“Do you know what’s wrong with this country? Laziness.” Rich for president
Start the campaign 🇺🇸
“You’re going to have to learn to count & read or play outside and learn to do real things.” So many quotes that got my vote
Overhere in the Netherlands to!!!
@@user-cj8kz1dq3yYou have got some work to do on improving your grammar and spelling.
I’d vote for Rich for sure 👍🏻🇺🇸
In everything he does, you can see love, passion, and determination. An example for all people. 💪🏽
So cool. My Dad ran Leadville back in the 90s, and he's been my fitness inspiration ever since, and the reason I became a Coach & Trainer- love seeing the Legends of our sport using their fitness for other sports/challenges!
Love it!!
Rich is living the absolute dream. What a life. Can’t wait to see him compete at Fresh Coast and Leadville!
It’s awesome seeing the stuff Rich is doing even though he’s not competing this year. The bike stuff is really cool, hunting and the Froning Farms content is too. Being versatile and actually using your fitness for life is where it’s at! Thank you Mayhem team!
Thanks for watching!
8:16 Does he have random sheds in the woods for water refills? That would be pretty awesome
Leadville is the 2nd hardest Mountain Bike Race in the World..... Right behind the Mayhem On The Mountain 2 Person 12 Hour race.
You've got that right 😅 iykyk
I've done Leadville....Make sure you get some elevation training in. Mount Columbine was no joke. I honestly didn't understand what was happening to my brain at that elevation. It is a beautiful area.
We’d love to see the e-book! How are you approaching the technical discrepancy between The Rocky Mountains and Cookeville?
It’s a hot day . I felt that . Living in north east Florida right now …. Humid hot morning bike rides but all good . Just get it done .
🥵🥵🥵
This man is fuckin living legend!
Respected all over the world.
Can't wait to see you back in Michigan on Saturday at FreshCoast!
I love the laugh after the Bluey as Trice hahahah
What a epic race! My wife and I did it on a tandem. You will kill it!
What a beautiful home🤞🏾
“Is this something you wanted to do, or just something you’re doing for the kids?”
Rich: “what do you think Ben?” Haha
Y’all need to do a plaid shirt with cut off sleeves with “Original Froning” embroidered on the back in gold in Coors script font.
Now that's an idea
Come ride in Chattanooga! I’ll show you around!!
Epic shit, absolutely love it ! You the man. ❤
@specializedbicycles get this man on a Diverge
2 pieces of toast for breakfast, fried chicken for lunch, while training 2 times a day w/ sub 10% bodyfat = JUICED TO THE GILLS
No sh*t, he also has a family and multiple businesses. If he didn’t take juice he’d die from exhaustion
That house!
Proper stunner
Legendary passion
Hardest single 1 day MTB race in America is Marji Gesick in Michigan. 105 miles and 12k ft of climbing and 90% singletrack in the UP of Michigan. Their modo is doing hard things, pushing limits and Finish what you start. Marji hsa 60% DNF rate and most pro's that complete Leadville in 6 hrs, takes them 10hrs for Marji. Leadville is tough race as well due to the elevation, weather, and length. I am attempting the Marji in September this year for the first time. Good Luck on the race!! Friend on mine racing Leadville for the 9th year in a row.
Would love to see Rich do Unbound 200.
I can attest to that Buffalo Brew DOES taste good!
Hopefully he gets that indy spark again😅
He’s got a family and already proved himself as #1 even better than Fraser , I think it’s cool he’s doing the team stuff and mountain biking
man back in the day we used to do so much up on Fifer Mt we ran the bluffs like we were on top of the world
Getting under 9 hours from the back at Leadville is dam near impossible. Your only chance is to absolutely hammer the first 3 miles out of town to where the single track starts otherwise you will be pinned behind hundreds of people on that first climb. It sounds crazy to start a 100 mile race with a 3 mile sprint but it's the only way to get out in front. I'll be rooting for you!
Good to know 😬 going to be a challenge for sure
1000% this!!!
I did it about 10 years ago and started towards the back and wondered why everyone was sprinting at the beginning.
