      Yeah I agree - apparently they don’t tolerate hard driving very well but fortunately there will be none of that while she’s mine anyways 😃

    Looking great! That beast deserves a restore. Your correct so much going on with the chassis I would be very tempted to polish all the aluminum. Glad you got it all sorted looking forward to the final stage.

      Man it really does deserve the polish & shine treatment all around I just get in too much of a hurry with projects like this - when I tore this apart I had this awful feeling like it would never get put back together - fortunately my OCD wouldn’t let me leave it alone 😂

    Happy weekend Wade! I would be starring at it all day too if I have one! What an accomplishment! I am excited to see the control mechanism for the rotary carb and brake you mentioned. 👍

      Thank you Terence! For a minute after I tore it apart I freaked a little because I had to cut most of the old linkages off - then I remembered I have a box with all new linkages to use to copy for this one 😂 - gonna try something a little different in how the servos mount since the carb is on top and the brake lever is on bottom - maybe turn one of the servos on its side 🤷‍♂️

      Turning the servo on its side is a great idea.👍 Getting the exact right lengths and servo-throw is challenging but I’m sure you would get it all worked out eventually.

      Man now that is cool you’re gonna absolutely love you some nitro!!! I will try to help any way I can - good news there’s a lot of UA-cam dudes who actually know what they’re talking about so you got nothing to worry about 👍

      I appreciate that Luke I only wish you guys got to see it before I ripped it apart - how someone could leave a treasure like this to decay to such an extent 🤷‍♂️

    Fantastic work there Wade, I don't really know much about these Nitro's but it seems odd the brake linkage is underneath, where does the throttle/brake servo fit? Should be a blast running this. 😀

      @wadeskelton7585  4 місяці тому +1

      I’m with you I don’t think they intended for the brake arm to be underneath but it’s the only way it seems to fit with the metal bulkheads 🤷‍♂️ the servos mount in an enclosure that sits just in front of the engine - will have to get creative to set it up to work with the upside down brake 🙃

    Brake lever should be on top. Never seen metal carriers, what shell do you have on it? Also what wheels too?

    • @wadeskelton7585
      @wadeskelton7585  Місяць тому

      I agree it just won’t fit lever up 🤷‍♂️ I’m clueless as to which car this body was for originally I’ve never seen another one like it - also I don’t know where the wheels/tires came from there’s too many mysterious parts on the car all around - I’d love nothing more than a chance to chat with the original owner!

    Bro forgot to ask is this another car or you just built from the NIB kit? Wow like your body very nice work a good balance between nostalgic and modern look. My presto is in cage body so i want to get a body similar to yours

    • @wadeskelton7585
      @wadeskelton7585  4 місяці тому

      So this is one I got that was already built it just needed to be restored - the other kit is still safe in the box. I prefer this body to the original kit presto body for sure I just have no idea what it is, who made it, or which car it came from 🤷‍♂️
      The vanning cage is bad ass too you’re gonna love it brother 👍

      Better put your NIB in a safe brother hahaha. My Vannings is on its way to HK. Haha I like your comment re your girl friend as I shared similar moments . Girls just don’t get it..not to mention you and I are not those die hard Japanese bros who are genuine hard core collectors: in one Yokomo Wonder Dog Fighter UA-cam, the dude has 1 perfect as the shelf queen, 1 almost perfect for driving, and 1 not too bad used car for “parts”. Sometimes you have to pay lots of respects to Japanese dudes. 😂😂😂 cant wait for your new youtube brother Wade. God bless
