While your doing an outstanding representation of narrowboats you are also inadvertently doing something even more important. You are representing to the general public something that they are both unexposed to and uncomfortable with homosexuality. Considering the stereotypical image of being gay your representation of being normal humans who just happen to love the same sex as themselves makes heterosexuals realize other than that consideration your as normal as them. As a couple you have shown in this episode that you both have had to handle the hurdles and tribulations so called normal couples do without once waving the rainbow flag. You have proven that who you love doesn’t make you any different than other humans. You laugh and suffer the same issues as everyone else. You have repeatedly shown that your lifestyle is not a threat or even that different to the rest of society in general. I happen to live in an area with the largest representation of gay culture in the Northeast. Early on growing up I learned that gay culture wasn’t a threat to my heterosexual standing in fact if anything they improved my life by opening my mind to different variations and viewpoints. That is something you have also provided the simple fact that normal has nothing to do with race, color, creed, or sexual preference and has everything to do with being a caring loving human. For educating my peers and the general close minded public I thank you for that. Mainly because it about time we humans understand the only thing about us we all have in common is none of us are normal!
This comment reduced me to tears (in a nice way).
Thank you so much 💜
Very well put 👏
Couldn’t have put it better … love is love no matter what colour, creed or sexuality 🌈👨❤️👨
Well said.
Well said!
I'm not gay and I don't really care about narrow boats.I'm sitting on the top of a mountain in Colorado and have watched you guys for a couple of years because your great people and I enjoyed your story.
Thanks so much, James. Enjoy Colorado!
Me too James. Colin and Shaun make me giggle and everyone needs a really good giggle. Thanks Guys xxx
Hi Colin and Shaun, beautiful video! You are such wonderful people, I loved this so very much! Thank you for sharing so much of yourselves with us! Take really good care of yourselves, stay safe! Please give Otis a big cuddle for me! 💖Much love Kathy x
Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you so much xxx
This has to be one of your best episodes so far. The editing with the musical interludes and scenic shots was fabulous! You gents really are getting better and better. Best wishes from Central Michigan!
Yay, thank you!
We just love you two, laughs all the way when you were telling the story of how you meet and got upto. Another great vlog from you.
Thanks Phil!
I was in tears before the four minute mark 🤣
Life on the cut is definitely in my future. Got a few things I have to take care of on dry land for now but in the future it's a guarantee. No wife or kids at the moment and no plans for settling down any time soon, if not ever. Just want my little boat, 35ft would do, a nice local marina to hunker down in for the winters, a little camper van so I can explore Scotland with my dog. One man and his dog vs the world. Sod all that 9-5 stacking shelves after the school run crap.
Well said!
Thank you for discussing mental illness in your vlogs. It has helped me deal with mental illness in my family. Ps are you going to give us a hint of your new adventures during the week, or keeping us in suspenders until Friday?
You'll find out soon 😉
Hi Colin and Shaun, not forgetting Otis.
I'm just trying to catch up with several different people's vlogs.
Sorry I'm late, Dave my husband ( who first got me watching these vlogs with him), died suddenly and unexpectedly on the 4th October. I'm still in shock about everything, but I know he would want me to carry on watching you . We were in the process of moving house from Euxton Chorley Lancashire to near Middlewich in Cheshire to be near our son and his family. I'm still carrying on with the move as we chose the place together. Anyway I'm watching the one on how you both met. Take care 💙💙🐾
OMG I'm so so sorry to hear of your loss. Sending load of hugs and love your way ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@FoxesAfloat Thank you both of you. He was taking the bins out and I thought he was a long time, when I looked out of the front window I saw him lying near the hedge in the front garden. Grabbed my phone and went out to him, called the ambulance and I started chest compressions, neighbour's came to help and asked one to run round to the Dr's, only round the corner, the Dr came with a defib ,shortly afterwards the paramedics came then the ambulance. I knew he had gone , but I had to try. Sorry didn't intend to unload on you.
Bless you both. Sue 💙💙🐾
Thanks for sharing your life story guys. 29 years is incredible. Love it that you didn’t make it all sound perfect and your philosophy on life bears copying. ❤️
Thanks so much!!
