      A handful of ppl have already done it on the J35Y2 on the 9G AV6, which I have. I know it’s much more popular on the 8G AV6, but I wanna see how much more power I can get out of my J35. I’m currently running the P2R “Big Bore” TB kit, with a Takeda Momentum intake. I’m looking to maybe get the J37 manifold from Heeltoe, esp if I can’t find used parts. Fuel injectors are my next upgrade in the future. Lpl

    So I'm pretty new to this but learning lot from you. Very appreciated. Can you clarify one point the engine is a 3.2 liter , while the magnesium intake is from a 3.5 liter ? And that it's just the gasket is the only other piece needed for this ? Thanks in advance , keep moving forward

      The Acura TL is 3.2L. It has aluminum manifold. Get a 3.5L magnesium manifold from Honda odyssey or Honda Pilot. The benefits…better air volume, Cooler intake temperatures, manifold can be separated, cleaned, and Ported+polished to create even more air volume.

    I didn’t like the shade of Vht red over vht black rinkle. It looked more orange in person. I ended up using a heat gun to make it wrinkle then buying two darker reds to test over it. I misted the best red over it and it darkened the valve cover enough .
    Anyway, point is, your theme is green so if you decide you want green wrinkle, you are only a spray away 😆.

    What’s the benefit switching to magnesium from aluminum?

    • @jroctizzle
      @jroctizzle Рік тому +3

      Less heat soak so the air stays colder and more dense. You could argue slight weight reduction but I’m guessing it’s so marginal that it wouldn’t make much of a difference anyway.

      @@jroctizzle Its actually quite a bit of weight. You could argue in the grand scheme is "negligible" but something like 7 lbs is nothing to sneeze at IF you are shaving lb by lb off stuff. Also while gaining a bigger, better flowing intake manifold that also nets you about 5-10 hp BY ITSELF, without a tune. With supporting mods its been dyno proven to give 20 hp. 20 hp to the Wheels that is, with pure boltons.

    Have you thought about tuning for E85 with the blower? It should help lower intake air temperatures and prevent predetonation under higher boost pressures. Even on N/A builds engines pick up power after tuning for E85.

      No you don’t. You don’t need to tune since it’s only a mild improvement. If you want to tune, go ahead and do so. It’ll improve it a bit more and give you a better gain. But overall for small bolt ons like these you almost never do unless you want to get every single little bit of hp out of each mod. I just got my TL and I don’t plan to tune it until after a couple modifications to do a better improvement all at once and not needing to spend money over and over again to tune for mild gains. Im planning to get a J pipe with its exhaust as well, then plan to buy the manifold shown in the video, send it off to port as well as with its throttle body, and then later install all myself once I get all those 3-4 things. Then I’ll take it to someone for it to be tuned. Just my suggestion really🙏🏽
