The 2025 Cadillac CT5 Gets A Serious Upgrade In Design & Interior Technology

- The midsize #CadillacCT5 has been a surprising sales success for #Cadillac since the #CT5 replaced the #CadillacCTS in 2021. For 2024, it gets a new front fascia, new wheels, and a brand-new 33" curved OLED display from the all-electric Lyriq.

The V non Blackwing is a nice sweet spot. Sounds good and is plenty fast enough. I am getting a bit older, but would still prefer a luxury sedan like this vs a CUV. I do wish Caddy would do a mild hybrid system similar to BMW and Mercedes for a bit more added torque and improved fuel economy.
It always been a beautiful vehicle an the refresh makes it look even better..
Best looking vehicle in the segment, love it!
I owned a 13 ATS 3.6 premium a few years ago, my first Cadillac it was surprisingly a very reliable car. The CT5 has been on my radar for a while. I think I will go for it since Lexus killed the GS.
Most people don't look at Toyota Lexus cars. They see them all the time. A CT5 gets people's attention & you don't see yourself coming & going multiple times per day.. Take it from a guy who's been driving a V-Series for a year. It's appealing, athletic & lovely.
It's funny that Cadillac is now adopting the front-end design for this car from their flagship CT6 that they discontinued years ago. Looks good though. Interior doesn't appear to be any different aside from adding the big screen.
Ironically the CT6 has been relaunched in China
Give us the CT6-again! USA 🇺🇸
A new 2025 ct6 would’ve looked so amazing 😢. I hate they discontinued it
Wow! This is a great looking car! The red paint and brown leather are gorgeous. The minimal use of black plastic cladding is refreshing in our sea of SUVs.
I never owned or liked a Cadillac CT5 in my life. But this sturner will definitely make into my shortlist.
I have owned 2 Cadillacs. They were beautiful inside and out. The ride felt like I was floating down the road. So comfortable. But the both of them were always in the shop for one thing or another.
They need an interior upgrade to the AWFUL XT6. The exterior could be better as well. They need a baby version of the Escalade. Do what Lincoln is doing with the Navigator.
Xt6 is garbage because it's mostly a tarted up Chevy Traverse
They just need a whole now from the ground up XT6. It’s not bad but at the same time it’s not alluring.
Same thing with the Buick enclave or whatever the biggest one is it’s a lot of money and it looks like a 2013 GM interior
If they drop the price I think it would be a steal. The asking price is too high for what you get
It's coming they updated the traverse and the Acadia so the xt6 is next
I actually love it! For a change Cadillac has finally given some good visual ques that bring cohesion to the entire lineup while giving tasteful nods to previous generations! I still would opt for the Lex 500 but that opinion is so visually loosened by the new look that I could potentially be swayed to the ct5.
Lex500 all day over this
I’m saving my pennies. Sooo happy they changed the infotainment center. No longer looks like a glorified Chevy. Love it
I'd take this in black. Love the updates Cadillac is making across the line-up.
Always love your high speed reviews stating the key points.
Pls keep upnthe great work
Oh snap. Now I might need to upgrade my CTS now.
I'm hoping the ct4 gets a similar refresh so I can upgrade my ats
@@renypayne11 I like how the CT4 looks but it's too small. The current CT5 looks kinda weird to me.
The car is still gorgeous. Interior looks improved, Exterior looks like a step backward, but still vastly prettier than anything out of Germany or Japan.
Good point!
I still prefer the new RS3, and they are borrowing the light show off of it
Well the Acura TLX type S is beautiful
@@scottbeaz Lotus Emira is beautiful, unfortunately you can't get one
@scottbeaz Yes it is. Except for that front overhang I love it.
Good overview, Sofyan. Like the styling and interior design of this new Cadillac. Now if Lincoln would only make the Chinese market Zephyr available in the United States, that would be awesome..... but Lincoln as a brand is on life support
Problem with the all glass roof (RDX) is the glass expands and contracts in the sun / cold and have created problems with leaks. This is a great way to circumvent that possible issue in the future.
i would rather buy a vehicle without a sunroof especially a dual sunroof. Just problems down the road after the vehicle ages.
Hard to believe we're just over 3 months from 2024, so 2025 will be here quick
I feel like time is flying even more so now than ever
Crazy
Its nice that they've finally updated the interior to accommodate the Escalade's screen. But I wish they would implement metal buttons for the row of buttons underneath the screen.
They should also replace the 2.0t with the 2.7t. 237 hp may seem quite a bit. But that thing is seconds slower than its intended competitors. The discontinued 2.0t Malibu is quicker than this thing by almost a second. The BMW 330i is about 1.5 secs quicker. It only has 20 odd more hp. Granted that also BMW hp so in reality its closer to 280 maybe 290 hp.