Loved this episode! Your journey, your love and support for each other, your humour & wit, and your openness about your mental well-being. Lots of love from some English/Aussie’s dreaming of a canal boat life.
Awww thank you, Sharon 🙏❤️
Super really enjoyed the video learning more about you both , looking forward to following the journey with the new boat ,thank you both for sharing a small side of your life with us all , 🤗
Our pleasure!
Thanks for sharing your history, putting the ‘guessing’ to rest. It’s sweet to understand your journeys in life, your journeys on the narrow boat(s). Bless You Both; much gratitude!
Thank you so much! 👍🏻💜
Lovely video! What a life you have led.
Still more adventures to come x
Thanks again gents for your pearls of wisdom and joy. Love from the Canadian Prairies.
Thank you x
My favorite video yet. Love watching you guys interact with each other!!
Yay! Thank you!
Hi guys so nice to hear from you and your story of your journey how you met and how you be became boaters also talking about metal health and how it effects others that are close to you as sometimes they are forgotten as well while trying to be there for that person you are right it never goes away but you learn how to deal with in you own way that helps you I have watched a lot of your vlogs really enjoy them about life on the canals and seeing Otis as well can’t wait for you to show us your new boat see you on the next on take care
Glad you enjoyed it xxxx
Two soul mates together for ever. Brilliant video. Many thanks from Chris and Jane 🏖
Aww, thanks guys! I hope you're enjoying Turkey! ☀️
@@FoxesAfloat thanks so much. We are loving Turkey. But we are missing narrow boat poppy 😢. Torn between two lovely places. Many thanks from Chris and Jane 🏖
I really enjoyed this week's Foxes Afloat, hearing your story and how you got where you are. I appreciate your honesty, and your humour. And the scenes from the canals and their surrounding which bring back memories of the English countryside, so very different from the Italian Alps where I live now! I look forward to the next episode.
Thanks Stephen!
I bloody love you guys! You just cheer me up no end! 1615 hr on a Friday is the best time, chills me out from a 💩’y week at work, top work, and Shauns facial expressions are as funny AF! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hehe! Thanks!
Love it when I hear "You can't say that".
Brilliant.
🤣
I had a wry smile on my face when you protested that you were only 8 years apart in age. I met the first great love of my life when I was 19 too. She was 47 years old and we were together for 30 years. Now I am in a Civil Partnership with a lovely guy who is quite a bit younger than me and we've been together for 12 years and counting. The only thing that matters is love - age differences just aren't important if there is love!
I agree with One Per's comments too - 100% - and if we were all "normal" wouldn't life be boring!??
Totally would 👍🏻
Honest, insightful and humorous .... a wonderful channel to watch, thank you.
Do you ever slip in a bloopers vlog?🤣
No, just at the end of videos xx
What a great couple you are, loved hearing about your story. You just seem so right together. Looking forward to seeing your future adventures with Silver Fox(no 2)
Thank you so much! 👍🏻💜
Wow, really enjoyed looking at the journey you've come.......wonderful photos of the amazing places your lives have taken you. Thank you for sharing it! Xx
Our pleasure, Caroline 💜
Really enjoyed this vlog....thank you. X
You’re welcome 😊
Love your vlogs x the videography is so blooming good, i really enjoyed your story and all i can say is love is love xx
Thank you so much!!
Fab as always. Comforting, inspirational and amusing - keep it up. Just come off a week on the South Oxford and I think I saw Portobello around Banbury - but then again my mind might be playing tricks - certainly one like it if not your old boat.
So cool!
Lovely to see a little more of the back story to the pair of you. Your frankness in discussing mental health is refreshing, and I hope that it will make others, particularly men who are often even more reluctant to talk about it, feel that it is ok to speak out, ask for help and recognise that life doesn’t always tick along smoothly. Looking forward to finding out more about the new adventures! Meanwhile, keep safe and happy cruising :)
Thanks so much, Maudie!
When my partner an I came across you guys you reinforced what it means to be normal. What also is so obvious on screen colin is the love in Sean’s eyes when he looks at you. You are a fabulous couple and an amazing team. What better people to show the world we are no different. Colins goofy style with Sean’s steady hand is magic. We love you guys. Fabulous guys keep going. Cheers Sean 🥂🥂🥂
WOW Thank you, awesome comments 🙏❤️
I haven't commented in quite awhile, but I've never missed a vlog episode of Foxes Afloat. This episode compels me to comment. Colin, your candid revelations about your ASD have made me so conscious of my own mental health - and I'm beyond grateful for that. I've often replayed the episode where you did your walking commentary on your ASD many, many times, even recommending it to others who I believe could benefit from your honesty.
