Wow Harkov!!! The city is special in my heart I was born and lived my first three years here. Thank you for let me see this city for for the first time in 32 years
Your channel (this video) came up in my recommendations and it's a nice find! Seen 4 vlogs till now (including this) and enjoyed all of them!! Yes, I subscribed already!
Great video, as usual. Fun to have a family member along with the days journey for added expertise and companionship on the tour. Not only is the train modern, fast, quiet, and comfortable, it's a screaming bargain at $15 for the length of the trip, probably one of the best bargains in all of Europe. The vast majority of trains in Europe have curtailed all food service due to Covid, so the opportunity to enjoy a meal on the train is almost a luxury. Keep up the excellent and informative narration as you enjoy your stay in the Ukraine.
You and Misha are a great host to this train travel journey! My heart flutters when reading: "Train Travel". Thanks for all the tips and recommendations! What a lovely video, Alina ❤️
Yeiii...!! I'm subscribed...!! What a beautiful Station in Kiev, wow... those wagons are huge...!! 3X2 configuration...!! And yes, the station in Kharkiv is awesome too. Cool tour, thanks..!
This is a awesome video of the train journey. The train looks very modern and sleek and very clean. Thanks for taking us along on yours and Misha' tour.
A great idea to cover this journey as a separate episode. Lots of useful info but it's also wonderfully immersive! I really like some of the shots particularly in and around Kyiv station, but the evening ones of Kharkiv from the taxi window are absolutely gorgeous!
Glad you enjoyed it! I've been trying to make more videos actually breaking down how to make travel easier in these countries because a lot of times not knowing can intimidate a lot of people from going. So hopefully people will see that it's not too complicated to travel around Eastern Europe not knowing the language.
Thanks for sharing your train trip, it will be what we choose when we visit there. I was surprised with the comfort and freedom to move around also. Good to know Misha is with you, and always enjoy what knowledge he has. He is a great person to have helping you, I'm sure you enjoy yourself much more that way too. Looking forward to what you find there, knowing you I know there are a many surprises you come up with in your journey's. Looking forward to your shares, they are always a real treat. Keep smiling, and be safe for us...You are always on the front line for us. Cheers!!
I've taken the high speed trains from Kharkiv to Kiev and from Kiev to Odessa. Nice, modern day time trains. The night trains are a different story altogether.
Hi Alina! Great to see you with your cousin again. Very impressive train for sure and it seems the ride was comfortable and the trip seemed shorter. Really looking forward to your next video.
Thank you Alina! Well done research for my upcoming Kyiv trip to visit my in-laws. I definitely enjoy your videos and including your choice of electric swing. 🍻
Hi Alina! Hi Misha! Thanks for sharing and showcasing your train ride from Kyiv to Kharkiv! I love riding trains, especially modern higher speed trains. In the day, I was a frequent train rider between Montreal and Toronto. I am also impressed with modern trains now in Lithuania 🇱🇹. I've had the pleasure of taking several modern train rides between Vilnius and Siauliai in recent years. Most of all, I enjoy taking in and visualizing beautiful landscapes on hyper-long train rides - as I did decades ago moving from Montreal to Winnipeg, then on to Saskatoon. I look forward to your explorations in and around Kharkiv!!!
This is my favourite channel. Congratulations on such an amazing achievement, it is really a channel that produces quality content. I wish you a lot of success with the channel and happy life.
Wonderful trains, cities and people and what about the station? A museum. You are really lucky to have a nice family person with you. The video is awesome. Thank you
Alina and Misha, Enjoy your time in Kharkiv . It looked like a nice train ride. Thank you for taking us along. Looking forward to more vlogs Be Well my friends. Harriet and Jim Richmond, Va.
Finally you visited my hometown. I hope you'll enjoy it. Don't forget to visit all the wonderful parks out there and take a ride on the cable car. Also I'd suggest visiting some of the less known places such as pizzeria 'Feliche' at 'Plosha Poezii' (the square of poetry) or if you like coffee - the place called 'Sweeter'.
