Yes, Adam Sandler is "actually good" when he actually tries. The issue is that he doesn't try. The good news is that he seems to be putting more effort into the last part of his career.
I grew up on sandler movies and will confidently say this man is the best thing to happen in my life. Whenever I see him I think I have just met an old time friend. I hope he keeps up his great and comedic acting and lives till a good old age!
What makes him "not a great person?". Never heard anyone complain about him as a person before. Otherwise mostly agree with your assessment, with the exception of Happy Gilmore, of course. If you would have asked me if he was a great actor 5 years ago, I would have said, "maybe". Punch Drunk Love being the amazing film it was, I am not sure, it was enough to get him to that great status (Spanglish doesn't come close, nor does Funny People, imo). With the release of The Meyerowitz Stories and this new one, he is *_finally_* showing everyone he does in fact have some chops. I never disliked him as an actor and always knew he had potential due to Punch Drunk, but I always did consider his films to be pretty garbage, even while most people used to highly praise all of his comedic roles. So yeah, I am pretty stoked that he is doing some other more dramatic type roles, because he really does shine in them. Good for him:) Thanks for the vid.

@@spingmufh1007 so being in bad movies means you're not a good person LOL that's such an odd thing to think. It could have been easily cleared up by saying Adam Sandler might have been in a lot of bad movies. But saying Adam Sandler may not be a good person is just out of left field.
OperaTion NoRthwooDs yeah, kinda forgot to say that he was a good person. He definitely is though, pretty much every movie he has made recently with friends was just him having fun with them. He’s a great guy with a few stinkers
There’s also the thing he did when he received a lot of flack for his Netflix movie Ridiculous Six which a lot of people criticized for racist caricatures of Native Americans. It got so bad at one point that the Native American actors quit the set. It was a whole debacle, I’m not sure if it ever ended up coming out. But people were mad because when he addresses the issue he said that he was just trying to make a funny movie and that it was “pro-Indian,” and then described the Native American characters as “good people trying to help his character,” which is frankly just a tired old noble savage stereotype. He didn’t really address the actually racist jokes or the working conditions which caused the actual Native American actors to leave the set.

The longest yard is one of his best. There's no otherwise.
I’m honestly really excited to see him in more serious movies, when he plays a very down-to-earth character he does incredible.
I grew up with my dad putting on a lot of Adam Sandler movies and I enjoyed every Adam Sandler movie there is to my memory to me every time I see him I think of my father and to me Adam is like my dad.
I listened to a podcast interview and PTA actually said one of the movies that made him cast Adam Sandler in Punch Drunk Love was Big Daddy
Yes, Adam Sandler is "actually good" when he actually tries. The issue is that he doesn't try. The good news is that he seems to be putting more effort into the last part of his career.
Ah, looks like Runquist best me to this one. And that is A-okay.
I grew up on sandler movies and will confidently say this man is the best thing to happen in my life. Whenever I see him I think I have just met an old time friend. I hope he keeps up his great and comedic acting and lives till a good old age!
People: adam sandler is a bad actor
Adam Sandler: hold my chocolate pudding
He gives a pretty underrated performance in The Week Of, like there’s a lot silly and dumb moments but his monologue at the end was great
Adam Driver and Joaquin Phoenix both gave career-best performances this year. Adam Sandler, on the other hand, deserves the Oscar.
Bro those adam sandler movies in the beginning are great
What makes him "not a great person?".
Good for him:)
Thanks for the vid.
I agree it's a pretty odd Association for him to make bad movies equals bad person? I don't remember hearing about any bad scandals Adams been in. A lot of people are noticing this. maybe this guy will add a little footnote saying he misspoke. who knows
@@JayInDecent Glad others noticed as well. After looking at some of the comments, I guess some people are thinking some of his movies might be seen as non-PC; namely _I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry._ I mean...I guess?? Idk, I think that pushing it a bit if people want to complain about that. Who knows what Karsten actually meant, though.
@AlwaysLookCool 729 Assuming you mean Karsten? If so, I kinda agree. I'm a relatively new sub of his, but I've been starting to wonder why I subbed in the first place. I'll probably end up leaving the channel soon.