Your content continues to entertain, inform and stimulate thought, and your presentation is impeccable. I'm looking forward to being introduced to your new vessel and expect to learn a lot as you make it the perfect narrowboat for the three of you. Cheers!
Tao
Thanks so much, Tao! Nice to hear from you again 👍🏻💜
I’m jealous of you guys being able to express all this nice words…I have a lot i would like to say also, but I am just at an awe and star struck that I don’t know where to begin. I just started watching and I’m jumping around, watching different episodes, like a kid in a candy store😂. My husband, the other day told me “close your mouth dear”😂
Susan
Very well said.
I loved that episode. I have decided that giving Shaun a hug is on my bucket list. You two are a perfect match. I would like to hear more about Shaun. God bless you both and Otis too ofcourse.
👍🏻
This is the most wonderful love story of all time, forget the fairy tales, the fables, Shakespeare, hollywood and the royal family. You two inspire us all to care for one another, accept one another and stick together no matter what.Thank you.
Awwww thank you, Lynne xxxxxx
I never delve into or question other's pasts or motives, I take people as they are, but when they want to share, then I find their stories and especially yours fascinating. A really enjoyable story today thank you. Always love the vlogs mixture of scenery and history, today of course the history was yours instead of the canal's. I love the comfortable relationship you guys have.
Thanks so much, Andy 👍🏻
Two handsome men and a beautiful sweet puppy! Thank you for your story. It is special. I am finally catching up on your vlogs. It's funny how life tends to get in the way of things you enjoy, like watching you three. Take care and hugs from British Columbia.
Aww thank you, Heather. You take care too x
Your best Vlog ever, even better than Tower Bridge and the launch of Silver Fox, love you guys.
WOW 🤩
Second that 😁
I came on to say the same thing. This was top notch.
Tower Bridge still my absolute favourite 😍. Would absolutely love to do that trip.
Well, this is a really great vlog…. But nothing beats Tower Bridge 🙃
Absolutely love this, especially all the pictures of you both from over years of being together. How perfect that the guy you both were seeing got kicked to the kerb and that now you both are together 👌🏻 it was meant to be 👌🏻 you are each other’s lobster 🦞 (sorry for the friend’s pun) 🤗
You guys are so inspirational and open. Love your little puns or jokes! Such an excellent way to unwind in the evenings. We looking to do this as our retirement. So much to consider and learn. Thank you gents...
Our pleasure!
Fascinating vlog Colin/Shaun. It was great to have you two take us back to the beginning of your journey. You guys looked great as young lads but I must say, and Shaun will appreciate this, you've both aged like fine wine. Did either of you ever dream you would have the following in the states that you have? I have a number of friends here in the U.S. that love Otis...and think you two are alright as well. Wishing you safe travels.
It’s still hard to believe we have the following we have xxxx
"No matter where you go - there you are" --- Buckaroo Banzai, also from "The Imitation of Christ" by some pervy monk in the 1400's who drew pictures of
snails fighting Knights in the margins of illuminated manuscripts.
A change of environment may eliminate some triggers, some things that push buttons, or push memories to the surface, but the you that you are
follows like Peter Pans sewn on shadow. It's the shadow - some can lose it, others it follows forever.
On the bright side - Don't like the shadows? Turn on the lights. Lights - things that make you happy, or even just thins that make you feel content.
So have a good day - do something that makes you happy.
Cheers Richard x
What a cult classic movie! And how true that saying is. One can never run away from one's self. No matter how you might try. So you need to accept who you are and make the best of it.
Pervy monk? Please elaborate.
Just loved it and you both but most of all Otis.xFrom 2 grandparents who wished we could get our own boat again.x
My Mom always told me “wherever you go, there you are”. At some point, I finally understood she was right, you never leave your personal baggage behind. I love your blog. You are both very talented 😊
Thank you x
Guys, you seem to have found the partner that makes you happy. You accept and deal with the difficulties that arise AND you communicate with each other. You have remained together through some dark times. You can laugh, and a relationship without laughter is dead. Enjoy the life that has been given to you... er... "Live long and prosper"?...
