Ride Along: Golfers on Michigan Tech's Portage Lake Course

Typically open from late April or early May until the second week in October, Michigan Tech’s picturesque 160-acre 18-hole Portage Lake Golf Course is just two miles southeast of campus. The course was founded in 1902, making it one of the oldest in the state. There’s a driving range, PGA teaching pro, two practice putting greens, 25-cart fleet and a pro shop. The snack bar is a bonus! Student greens fees are covered by the Experience Tech program. Rental clubs are $5 (and there are student discounts for cart rentals and lessons).
