- While Cobra Commander and Serpentor blame each other's stewardship of Cobra as the root cause of the organization's failures, a mysterious woman breaks into the Terrordrome. Cobra Commander leads the counter-attack, but in an attempt to rid himself of Serpentor, allows the intruder to escape. Reaching Serpentor, the intruder reveals herself as Pythona, who comes from a secret civilization known as Cobra-La. Pythona states that they were responsible for causing Doctor Mindbender to create Serpentor through dream manipulation. At her urging, Serpentor plans to capture G.I. Joe's newest weapon, the Broadcast Energy Transmitter (BET).

Best part of the movie right here in this video. It was downhill from this point forward the rest of the movie. The opening was so badass. I wanted a Pythona figure so bad. To this day, she is still my favorite character. I wish she had been introduced in the cartoons. Loved her.
nonsense the whole film was great. it's weirdly like if GI Joe was a JRPG. Honestlly if this was one I'd play the fuck out of it. It even had the final boss gauntlet.
Her design is incredible.

She's voiced by Jennifer Darling, who also does the voice of Princess Ayeka from Tenchi Muyo
She also voiced Irma, April O'Neil's friend in the first Ninja Turtles cartoon.

Best part of the movie.
I never got this as a kid, but Cobra Commander was deliberately giving false directions to his squad so then the "Assassin" can kill Serpentor. You can see Pythona go in the opposite direction to hide. I always missed it.
Lesson of the day: Kids are Dumb.

Especially coming from an actress Jennifer Darling the same voice behind Princess Ayeka from the anime Tenchi Muyou. This is what happens when Ayeka is tainted by Kagato. Thus turning her into Evil Ayeka!
Darling also voiced in 1989s "Pryde of the X-Men". I think she voiced White Queen and/or Storm.

Pythona should've used her acid nails on a B.A.T. in this scene. The missing 1987 COBRAS (Crystal Ball, Big Boa, Croc Master, Raptor, Zanzibar and Techno-Vipers) would've put up a better fight against her.
This movie needs a HOT TOYS line of figures - classic movie!!!

Its from Transformers season3 and i think is essentially a faster paced version of the 'Ancient Wisdom' track
It's the exact one. They reused allot of Season 3 music for this movie instead of getting a huge score like the Transformers movie did. Season 3 of Transformers had an awesome track.

Cobra was pretty organized when they had a control room like that. Cobra had high tech stuff and that was due to cobra commanders brains
I always thought the Cobras were based on the Wehrmacht. Regular troops had similar helmets. Cobra Commander was a strategic dumbass like Hitler. Destro, almost like Von Manstein, came up with good plans and Cobra Commander screws it up.

And this was the high point of the film...things steadily declined from there plot wise (some good stuff here and there) and the episodes after the film were even worse. I liked the movie as a kid but it didn't last.
G.I. Joe has some great characters that need writers like Scott Snyder.

Cobra Commander should have quit by now and form a new terrorist group and show those traitors a lesson. Or, at least Serpentor, won't be blaming him or those buffons or having his majesty stealing his victories, ideas, or secret weapons,etc?
Good point, Cobra Commander once kept Serpentor at bay by rather cleverly telling him that he should be kept around as a "scapegoat"! I wonder if this little incident is him wanting out of the deal OR him trying to make himself a straw-man to remind Serpentor that he can still use the Commander as a means to distract everyone from HIS imperfections...
If you want to see what happens with Cobra Commander after the Movie, you might want to look up the 1989 G.I. Joe cartoon series created by DIC Entertainment. It was effectively a sequel to the first cartoon (though not very well-done, from what I've seen of it).

Damn. Not to be racial, or anything, but ever notice that Cobra seems to have NO black infantry men, or women?.....Or officers in that case? Nope. I'm lying, there IS one, Lt. Clay Moore. The Joe team has a few, though. Stalker, Roadblock, Heavy Duty, Bullet-Proof, Alpine, The Fridge, Big Lob, Hardball, Iceberg, Doc, but damn Cobra.........DAMN.

Well, Cobra is an authoritarian terrorist group. So, with the exception of Storm Shadow, I doubt diversity is part of their goal.