WOW! ❤️🙏 Thank you ❤️
You are and always have been a beautiful couple! Loved the quick montage of past photos!
Thank you so much!
That's funny lad and dad
29 years is a long time congratulations
Thank you x 🤣
Absolutely loved that photo montage of the happy couple. I switched to 0.25 x so I could have a good sticky-beak. OMG Colin, that tongue!! 🤣🤣 Fantastic story of how you met; unbelievably funny. Professional diving instructors!! Oh, this just keeps getting better and better. "It felt big inside me" 😮😮🤣🤣🤣 Loved learning more about your journey together and I love your openness about living with mental health issues. You two are very special individuals and an awesome couple. Thanks again.
Glad you enjoyed it, Andrew. Have a fab weekend 🙏❤️
In a former time, I managed a group home for 3 autistic teenage boys and another for a teenage autistic girl and a pre-teen with neurofibromatosis, then a home for young men, 2 autistic, one with Down's. I enjoy hearing about Colin's journey to the center of the mind. With my background, I can understand a bit where he is coming from, but I'll never _know_. On a completely different point, my wife came in and watched for a while, and saw the pictures of your younger selves. She said Colin hasn't changed much, as nice looking now as ever, and Shawn has gotten much more handsome as he aged. Then she looked a me and said, "How come you couldn't do that." 🤨
haha! Love it 🤣
Been watching since you started the vlogs. Loved and “liked” everyone . I don’t comment often, but just want you to know I love you guys. Please don’t ever take each other for granted. You have a very special relationship. We all live vicariously through your vlogs. Thank you for the glimpse into your past. Please keep doing what you do. Can’t wait to see the build on your new boat. Cheers from Florida 🌴🌴🌴🌴
Thank you so much, Jim 👍🏻💜
Thank you boys also been following you from first vlog, so many lovely pictures of you over the time of your shared life together. You didn’t have to open up but it’s wonderful you did and I thank you again for that. Wishing you all the best for the sale and looking forward to the new narrow boat
Thanks so much 😊
“Portobello” may well be a “place in London”, but it’s also “Edinburgh’s Seaside”. 😉
👍👍👍👍
There is a small town in eastern Tennessee, called Jonesborough, that hosts the International Story Telling Festival each year (virtually this year and last). The best storytellers from around the world come to Jonesborough to entertain thousands with stories. Colin, you are a world class storyteller. It's a talent that few possess, be proud of it. And every storyteller needs an audience, maybe a "straight" man (pun intended), a position which Shaun holds with excellence and aplomb. Great Vlog.
Sounds awesome xx
Shaun and Collin, I am thankful that your journey brought you to a place where others could enjoy your wit, humor, and wisdom. As strange as it may sound, you are like family. So, my brothers, stay safe and journey onward.
Thanks Teresa!
That comment is silly. Shaun doesn't look anything like Colin's son.
🤣
wow really nice pics of you two from a long time till now. Did not know you guys new each other that long. good job and hope you to have the best years yet to come from Sarnia Ontario Canada. ty for sharing your life
Glad you enjoyed it, Sally xx
That photo montage was fantastic. I’m still smiling.
Aww, thank you! x
Shaun's head shaking as Colin talked about sucking his milkshake through the straw made me laugh so hard. That's the kind of reaction that only comes from two people who know and love each other so incredibly well. Thank you so much for sharing your stories and adventures with all of us.
🤣🤣 Thank you so much, Patricia ❤️🙏
Why-thankyou! I thought i was only one who noticed that :3 And, to quote (someone), (somewhere), (sometime): _that felt very big in me,_ too. :P
My son has recently been diagnosed with adhd and is currently going through assessment for asd. It’s hard I won’t lie but would I change him, a wonderful little human who sees life outside the box, heck no x I find it amazing and hard and laughing out loud moments and crying moments x but he will be fine as he knows his own mind x thank you so much for your honesty x great vlog 👍
He will be fine, I promise. Time will be hard sometimes but he will learn and adapt. You're doing exactly the right thing and your mindset is perfect. Much love! 💜
@@FoxesAfloat thank you 😊 the more open and honest we are about it, the better and more accepting it will be for everyone 🤞🙌
You two are so adorable and I enjoy watching your videos SO much.
