maybe close 1.8FF with M43 Voigtlander lenses at f0.95.. other than that m43 is pref over FF and APSC cause smaller faster and effecient
In response to the comments at the end of the video, I've been using the Sony AX700 camcorder for my travel video since 2017. It's awesome and very rugged,.1" sensor, 4K 20x zoom and 12 Mo photos capability.
Amazing video. I just bought the Insta360 one r. I watched some tutorials on the insta website and I thought the only ways to edit were via smartphone, computer app or using the gopro reframe plug-in in premiere. Didn't know there were native vr effects in premiere. Thanks!

I’d put two shoes at the base of the tripod for when people look down
That but for 360 drone shots
LOL, Tha's Genius man
thats clever...i was actually thinking about a way to make it see more "i'm there" and i think that would do it! Good input bro!
Haha genius! Definitely gonna try that out!
1. Start the video
2. Put on headset
3. Turn backwards 180 degree
4. Look down

Hey,
With all of your tricks and Videos I learned very much and finally made my first 3 Videos with Adobe and my new Camera.

That C500 mk2 footage is sick !!!
Great tutorial! This was precisely what I needed to edit and export my first VR footage from the GoPro Max360 I recently purchased. Thank you.