The minute we hit that first little climb….. got stuck in a big line of people walking their bikes.🤦♂️
@@BlackLoboCycling Exactly, It took me 75 minutes to do the first climb and two days earlier I did it in 40 minutes at a moderate pace. They just let to many people do the race so they can make more money on it.
They have wave starts nowadays. Do not take the advice of going out hard. If you go into the red at that altitude, you will not finish. Steady at YOUR all day pace is the only way to go. That way, you will spend the day passing all the riders that went out hard and blew up.
@@mikewikstrom3416 Yeah absolutely do not start by sprinting for the first 3 miles. At altitude, this is probably the worst thing you can do.
Really hoping to see some good content from this race, I hope Rich kills it! So cool to see him doing this.
My mom does the same thing with a towel on her seats 😂
need to get rich a camel back (water hydration system)… awesome vid
Always liked this dude.
Froning for President!
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Rich is the Beast Titan of all Beast Titans!
💪
Boys you’re Surround by trees!!! Cut a couple poles, jam into grass staple sheet to it. Javelin contest with tree poles the next day.
Easy!
Not sure if I missed a video or something , but what happened to the workouts in the barn?
Wish we could see Rich do something intellectually and physically tough. Like the race that requires land navigation
any promos for the buffalo brew?
Rich for president i’d vote for him
whitch kind of camera is driffting focus like this in the firt scenes??
i do not know if im the only person here that want to clean his shoes jaja love u rich
Michael Jordan of crossfit!
South African Cape Epic, toughest MTB race
As a thrower I am dying to see an Overhead shotput throw at the games! Men using the 16lb obviously and women using the 4k obviously.
Now there’s an event 👀
Anyone know the name of that remote control plane?
Pls can I have the link for the bag he was have it on his ride.
Us men will find a way when it comes to our family!!
Would love to see him compete in something like the BC Bike Race. 7 day stage race with 182 total miles and 25,400 feet of climbing.
So, what sport does this guy play?
What is that left wrist band he is wearing?
If I looked like Rich, I would never wear a shirt either.
whats the brand of that plane you flew???
I was wondering the same!
Bro what brand is that jet drone 😂
🙌🏽
What is bracelet??
Cracks me up how Rich talks to Trice. He's definitely learning to be a s*** talker
😅
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Best yard.
Elite
AMAZING CUT JOB!!!
When are we going to get a day in the life of Ben Davidson, the man behind the lens?
cycling is a lot harder than people think...at least on the elite levels...
When is Leadville?
August 12th!
Who saw the post on IG and ran straight over?!
Us 🙋♂️
biking at elevation is going to be a painful lesson for you Rich. If you're not already out in CO training at elevation, then there is no way you will get sub 9hr!
He got 08:32:58
We can now report back that you are incorrect.
congratulations!@@CFProjectMayhem maybe we'll see you on a gravel bike next?
You’re what’s known as a hater. He’s a fitness beast bro pretty sure he beat the 9hr easily
Relax Cody, it was a bit of light encouragement. elite athletes are motivated by people telling them what they can't do. My advice is still sound. Proper Acclimatization would have netted a better result than 8 hours 32 minutes. I'm happy Rich is out there biking! maybe he'll stick around and bring some other crossfitters over. More bikers = better @@cody5631
Went from talking about his asshole to Bible app real quick 😂
the Hutch jersey. #onepride
My kids were the one’s that told me Bluey was a girl so I ain’t mad at moms.
Free Sevan!
Что за браслет у него?
Did this twice. Pace carefully. Powerline climb breaks strong riders who don't respect Columbine.
Best for luck.
Did he race Leadville without a jersey?
This guy is so based, i fucking love it!
Crossfit incorrectly states that their championship are "world's fittest." That is obviously false if you consider endurance as fitness, because that is evaluated with relative VO2 Max. Given their weight, which is comparable with Olympic rowers who have a relative VO2 Max of about 60, I would estimate it to be in the 60's (Olympic rowers have the highest absolute VO2 Max, but weigh 100+kg). The top male endurance athletes are in the 90's (cross country skiers) with cyclists just behind in the low 90's and 80's. Any male professional cyclist has a higher VO2 Max than these Crossfit athletes, not to mention the top women cyclists and runners. I also did a comparison of top Crossfit athlete published mile times with the 1500m times of Olympic decathletes. When adjusted for the 109m difference, the fastest Crossfit athlete is about 30 seconds slower than the slowest 1500m Decathlete in the Olympic games.