Loved this - as a relative newcomer to your channel it was great to hear your back story. You’re both amazing people, in different ways, and great advocates for mental health, healthy relationships, loving who you want to love, and open, honest discussion. 💙
Thank you so much xx
Love you both💙💚💛🧡🌈 ALOHA from Maui, Hawaii🌴🌴🌴🌺. ~ Im full time in my caravan 🚐 with my pup Mahina Moonflower 🐶
Nice one. Thank you!
Really enjoyed this episode! Tickles me every time Shaun says "You can't say that!" Thanks guys! 😃
🤣
5 years ago I started my life's New Journey first thing I did I get rid of my kids and my grandkids then sold the house and the business and bought a sailboat cheers guys and you to Otis
Awesome 😎
"It felt pretty big in me". Look at the sly grin on Shaun's face when you said it. Another good video guys and never knew you two were dive instructions.
Glad you enjoyed it
Hi guys, we look forward to every episode. You tell a tale with an honesty that is so very refreshing. Thank you for sharing some of your past journey it was a privilege to watch. My wife and I found this very inspiring. We have been together for over 40 years and know the value of loving and being loved. So glad you found each other. Keep up the good work and hitting us with unusual and interesting facts along the way. Love to both. Peter
Our pleasure! Thank you so much! 👍🏻💜
So, Otis is off to the side saying, “Pssst, slip me a quid and I’ll tell ya what really goes on around here! Trust me, I’ve seen it all!” Great show guys, I feel like I know you better each week!
Haha! He would too 🤣
I lo e these fellows and I am not gay, been married for almost 58 years, but I learned at a young age that gay folks were just like you and I regardless of race, color or sex. During a part of my working career, I happened to have some gay men who were some of my best customers and ran the cleanest and best rrestaurant that I called on. It further taught me to be more tolerant of others who are different than I am.
Shaun and Colin I loved the vlog. Each week you make me smile. When I’m nervous or worried you show me I’m not alone, I just need to face it and keep moving forward. Thank you both very much. Please pet Otis for me
Totally agree.
Will do. Thank you! 👍🏻💜
Great episode! Your honesty about the struggles with anxiety and depression even after the diagnosis of being on the spectrum were more helpful than you can possibly know. Huge hugs from Ontario 🇨🇦. 🤗
Thanks so much, Patricia 👍🏻💜
OMG.... You're both ....GAY?!?!?!!? I would have never.... ;P
.
I sat for a few, trying to string together the words to articulate my thoughts. They sort of go off in every direction. Some of your commenters praise you both for what you have and are doing for the gay community (forgive me if I don't use the whole alphabet). I suppose, in a way, that is true. But I never really thought about "SEXUAL ORIENTATION". Is that because I am a well traveled conservative gentleman or because you're not walloping me in the head with a rainbow fruit rollup every episode or sixty thousand other reasons... I don't know and I don't care.
.
What I do care about is your soft shoe into mental health. I have suffered from depression my whole life, as MANY do. Normalizing the discussion, lifting the stigmatism, bringing awareness to a community that suffers and dies... together and alone.... That is strong stuff.
Thank you.
.
.
P.S. The boat stuff, the canal stuff, the history stuff, not to mention you're quite entertaining, That's good stuff too. :D
You don';t think about sexual orientation because you're a good human being that see's others as just human xx
Thank you so much for your lovely comments, Jamie ❤️🙏❤️
I have to agree with David. This is, hands down, your best one yet! Thank you for this. I look forward every week here to my Thursday afternoon break so I can settle in and soak it all in. Keep living the dream (mine too), thanks again. All the best from the West (coast) of BC, Canada! 🇨🇦🇬🇧❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
I totally enjoyed that guys. I don't think you understand what an impact you make on those who have to deal with others who have mental illness problems. My wife was born with a minor form of Cerebral Palsy. I remember meeting you both on the Lanky at the start of your new journey. I didn't know at that time of Colin's issues and I had a word with Shaun who told me you were moving about 100 yds up at Hest Bank to get a new sofa delivered. I remember Linda was on her way back to the car at the time without meeting you properly as she was not in the best frame of mind. I can remember Shaun shouting 'Colin... Viewer' to bring Colin out of the boat but you had had a bad time Colin and you were barely over it. This last couple of years have not been the best for us. Isolation is not what people need, especially when they feel isolated from society in the first place. That said, we have been together for 37 years and we are still the best of friends. Thankyou for your honesty in you vlogs and I loved this episode. Ian
Aww, thank you. I hope I wasn't too quiet when Shaun called me out? x
Okay, the busdriver part killed me X""D Well done, jolly good laugh :D Also, the amount of "manhood" crossovers hit the (i'm not sure if i can post this)-spot.