Алина, залипла на ваши видео уже 4 час))) Вы очень красивая , умная девушка. Желаю вам еще миллион подписчиков, спасибо за то, что рассказываете об Украине
Zdravstvuyte, Alina, super to see you on the way for Kharkiv with perfect local company. Greetings to Misha. The plane is always my first priority, also in Ukraine, done MotorSich with local friends and also Dniproavia in earlier times. Followed straight by the train, warm welcomed to see you this way. Really good work. More, please, you know.
This was amazing for me to see, since I've taken the old Soviet trains, all over Ukraine. And to go to Karkiv, of all places, where I've been a few times. The first time, I was taking a train from Kiev, to Moscow. I was with my Ukrainian Dr. friend, a woman who moved to Moscow, with her two daughters. Since we had a long layover, I suggested we find a dentist, since I heard their prices were very cheap in Ukraine. She found a dentist, just two blocks away ! (When you leave the station, and look out at the courtyard, it is down the street, to the left of the big building in the middle.) We went there, and both got some things done, and saved a lot. I also went back there a couple times, as well as my friend. So this p;lace is the first dentist I went to in Ukraine, and had such a good impression, I decided to get more work done, on following trips. Last year, I saved at least, $10,000 in Kiev., and this year, about $1,500.! Also, I'm getting the best sleep mask I've ever seen, thanks to your sponsor.
A couple years ago took a train from Yaremche to Lviv. It wasn't like this train, but it was still ok. Something charming about those old Soviet era wagons.
As a fan of trains/railroads (and I work in the industry) I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I adore traveling by train, makes me feel alive. I also loved the music you used in this episode. Take care.
You are so natural Alina. Your million dollar smile just makes me feel better whenever I get to see your vlogs. I hope to meet you in person if you ever been to India.
Wow, great train cars (I wrote it before you guys pointed to it), I tell you. I travel often from Washington DC to Montreal by train. Ours will look like a soviet one to you, I know, what a cafeteria.
I am so surprised at the ticket price of USD15 for 5 hrs ride and it seems much clean and comfortable than I thought. But the price of beer is more than my expectation, haha. I felt today’s video ended so fast and I am stoked about the next one😉
@@freddiethompson58 $ 400-500 minimum wage, which can be found everywhere in Ukraine. you take it wrong. at the supermarket next to me, employees get $ 400 and a free lunch.
The price of the tickets reflects the wages in Ukraine , its all relative . In England and almost all other western countries the prices are high so the wages have to match it . The average wage here is around $400-$450
I took the high speed from Kiev to Odessa…very enjoyable but honestly the scenery was very monotonous, pretty much forest all the way but met some very cool people that shared the cabin with me so worth the trip. Odessa beach is defiantly worth visiting btw
The station architecture is amazing and I am impressed with the trains , I’m sure your videos will make more people be a bit more adventurous with travelling to Eastern Europe ,
Great video once again. One thing that jumped out for me is seeing how much English usage is slowly creeping into these Cyrillic countries. A few examples in this video like "Ticket Window" at the train station and "Travel Lunch Box" were surprising to see. Looking forward to seeing Kharkiv and what it might be like to spend some time there. Johnny FD bought an apartment there for a fraction of what he paid for the one he bought in Kyiv.
I travelled this trip 3 times so far and the trains are great , very comfortable and warm in winter and as someone has already commented a bargain price . The hall in Kharkiv station is amazing , the artwork is everywhere , worth spending time just looking around it . The metro can be accessed from the main station , its a little tricky but someone will soon point you in the right direction . There is repairs going on at the moment but nothing to worry about . The glass covered building at 10.57 is the history museum and well worth a visit
Good video. I have been to Ukraine several times and used the trains there too many places. I've been to Kiev a few times and like it. Went to Kharkiv once and it was nice. The parks there are great. 👍
I've a train story from that part of the world. I've not travelled in Ukraine but have done so in Russia. They do have high speed trains there. I travelled from St. Petersburg to Moscow, a journey of 804km. The train averaged 205km/hr and that takes in 4 scheduled stops. We got up to 250km/hr a few times. But when we arrived in Moscow we were 3.5 minutes early. And yes they made us wait those 3.5 minutes just short of the platform before we could pull in.
