Fixing An Old Traffic Light & Installing A Galak Electronics VG-305D Controller Sequencer

- Bought an old, broken, obsolete traffic light off Nextdoor for $25. In this video I pull out the unnecessary wires and install a new sequencer I bought off Amazon. These old lights make great decorations for man caves, garages, parties, or even night clubs.
The controller I used is a Galak Electronics VG-305D model.

Definitely a California traffic signal. They usually hang, especially this one with a thin arch mast arm and the fitting where it connects to the signal was between the amber and red. Those full circle visors are a dead giveaway.
Thank You for explaining so well . I’m going to try in the near future.
The round visors are a tell that it probably came from California. The "junction box" is just a termination strip. The type of bulb the these large 12" signals used were 150 watt clear traffic signal types (rated for 5000 or more hours of use). The smaller 8" signals used a 69 watt clear traffic light bulb. It's better to do the proper LED modules if you go that route some day because they are designed for long life in traffic lights. Household LED bulbs are junk for these type of projects. I am glad you didn't break the traffic signal collectors cardinal rule by drilling into the body of the signal to route the power cable. So many people destroy the value of signals by doing that. There are no ground wires in traffic lights (these are AC not DC). The white wires are neutral and colored wires are considered hot.
A 2" pipe and flange would easily fit into that mount and allow you to put the light on a wall
I got the same sequence but how u change the time
I left mine on the default setting. Did you get the instructions with yours?
@@MikeFindsThings yes, but it seems like it won’t turn