But all the laughter aside, i want to say, you folks are a magnificent couple. That little love-story, plus your upbeat attitude toward mishaps (like the loss of someone, or difficult parts of life itself) brings a sign of hope, for a tired-to-look soul.
WOW Thank you, jay xxx
This is so inspirational! I'm watching your chanel since 20th-ish vlog and it gives me life since then. I was in some very dark places as a gay, borderline person living in such homophobic country like mine, but every time, every friday, you delivered me smile, laugther and a beam of hope. For all that I'm so thankfull. And I can't wait the new chapter of your narrowboat adventure! Best wishes guys! Big hugs from polish bear! :)
Thank you so much! 👍🏻💜
This is one of my favorite episodes!! You adorable, happy souls!!! 🦋 You make me smile.
You two are hecking adorable, here's to another 30yrs of you two being together.
Thank you for being such a wholesome couple & showing the world how adorable LGBT+ couples are
Yours sincerely. . . a random trans woman
WOW Thank you so much, Missy xxxx
Loved hearing your story. In a world where 50% of marriages end up broken, it seems you two have found a way to make it work. Thank you.
Thanks Bill. I hope so 💜
LOVE that you two are still loving and committed to each other. I wish you many more years happily together... whatever direction you decide to take. I discovered your channel through a friend's smart TV who loves watching you and narrowboats on UA-cam. A joy to now have you on my Subscribers 😍😍😍
Thank you so much!!
Thank you for this episode. I found it quite emotional. You are both really good decent men, as well as nuts. Again thank you for sharing this.
We are definitely not nuts....... Insane is the worse you're looking for 🤣
I am sad to hear that this adventure may not have helped your mental health but you sharing it with us and allowing us a glimpse into your lives has helped mine! Your videos are calming and a big stress relief to me! Thank You!
You're very welcome, Michael xxx
Thank you for this, it’s so lovely to hear your story, I have watched from no 1 but it’s nice to hear more about your why and history together ??? I love yr vlogs they have helped me through lockdown although I do tend to save you up to do a bit of binge watching 4weeks - at a time. I’m looking forward to seeing how you handle being homeless in a couple hours time x keep the vlogs going
Ah, Elaine, It's going to be an amazing adventure! 👍🏻😉
What a beautiful story and one of those photos was a blast from the past. The New Penny used to be on our pub crawl circuit back in the late 70s early 80s. Love the comment from One Per, Says it all really.
Glad you enjoyed it xx
Hi you two💜Thank you for sharing your story. I found it touching and very generous of you letting us in to this personal story of your life. This was a great vlog as always. I will from now on be on constant look out for Portobello for every boat passing 😀 Have a lovelly week-end🌸
Thank you x
You gave up the Maldives 😮 just to make us happy at 4pm on a Friday & we are so grateful. Love you guys. 👍😁😁⚓🐶
Our pleasure!
Have you ever given any thought to possibly having a radio broadcast from the cut maybe once a week an hour or two? Music maybe a question and answer call in? I’m in America but would love something like that. I know you seemed to have fond memories when you speak about your time in radio. Thanks, Susan
To be honest we're too busy creating vlogs.
Love, love, love seeing the 'older' pictures of the two of you. 💖
Thank you, Alison ❤️
I understand how much a relief it can be to have a answer. My spouse had both mental and physical issues. Having a diagnosis was a real help for me to understand. Unfortunately she lost the battle with her physical illness. It warms the heart to watch you two interact with one a other.. Best wishes to you both... Thank you for the videos and letting others like me explore places I will never be able to go on my own.
