I have used salicylic acid toner - Clinique acne solutions for 2+ decades. I do not have pizza face and when I don’t use my toner, I sense my skin feels a bit less smooth and supple. I LOVE salicylic acid and will continue using it. I also exfoliate my skin 2x a week and use my serums and day/night products daily. I don’t have many lines on my face (just my || on forehead when I crease or don’t use my physician grade tape on them 😂). Will I get more wrinkles- yes of course!! I am 71 and don’t give a hoot about it. But it’s great to have 😊 good skin.
I have a challenging topic for you - ehlers danlos syndrome ( EDS )- what should people with EDS be using when our collagen is ‘defective’ I’ve always been curious because a lot of skin care is “boosting collagen” but what’s the point when my collagen is broken basically lol
I have eds, depends on your type but maybe dont think of it as broken? Its different, and that def can cause issues where strength is needed (joints & pelvic floor come to mind!) but actually in face for several types eds makes you look younger because iys presumably slightly more elastic. There have to be some perks 😅 I look 10-15 yrs younger than my sister who is 3yrs older. I know this might not be everyone's experience but it's pretty common in eds3. I think i saw a study about vitamins c to help in marfans or eds to boost collagen.
@@emilyb5557 ya know brain fog I find it so hard to explain to non eds people it’s either oh no collagen broke or …fatal arthritis 😂 You go sister!!! Sometimes watching models do photo shoots I can spot who has EDS by the way they move/sit but all that to say a lotta spoonies are gorgeous! Thanks a bunch I’ll top up my vit c dose (try to look into if topical vit c does anything worthwhile)
Thanks Dr. Idriss. I got some of the Inkylist GA you mesntioned in a more recent vid. You say to do at night after you wash your face. Should that be the last step or a moisturizer after?
How do you feel abt coconut oil as a smear-and-wipe cleanser, 👍🏼 or 👎🏼? My gorgeous-skinned grandma swore by it, but I vaguely recall it being pooh pooh'd during a derm rotation in med school. Didn't pay attention then coz I was too busy mastering the brain, but now as a, let's say "40+" brain geek, I'm a little annoyed that I don't know.
@@zedi528 ok 👌 you sounds kinda mad 🙄. I’m 29 and look 18 by what a lot of ppl tell me when I have them guess. She looks early 30’s . You got to me mad cuz she looks good for her age
@@jociir2650 Her skin is so bright, firm and clear. She does indeed look younger and you can tell she takes good care of her skin. Most women my age (34) spend way too much time in the sun with no sunscreen and it shows. I'd say 40 isn't old but you can still give credit where credit's due.
I tried glycolic acid once a week for 2 months but it gives me these clogged like pores after 2 days all over my face . Any recommendations what would work?
Do you think maybe it's actually unclogging your pores? I found Salicylic acid did the same for me, because it was cleaning out pores that had never been exfoliated in years but I can't say it'll be the same for everyone
I used CeraVe acne cleansing wash that salicylic acid in it and it burnt the hell out of my skin😭 I turned into a deep red color and it was so stinging and painful that it took a few hours before i turned back to original skin tone. The hot feeling on my face didn't go away up until the evening. I am ashamed to admit this but i might have let it sit for 3 minutes before washing it off so i blame it on that but i am scared to use it ever again? Anyone had the same experience?
3 minutes shouldn't have been long at all though... Maybe you're allergic to an ingredient in it? Try a different Salicylic acid product, maybe and patch test it first. It may be possible that you're allergic to the Salicylic acid, ik it can be plant derived. But you'll never know until you try. Maybe get trial products in future, to save money. And get reading the ingredients lists on your products to figure out your allergy
I ended up being allergic to centella asiatica, which is supposedly a very rare allergy, so you honestly can't tell until you dig into reading inky lists and stuff 😅
Oh and btw, I left my 2% Salicylic acid toner on my face overnight since the beginning as a person with sensitive skin and I'm fine, so the 3 minutes is definitely not going to do any damage tbh, unless you have a sensitivity or allergy
@@ZakManga oh you are so right with everything you said. I have an extremely allergic skin and i should have done a patch test first. I will purchase tester products first because i am very likely to turn out to be allergic to random things. Thank you for taking your time sharing these valuable infos with me. Once again i understand how careful i have to be with my skin. Wishing you the best skin🌸

Eyeliner tutorial please #2
can you make a video about how to use to use Lactic acid and retinol in a weeks routine.
I use them separately each night. I use tretinoin 3x a week and lactic acid 2x a week.

unrelated but I absolutely love your jewelry especially your necklaces and bracelets! have you ever tagged where you get them from?
Love your videos ❤
I use tretinoin almost every night. When I use my 5% lactic acid I peel a few days later. This has caused me to rarely use it.
I use glycolic acid after my retinol at night a few times a week but not every night. Should I be using it before my retinol?
I normally do salicylic 3 times every 7 days and moisturizing ones 5-7 days just because my dry skin is prone to sebaceous filaments
You’re great! Following :)

Hyaluronic acid is a good example of non exfoliating acid 😊

What are the virtues of the various AHAs and what pH?
Doctor, on the nights that I use glycolic toner, I shouldn't use retinol right?
Azelaic acid??