And if you mean Sandler; well...I'm gonna have to disagree with you there. That would be the first I have heard someone think he was snobby. But everyone has their opinion, including myself, so no offense taken;)
@AlwaysLookCool 729 Oh, haha. Yeah, he does tend to be a bit on the douchey side.
Adam Sandler's Click is still the only movie to ever make me cry. Toy Story 4 came close, but still only Click has made me cry.
He's a perfectly good actor. His recent movies are just terrible. lol
Am I the only person who can sit down and basically enjoy any movie that is on. Every time I enjoy a funny goofy movie I always go on the internet and find out people hate it because of terrible story or acting or something. Like wth not every movie is perfect just enjoy the entertainment and have a few laughs.
I do the same, can't think of more than one movie I have genuinely disliked
I love adam Sandler there’s his movies are always enjoyable even if they aren’t the best
I actually loved Click, it gave some really good comedy yet having a emotional twist at the end of the movie that will have you not take your family for granted.
adam sandler has this amazing ability to look dead in the eyes no matter what role he’s playing
‘Reign over me’ was surprisingly amazing for a sandler film
The fact that you didn't mention Reign Over Me dissapoints me
Reign over me was another one of his best acting performances. Highly underrated for mine
Can’t forget that funny people is one of the most critically underrated films of all time
He’s outstanding in UNCUT GEMS. ALL the cast are great in it. The movie is indeed....intense
The title is the first Adam Sandler joke I’ve laughed at
So happy this video was made!!!! Almost wanted to do it myself but you did it perfectly bro
I personally think adam sandler is hollywoods laziest actor, when he really gets to work its magic
The SNL sketch he was in last season, the one with the honest travel agent, was both hilarious and heartbreaking. The episode win an Emmy and I’m willing to bet for that sketch.
Adam Sandler is at his best when he isn't just Adam Sandler.
Dude.. everyone who grew up in the 90s loved Happy Gilmore. It was HUGE.
Why is Adam sandler a bad person? Not up to date on him at all.
He’s just in a lot of not very good movies
@@spingmufh1007 so being in bad movies means you're not a good person LOL that's such an odd thing to think. It could have been easily cleared up by saying Adam Sandler might have been in a lot of bad movies. But saying Adam Sandler may not be a good person is just out of left field.
OperaTion NoRthwooDs yeah, kinda forgot to say that he was a good person. He definitely is though, pretty much every movie he has made recently with friends was just him having fun with them. He’s a great guy with a few stinkers
@@spingmufh1007 i agree. I think this guy just kind of worded it weird.
Who tought about the Joker running through the tunnel scene 4:41 ?
I actually like Adam Sandler movies because I inherited my father’s humor
Another couple great Sandler flicks that showcase his dramatic range are Reign Over Me and Funny People.
i literally love every single movie he's been and has watched ALL his movies.
how is he bad??? Click was sad and a pretty good movie to me IMO. Pixels is pretty awesome except the ending IMO.
But I love you're videos and are awesome.
I grew up watching his films on repeat. I had his films on VHS I got them from a charity shop I love adam :)
Reign over me, another Adam Sandler “serious” role
He’s one of my favorite actors haha, especially since he played in many of my childhood movies (personally, my favorite one is definitely “Bedtimes Stories”)
SAME
adam sandler should have as much respect as Keanu reeves.
👇🏻like if you agree!
According to countless sources, he's actually a great guy in person. Surprisingly down to Earth and very generous with friends and fans alike. Thomas F. Wilson (Biff from BttF) says he's his favorite person in Hollywood, and after meeting Wilson I trust his opinion. He's also a really nice guy. Has Happy Madison mostly made garbage since its inception? Yeah, I can't deny that. Still, everything from Happy Gilmore to Big Daddy is great, in my opinion.
“Redefined what it meant to act on film”
Ok don’t mean to hate but we’re still talking about Adam Sandler here not Daniel day Lewis
‘Reign over me’ is his best performance I can’t believe it wasn’t mentioned
I'm a simple little girl
I see Adam Sandler
I click.
My dad really liked this video. He’s a Sandler fan, comedy and acting. He appreciated seeing someone acknowledge Sandler’s acting abilities