I'm so sorry to hear that, David 💜
A great advantage to mental wellbeing is a stable and reliable relationship. The black dog I have wrestled is under control largely due to my marriage of 50 years. Having someone close to you who thinks you are wonderful has to be theraputic. We are 70 and 71 years old and get on each other's wick from time to time now but are as one and comfortable with it.
I hope you two guys have as long or longer to enjoy each other and qualify to occasionaly get
on each others wick. Best regards
Thanks so much, Rob!
Hi Colin and Shaun, i watch your vlog every week, have done from week one, its rare that i comment but i do read nearly all the comments from other people, but this week i feel i have to say something! Your openness about your mental health problems i find are great and must help many other people out, you are probably doing yourself a lot of good too just by talking about it, so good on you! your a lucky man having Shaun a very understanding partner i might add, and i bet Ottis helps too with his waggy tail and unconditional love, you are two very lucky blokes, keep up the wonderful vlogs and thanks for sharing them with us all, all the very best my three freinds, bye.
Thanks so much, Paul. 👍🏻💜
I am at a loss for words. I came across your channel entirely by accident & as you mentioned, have watched the odd video & thoroughly loved every one I've watched (even the missus loves you guys). This one has made me subscribe.
We are sailors, not narrowboaters, indeed narrow boating has never even entered my mind, until now (thanks for that) Our intention was one day to sail around the coast of the UK. I have a life long history of being the square peg trying to fit in the round hole. I think, maybe, much as loathe labels, I think I should get tested, if for no other reason to give me some clue as to why I am the way I am.
Another reason I love your channel is because, being someone whose brother came out in the 80's (he still lives in Miggy, in Leeds!) & someone who is in what is commonly called an age gap couple (loathe that term as well) with someone who is of Asian decent. I've seen far to much bigotry in one lifetime. Let us be honest, even if the internet had existed in the 80's & 90's a channel like yours would have been targeted by so much hate. That all the comments I see on your videos are generally positive (& I am under no illusion there are still bigots out there) gives me hope for the future.
So, when is the next narrow boat show being held which you 2 will be at. Missus would love to meet you & she wants to look at narrow boats now (curse you!)
Ah, thank you so much! The next show is at Crick in June but I'm not sure we're going as we've still got lots to explore up here in Scotland.
You two should be on the TV. Wonderful presentation, always interesting AND amusing. Informative and warm. No politics just boats, love and great coverage. Love you guys
Thank you so much, Dane x
Really enjoyed this, lovely hearing your story x
Thank you so much!
I wish I could describe the happy face that comes over me when watching you guys. Part of it I think, is as they say in Thailand you both have 'Jai Di' or 'chai di', depending on the region. It means good heart, actually heart good, as a lot here is said back to front. Meaning people with no bad in them, and who want to look after and be kind to others.
Awwww glad we can make you happy xxs
thanks again for talking about some of your challenges. I struggle every day with depression and know I'm not alone. Sean is amazing and so are you.
Yous two are so funny and just amazing to watch, every time yous release a video it has me hooked and I can't stop watching, was lovely to hear your story aswell and thank you for sharing it even with a lot of strangers, all the beat to yous both
Thanks so much, Sean!
Love you both!! Thank you for sharing your story. It has made watching your vlogs even more enjoyable, very meaningful and inspirational. You are my therapy and support when I feel down....
WOW! Thank you 🙏
Another great Vlog, it is nice to hear about your past and your inspirations on why you do what you do. Also, it is funny to hear the innuendos it makes me chuckle. A question, if I may ask? Will you call your new boat Silver Foxes or will you chose a new name?
It will be called 'Silver Fox' 😉
Do you think there will ever come a time when you run out of things to say and film and then stop youtubing?
Nope 🤣
Fantastic voyage in every way, still laughing about Mc Donald's milkshakes 😆😆😉
🤣
Otis has found his voice!
How is it I can remember the names of cats and dogs but not people?
🤣
Just found your channel, you two are brilliant! Subbed and shall watch more!
Awesome! Thank you and welcome!
You two have aged so well...like a fine wine❤
Aww, thanks, Marion! 💜
Wonderful and honest. Thanks for sharing you journey.
You're welcome, Mary. Thank you ❤️