This argument has only taken into account endurance. The reason CrossFit claims the champion as the world's fittest is because in theory that athlete can be better at endurance tests than a weightlifter or gymnast, but better at weightlifting and gymnastics than an endurance athlete. The point is to be really good at everything, but not to specialize in anything. Hopefully that clears things up.
@@CFProjectMayhem No it does not clear things up. Endurance is a very important aspect of fitness and it is evaluated across different disciplines by relative VO2 Max. The fact that Crossfit champions have low VO2 Max as compared to amateur cyclists, runners and cross country skiers implies that their endurance is subpar and thus cannot in any way be considered "The fittest on Earth." VO2 Max has been used for decades as an objectively verifiable comparison among different sports, but now Crossfit claims that they are fitter than all other athletes without giving any objective measure for comparison. Crossfit should provide an objective measure for comparison to back up their claim of "fittest on Earth."
With that rationalization Eliud Kipchoge should be the worlds fittest but a crossfitter would be able to lift 2-3 times what Eliud could but Eliud can’t run a marathon 2-3 times faster than a crossfitter. Plus marathon runners tend to age faster so the muscle benefit is more than just aesthetics. Just my humble opinion

I didn't realize Bluey was a girl for a long time either.
He's only 36.
No enough money for a T-Shirt bro?
I've been a cyclist for 20 years, several 100's under my belt. Based on this video, he may finish, but his emotions and body are going to be taxed heavily. Cycling is not crossfit, it's pain management for 9+ consistent hours, mechanical failures, injuries and less muscle and more lungs. He has a lot of muscle to carry up and down that mountain. He needs to drop some weights and spend a lot more time in the saddle. Has anyone ever noticed how skinny cyclists are? Squatting 405 pounds is very different than turning the granny gears on a steep climb. 😢
There is a Leadville training website that states that if your FTP/(weight in kg) is 3.0, then you can go under 12 hours on a good day. Since he weighs about 90kg, that would mean an FTP of 270W, which is certainly what he has now. It also says sub 9 hours on a perfect day with 4.0, which would be 360W for him. Unclear whether he is at that level. Search for "Leadville FTP."
@@ilanpi like I said I wish him all the luck in the world and I hope he finishes the race. Endurance racing at that level is very different that sudden bursts of power like crossfit. Doing the Murph challenge is nothing like a high altitude race. 45 minutes versus 9 hours of non stop physical activity at a high heart rate is no joke. Intense suffering for a prolonged period of time is very different than squatting, deadlifting and jumping rope. Not to mention the altitude, exhaustion and the breakdown of motor skills when oxygen isn't flowing through your system, meal program to restore calories is or is not correct, emotional and mental breakdowns, bike mechanical breakdowns. great analysis on your part.
100% 2.5 hours is not a long ride. We do 6+ hour rides as long rides in preparation for Leadville. I’m talking at altitude with over 7k feet on the ride
I just realized that the endurance of Crossfit athletes can be quantified by their performance on the Concept 2 rowing machine. In the 2018 Crossfit games, the winner of the half marathon had a pace of 1:53 per 500m. According to the Concept 2 website, that translates to 242 Watts. This took 1 hour 27 minutes, so the FTP is actually higher but certainly under 300W. Rich Froning was second in that half marathon. Note that they regularly train on the rowing machine and are therefore familiar with its technical demands. Assuming an FTP of 300 and bodyweight 90kg, that gives a ratio of 3.3. Standard tables show that this corresponds to Category 4 US amateur male bike racers. There are 5 categories with 5 the beginners, 3 the average and 1 a US elite, still generally below Tour de France participants. Froning therefore likely has less long term power to weight ratio than average amateur male bike racers. Power/weight is crucial for events with a lot of climbing, as is the case for the Leadville 100. The power/weight estimates for Leadville indicate that finishing in under 12 hours is already problematic for a value of 3.3. It would be interesting to test Froning for FTP and VO2 Max to find out the actual values.
Nice muscle, but that will certainly be a detriment in an event like Leadville.
Bluey is horrible show for kids