The 2.7 from the Silverado/Tahoe with a mild hybrid would be amazing in this
It is a daily commuter! We need better mpg not 0-60s time! We need hybrid!!!!!!!1
@@troytruong8246
No, when the CT5's 2.0t is barely able to outpace a 2007 Malibu SS. The power needs to be increased. Hell it has less power than the 2007 Malibu. These cars are for the ego. It would be ego shattering to pull up to a stoplight and have a 16 year old car keeping up with you. But if they apply the E-Ray's hybrid tech to the 2.0t. We could see an improvement to both the 0 to 60 and fuel economy best of both worlds.
I agree, most of the buttons & switches throughout the interior are still plastic, same with other models like the Escalade. Metal buttons & switches would nice to see, or even a piano black finish. Basically anything looks more upscale than plain matte black plastic... The buttons & switches in the upcoming Caddilac EV's look a whole lot nicer than what's in the current gas versions.
Thank you, Sofyan. The refresh looks great and that Radiant Red Tintcoat is such a gorgeous colour. I have a 2024 CT4-V on order in this same Radiant Red.
The CT4 is beautiful. I was torn between it and the VW GTI. Got the GTI because of the hatch. But the CT4 is a great car.
I love my 2020 CT5 I’ve owned it almost 4years and get compliments all the time 👍
Redline Reviews make the best videos ever :)
Huge improvement over previous interior. Really like the doors too. Now looks worth the price. More so.
You were pretty brutal in your comparison video of the 2023 (against the g70 maybe?). I hope the V is coming soon.
They've already confirmed updated V and V BW to be announced later
I’ll be getting the V sport version of this.
Beautiful car inside and out.
Great video, Sofyan. The car is beautiful. Do all Cadillacs come with Magna shocks?
Beautiful car inside and out. Wonderful job Cadillac. Keep knocking it out of the park.
Looks good! I wish Lincoln offered the Zephyr here from China :/ That sedan is gorgeous.
I think ct5 should come with a LT1 engine option.
Old style looks better on side front end view then the new 2025 style. The new design looks like the ct4 front end
Love it beautiful. I think this is my next car after Im done with my 2023 BMW 3 series.
Can’t wait to get mine!
I will be getting this model. I miss driving a sedan.
I have a RWD 2023 CT5-V (with the 3.0TT) and it is the best handling car I've ever owned. At first, I didn't like the changes to the front clip for the 2025 but it is growing on me. Ditto the infotainment display. If this refresh shows up on the Blackwing, I might just be persuaded to trade up before this model (sadly) disappears.
The new dash looks great. But, wait until you have to replace it !! I had to replace CUE in an older SRX and that set me back almost $1000. The service writer and I were joking about the dash in the new Escalade. You would probably need to take out a home equity loan to replace that.
That facia update isn't great. The split lights on the current model balanced out the visual height that the floating bumper caused. The new design adds to it and makes it look bulky and disjointed. I understand that the Lyriq now leads their design language, but this isn't a good execution. Still, it's great that Caddy builds two RWD sport/executive sedans.
You realize this isn't the final design necessarily and changes can be made by the time it rolls out.....
@@truckercowboyed2638 you realize this is the pre-production phase and the only changes that will be made are minute refinements of colors or software...
I agree. I don't like this new design language that Caddilac is moving to. This is the beginning of the end of clean, simple, awesome looking Caddilac's...
I like my 20' CT5-V front exterior much better. Could use the wide digital display screen tho
Very very nice. I will take a test drive.
It's about time Cadillac get these digital displays inside the interior that's way overdue
Does anyone know if the sunroof will have the option to not have that split down the middle? Kind of like the 2023 ct5?
That is a great looking car probably the best looking car and its segment
caddilac ct5 is one of my favorite cars
I like it, i had a 2024 XT4 loaner thats similar on the interior with the AKG stereo. The AKG stereo doesn't sound near the quality of the Bose.
I wonder if the CT5 Vs will get a power bump?
Looks great now they need to do something with the xt5 especially under the hood.
Unless you live in China, don't count on it. 2024 is the last model year for the XT5 in North America
Do you know if 2025 ct4/ct4 blackwing get similar interior and exterior updates?
Sweet ride.
It's literally the same as the 2020 model with a long display across the dash lol.
Exactly lol the interior looks the same aside from the screen - It's funny how Cadillac discontinued the full sized CT6 years ago and still using its front end design on UPCOMING models that aren't out yet... This new front end looks exactly like the refreshed/discontinued 2019-2020 CT6.
@@Stressless2023But on the flip side, one could look at it and say “the CT6 still looks fresh like these new Cadillacs” lol!
@@ATRichard True - If I was a CT6 owner I'd probably appreciate Cadillac keeping the design of my defunct car current and fresh lol.
That would be correct. It’s a refresh (MCE) not a redesign.
This is a very attractive car. I like it just this way without a real spoiler.
No wood trim in the premium luxury model? Can’t have a luxury car without wood trim
Will they continue to offer Velocity Red for next year?
HOLY an LED Reverse light... finally.
Wow, this car looks better than the new Cadillac SUVs. They came out with this year. Specially, the front end of the car.
