    Hi Brian! A few comments on those batteries: If you deep cycle -- as in 200 Ah that lead acid it will be only a few cycles -- like less than 50 before it is a doorstop or paperweight. If you don't allow it to go below 40% remaining charge it may last 500 to 1000 cycles. So it is really a 120 Ah battery if you want it to last. The LiFePO4 can be discharged down to 10% remaining and maintain its 4000 cycle life. So it is a 90 Ah battery and a good, properly setup BMS won't let you damage it or degrade its 4000 cycle lifetime. So . . . we're really comparing a very heavy lead acid 120 Ah with a much lighter 90 Ah LiFePO4. The LiFePO4 battery wins!!! Thanks for the great videos.

    We tried out our new LifePo4 100Ah battery (different brand) last weekend. Did great! We live in Loveland, CO but went to Buford, WY where the overnight temps got into the 20s. The low temps and cloudy skies limited our solar charging (and increased our usage), but it got us through the weekend. I'm a believer!

    Another great video. Looks like a nice battery. I almost want to ask if your Renogy is for sale but I really don't need new batteries yet. That thing is a beast!!

      Thank you! It is a sweet little battery that worked really well. I am excited for our next trip to see how it does! I am planning on using the beasty Renogy battery for a project at our land involving our new shipping container! Shipping container hasn't been delivered yet, but is on order :) My video next week should be about our shipping container if all goes to plan 🤞

    Great info, thank you. I now have a pop up camper ( used to tent camp) and all this info is so helpful. How muck solar power are you using to charge your lithium battery?

    I would recommend to upgrade your charge controller to charge your LiFeP04 batteries at 14.6v to get a proper charge and maintain its cycle life.

    Thanks Brian, Nice job on the review. I know lithium batteries are coming on strong, but be careful and mindful about possible fire situation. You literally can’t hardly get enough water on them to put the fire out. Please research this for your own safety. Love your videos, Gods blessings.

      Thanks Bob! I've heard about the fires. One thing I should have mentioned in the video is they say the battery is explosion proof. I overlooked mentioning that "feature" because it's weird to say a battery not exploding is a feature, lol! Thanks for the comment and watching.

    Hey Brian, I have this battery in my cart through your link (after also watching Will Prowse's review). I'm still confused about which charge controller and inverter I need, and anything else. I have a couple 100w solar panels on the roof but no other solar components. I have a 30amp toy hauler with a Onan 3300 generator and original lead acid battery. What else do I need to add to my cart? I'm ready to get this done after months of over-researching and confusion. All I really care about powering is a computer and coffee maker, plus all the stuff that already runs on the battery. For now.

    • @ColoradoCamperman
      @ColoradoCamperman  2 роки тому

      Thanks Jeff! It's a great battery. I did a video on how to install a 200 watt system. It may be worth a watch to make sure you have everything. Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/v_omW_iK9NQ/v-deo.html
      Where does the power from the solar panels feed in to? Do you already have a charge controller? It's hard to say exactly what you need because I am curious how your panels hook up to your camper.
      Generally power lines from the solar panels run into your charge controller. Then you should have wires running from your charge controller to your batteries or you 12 volt electrical box (I have mine running to our 12 volt electrical box). If you get a proper charge controller, there should be a "load" section. This is where you would plug your power inverter into.
      If you intend on running a coffee pot, you will definitely need a bigger power inverter, probably 1200 watts or so - double check the wattage of your coffee pot to make sure you get a big enough inverter. You may be able to brew your coffee with the battery but I don't know for sure if you will be able to keep it on the warm setting for very long, it depends on how much solar you will be bringing in.
      I hope I helped you more than I confused you, lol! Let me know if you have more questions. Thanks for watching!

      @@ColoradoCamperman Thanks, Brian. I'll watch this for the install. Fortunately the panels came installed with the camper. I have a Victron MPPT 100V 50 and Renogy 2000W Pure Sine Wave Inverter in the cart. I'm guessing I'll add a battery and swap the panels out for 200w each some day. Am I missing anything?

    • @ColoradoCamperman
      @ColoradoCamperman  2 роки тому

      @@JeffOnTheRoads It sounds like you have everything. You must already have some type of charge controller on your rig since solar came with the camper. It sounds like your plan is to swap out that charge contoller with the Victron MPPT? The only other thing I think of is making sure you have the cables/wires needed to hook up everything.

    • @JeffOnTheRoads
      @JeffOnTheRoads 2 роки тому +1

      @@ColoradoCamperman thanks, Brian. It didn't. The dealer told me it was "solar ready." Apparently that meant it came with with panels, wired from the roof, but no controller. He probably told me that and I had no idea what he was talking about.
      Ok... I'm placing the order. Thanks again for your help.

    What is the storage capacity of the battery, I mean how many kilowatts can be stored in the battery

    • @ColoradoCamperman

      It has a capacity of 100 amp hours and a voltage of 12 volts. So, in this example, your battery has a capacity of 1.2 kilowatt hours.
