In This video I finish up motor and transmission install in the Suburban with a few new parts and some tuning. It is time to see if the vvt and dod delete are going to work. We spent a lot of time putting this engine together and now it is time to finish up. I install new sway bar bushings, a new stretch fit a/c belt, New cold air intake and filter, new spark plug wire from msd to fit the headers without rubbing, a ballenger wideband for tuning, and new shorter pushrods. After getting the engine started I noticed we had a misfire. It turns out the pushrods I used were too long. I swapped out for a shorter 7.425 and that fixed my issue. I also wanted to get rid of the huge factory air intake so I went with an airaid m.i.t. with green filter usa replacement filter. It looks way better and will add a little power. The msd plug wires were needed to clear the longtube headers. After all of this we install a wideband and log for tuning. I then send the file to my tuner and he makes adjustments. This thing is running awesome and will make someone a great driver. Hit the Comments and let me know what you think.......

Sometimes you inspire me. I had no idea they made the modular intake tube. I had been looking at a CAI intake but they run around $400 and since the stock system already brings in cold air the Airaid made more sense for me. So I ordered an Airaid for my 2019 Tahoe and added an AEM dry performance filter. I'm not a fan of the oiled filters. The AEM is washable/reusable. The Airaid MIT definitely cleans up under the hood, which is why I did it. Any performance or mileage gains will most likely be undetectable. It does make a little more noise when you accelerate but I hear no difference at cruising speed. Thanks for showing us the ways of GM
Thank you. I agree. Cleans up the look
The amount of money you spend on a CAI is a waste of money. The best thing you can do is purchase the Airaid MIT and do a drop in filter. The factory air box is waffled inside which actually helps. Don’t ask me how.
That is exactly what is on it
I run the accel ceramic boot plug wires with an angle and they are great. About the same price as msd as well. Nice build and info man.
I may try those one day
@TWAMotorsports it's all you'll ever run after... they come off and on good and don't pull out of the boot and great with long tubes! Keep it up Travis...
@JKZ103 I will definitely look into that
How much was it to do dod and the vvt or give an estimate o that lol just incase i want to do it to my tahoe
A couple thousand
My buddy Wally is gonna remove the Active Fuel Management in his 2010 Chevrolet Suburban and also, his Suburban is for sale if you want to buy it
No need for another.
Good job with the new engine. I don’t remember if you said it in a previous video but did you replace the oil pump and if so which one did you use? Just wondering how you get 60psi oil pressure lol. My 07 Avalanche with 150,000ish miles has the original oil pump and I get 40psi on a cold start and 25ish psi at operating temperature. I already replaced the oil pressure sensor and the screen.
I did. Link in video description to pump
FYI I have a 2013 Suburban. I used an AC belt tensioner and belt for an 05 Tahoe. Works great.
Not a bad idea
Great video on getting one set up after all the mods. Really wanted to see you do the suspension and of course wheels and tires, bummer. I guess you learned about this cam so it was kinda a “test” vehicle. Thanks!
It was fun for a tinkering project
They make a stretch belt tool. It makes putting those belts on super easy. My AC belt actually came with one. I was able to put mine on from the top.
If you did it a lot, it would be worth it.
Looks like a nice vehicle, probably will sell quick. ✌🏻
Thank you. May already be gone
Don't they have insulated sleeves for the plugs???
Some do
Zip ties for the AC pulley. Just get it started at the top and zip tie it then spin it into place.
It actually went on pretty easy
Always great content!
Thank you
This misfire has to do with the cam sensor
It was the pushrods actually
@@TWAMotorsports good to know I’ve been having a misfire in my truck too I’ll look into that, cam sensor seemed to help it
Could be pushrods being too long and holding valves open
First
Yo
Aye I appreciate the content you bring to the table I learn alot by watching your videos lol I'm what you call a UA-cam mechanic 🤣 every thing I learned was from UA-cam
@marioking983 thank you. I just like to play
What cam is it because i might be doin one in the spring and I don't want a stupid crazy cam? 🍻
Stage 2 truck cam from cam motion
@@TWAMotorsports I have to DOD delete it but it doesn't have the VVT so it's probably a different cam without the VVT.
No. Same cam for vvt or not. I deleted all that
@@TWAMotorsports Mine only has DOD it doesn't have the VVT mine was before they started that on them so I didn't know if the camshaft is different in some way.
Not aftermarket cams.