Wow so classy
Love the new interior, but I wish they kept the old front end design.
I'm going to buy it ❤
Review AFTER 2 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP!
I purchased my 2022 CT5 in August 2022. Saying that my experience owning this vehicle has been a nightmare is an understatement. Here are the list of major repairs/replacements I’ve had within 2 years of owning; Engine Head Gasket, Transmission Transfer Case, entire Transmission assembly, front Seat lumbar units, steering wheel boot, interior door trim panels, O2 Sensors, and so on. All of this has been replaced within less than 2 years of owning this vehicle. I had decided to purchase my first ever car from Cadillac as the brand stood for luxury and reliability. I put my hard earned money, and that too quiet a lot of it, towards this car. If I had known what I was in for, I would’ve went for Cadillac’s competition. It’s a shame because the CT5 is a very good looking vehicle and it drives nice. However the amount of Repairs and unreliability overshadows the whole experience. Looks can be deceiving! If you’re in the market for a new luxury vehicle, I’d take a one good look at this vehicle, admire its good looks, maybe even sit in it or take some photos and then proceed to purchase a German or a Japanese competitor brand!
Im about to purchase a 2024 V non BW
I think i might wait now
About damn time
Much better infotainment system! The previous one was straight out of Equinox.
At least put the old CTSV Sport 420hp engine in these or up the HP. My 23 CTV AWD 360hp has me rethinking my decesion not going BMW M3 COMP 510hp
Will it have ambient lighting?
Probably on the highest trims, yes.
Yes
This with supercruise 😍
Any luck on the Range Rover LWB 7 seater?
Maybe I’ll buy one 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👍🏾
What happed to the 2024? no refresh?
Idk man, looks the same to me.
The dash design is built around the wide screen from escalade honestly they could've integrated it better but it lools like an afterthought to me.
Beautiful car
Wonder if they fixed the cue issues!
I like it....ah - ah - lot - ah. Reliability issues?
everything new is well forgotten old. Remove the vertical and horizontal stripes on the headlights, they will look like the headlights of the previous cts. And the car as a whole looks fresh and attractive
Wow! That auto show looks like it's lost the glory it once had. Times have changed.
Most of the design is good, but 2 things really detract for me. 1)The DRLs remind me of melting icicles and 2)The C pillar looks like a Honda Civic.
They really screwed up the front end and made it look like the 7 year old CT6 front end. Taking steps backward instead of forward.
Now it’s more oriented to Chinese market
One thing that pisses me off in GM is the lack of back seat AC controls! Even base model bmw 3 series have that option, I mean Damn is it that hard to add 4 extra buttons or so?
How much
I wish there was a hybrid or plug in version. I can get 30MPG and 550miles range on my 2014 CTS. But my next car will be electric, for that 120mpg equivalent efficiency.
Electric cars suck
2025? How about we finish with 2023 first. Baby steps.
Oh wow so great 👍 and very beautiful 🤩❤️ and the engine 🚂🚒 very strong and powerful and very good design with the new 🆕 technology for the new 🆕 generation hument and very easy to drive and comfortable with the safety 🦺❤.
Chrome accents on the exterior with carbon fiber accents on the interior seems a little unusual
I like it, but it doesn't appear to have much headroom-a common Cadillac shortcoming
Oh, when will we get the option to eliminate those horrible run flat tires? Nice to see the panoramic sunroof comeback.
The XT5 need an upgrade to the exterior! 😩
I'm eyeballing that Lucid Air in the background...
👍👍👍
I don't get why the 3.0 TT Engine in this car makes 335hp & 405 ft lbs torque. Then the V-Series 3.0TT makes 360 up & 405 ft lbs torque. I've been driving a CT5-V Series for a year & love the car. I just never found the 405 ft lbs torque this engine puts out? In a car this size, that should hit you in the back noticeably harder than most cars. It doesn't ever?
我等了太久
The non V has a very rough ride as it does not have the magnetic suspension.
I like it but, I have a 2012 CTS that same color. If I drove past most people I know and waived I doubt they would realize I'm driving a new car.
Naw that front end looks completely different.
Doesn't appear much has changed. Only exterior change is front facia and headlights. Only interior change is new display screen.
2022
What about the other half of this car? you know, the good stuff; chassis, suspension, steering, RWD & AWD and the engine/transmission. Are the 2.0L & 3.0L engines DOHC?
I think it would look better with black wheels.
3:16 the huge blacker out C- pillar triangle screams cheap. The chrome beak isn't helping.
Yeah, I'd prefer that area to be body colored.
Ct5 is great if your a small person not good for bigger people
Man the car sits very high. But very nice tho!
TapOut makes /sells Swift springs that lower the car about an inch and works with the stock magnetic ride suspension. Pics on thier site. it looks great lower
Anyone cross shop this with Acura TLX Type S?
What happened to 2024?
Idk, but something is still...off to me about the interior. 🤔 It's like they just said hey let's just throw a curved screen in here and call it a day.
