Totally agree. That’s part of the reason why the EF Education alternative tour was so fun to watch a few years ago. Those two and phinney. Love rewatching it
Peter saying “When is the luck going to run out about Keegan we’re fighting words” He puts the work in and doesn’t worry about aerobars or the spirit of gravel you Boulder hippie.
100%. Stetina thinks that the field should bow to him because he was a wOrLd ToUr PrO and that Keegan beats him because he's lucky. That arrogance is why I enjoy seeing him get beat every race.
World tour….sooo what. He’s a gross skinnny climber. If you look at these cyclist on the street you would say what skinny introverted geeks. In flannels
@@itstrboLuck is always a factor, but I think most of it is skill - selecting the right components, setting them up correctly, and finding a riding style that is fast but safe for your tires. That's all skill, and Keegan is one of the best at it.
fingers crossed everyone gets through these races mechanical free. But you're right, it's easy to forget that bad luck is right around the corner for anyone competing!
Great vid. But disappointed to not hear a little kudos to John Gaston finishing on the podium. They only mention him in passing. He's a great story. This is not his primary sport. This amounts to off-season cross training for his World Cup skimo racing, and he's got a full-time job running Strafe Outerwear. And he's sprinting for 2nd and beating former World Tour riders...? That's impressive.
Love these Lifetime Grand Prix videos!! Great coverage, interesting personal stories! Keegan is absolutely amazing!! Lachy is also one of my favorites!! Much admiration for all!!
Just watched again...the storytelling/editing on this is absolutely elite. Kudos to the production team. If this episode alone were on Netflix I have no doubt that it would go viral.
That inquiry to Alexey about never being the best was just completely disrespectful. How dare you ask a professional at the top of his career such and insulting question. That journalist needs to be singled out. Props to Alexey for keeping his cool and moving forward.
40:08 "I also don't think it's going to continue all the time" -- perfect that the footage at this point is Cole Patton. At age 27 (in 2024) he's the guy that has the best chance of consistently beating Keegan (age 30). Almost all the other names are in their 30's, they're not going to beat Keegan. Though my UA-cam watching self has to hope for one Dylan Johnson miracle win just for the backward hat entertainment.
Thanks for the note, we're always looking to hear directly from our participants! There are 7 different qualifiers for LT100 MTB. Find more info at leadvilleraceseries.com!

HOT DAMN. Banger of an episode! BIG UPS to that guy Tobin, what a bro. The Q & A with Alexey, perfect question for the perfect bloke. Who put this together?? This video is brilliant. I'm going riding.
It's funny they talk about tactics in this race as if it's something new. Thats how the old record was set in the first place, it was a multi-person paceline
Thanks for watching - he's featured in many of the episodes as he's not only riding at the front, but so great at sharing the stoke so many feel when racing these epic events!
Hey! Hope you're liking what you see. All 6 episodes of Season 2 were released on the same date, so maybe head over to the Life Time Grand Prix channel page and hit refresh, you should see both Season 1 and 2 listed for you - reach back out if you need further help!
@@mitchellsteindler LT100 is relatively smooth for a mountain bike race course, but has lots of rock and several rutted fast downhill sections that are too much for a gravel bike.
I love this series. I really do. And I love the athletes, the races and all the beautiful people who created this. And that's why this makes me a bit sad: To me, the sound and music of the production is just so over the top with its non-stop intensity. It's exhausting to watch. I mean it's just incessantly epic and hardcore, even when athletes are giving interviews about their difficult situations or when we're just trying to follow the pack on the initial parts of the course. Am I the only one who feels this way? Does everything have to be either utterly dramatic drums and strings or crescendoing inspirational piano pieces? It's like the audio actually ends up being distracting and takes away from how dramatic and inspirational what we are witnessing actually is. It creates sort of an empty sense of constant pump and hype that's just impossible to keep up over the course of the episodes. Instead, I end up a bit apathetic.
He's done those two and more, actually. His World Cup MTB experience goes back quite a while and has included the Road World Championships just over a year ago. Keep an eye on him, like his LTGP competitors, he's no slouch!
I never heard of Keegan Swanson before the Gravel Worlds. I was impressed that an american came in 4th. If he is so great, why isn't he racing in the pro peleton? I guess maybe he is making more money racing gravel in the states then racing in Europe?? Better to be a big fish in a small pond maybe? I guess I just don't see the big deal?
I think he likes racing off road. He comes from a mountain bike background so far as I know. Been national champion in MTB and Gravel. Perhaps that's his main thing?
The documentary is not gritty or real enough. It feels too fabricated. Drop the dramatic music and focus more on the people riding. Also, the Cape Epic is streamed live on UA-cam. It is a challenge to do live coverage of Ultra Events but maybe have a look at what the South African media teams are doing to make it happen.
Let’s be honest here, we need a Howes/Lachy reality show to be spun off out of this. Who’s not watching that?!
I couldn’t agree more
Totally agree. That’s part of the reason why the EF Education alternative tour was so fun to watch a few years ago. Those two and phinney. Love rewatching it
10/10 would watch that.
EF ran a whole series with them for a number of years
I’d watch it!

The respect that these riders have for each other is awesome to see. That is so rare in professional pursuits and speaks volumes for their character.
No doubt, very cool to see.
So different to roadies
Love that they are waiting for Keegan's luck to run out. Except it’s not luck it’s just skill.

Keegan is in their head, until they get over that mental block, he’s going to keep winning.
Lechlan has life dialed in 🤙🏽
Yes, he does..
That guy is doing things right.
Yea, but why is he cooking with armorall on the stovetop? Lol
How do they make money to support themselves after they are done with pro contact’s and sponsorship runs out?
Pretty bummed we didn’t get a Tushar vid in this season.
We love Crusher!
And yet...
I can’t wait to watch Keegan eventually flat. And still win.

Great series. Really disappointing that the Tushar Crusher didn’t get its own full episode.
Glad you're a Crusher fan as well...look for a show highlighting all that Beaver and the Tushar's have to offer this season!

Is there any single track at Leadville? It seems like a gravel bike would be better than a mountain bike.
You think keegan is intentionally riding a slower bike?

Wonder how Keegan would do at a World Cup Xco race
Keegan raced the World Cup circuit for quite a few years as a young rider all the way to elites. Drop him a note or come say hi at an event this year!
More race coverage, less opinions.
They want to make it as much as possible about the drama and the fluff.
Keegan needs to go race against The world best al cape epic or world cups
He's done those two and more, actually. His World Cup MTB experience goes back quite a while and has included the Road World Championships just over a year ago. Keep an eye on him, like his LTGP competitors, he's no slouch!
Not enough riding. To much drama talk. I’ve done Leadville 5 times. So many spots there to get exciting footage.
Keep an eye out for this year's LTGP events!
Agree. Don't need to watch people brewing coffee and eating bowls of Muesli.
I really don’t know why if they knew Keegan wanted the record they all didnt make him do all the work on the flats at the start.
As you saw, his teammate was able to support so that didn't happen. So many dynamics at play in a race that's 100mi/160km long at altitude!
Quick Question, can someone tell me if this is specifically "not road racing" or not? I can't seem to remember and I'm often confused.
🫥
Of course you're going to get road racing tactics in a race that's essentially a gravel race.
Keegan we gotta see you go up against the World Tour guys. I want to see tatted mullet Keegan up against Jonas, Sepp, Wout, VdP, and Tadej
