@@piotrmbukowski You can go up that high, but just try doing that if your official proprietary system drive fails. It will require you to make a system drive with a max of 32GB for game saves and the like. It is trying to treat it as a official memory module at that point. My Fat 360 will format storage that is USB connected above that 32GB limit. I have a slim as well. If the onboard flash is officially intact then it will not have a low limit on extra drive size. So at the minimum a person will need a memory module, or an official drive.
I still play my 360 from time to time. I’m curious to see if your still able to download digital Xbox 360 titles to an Xbox 360 console. that were bought on something like a series s.
I got an Xbox 360 last year for this very reason. I got it so that I could get the Sonic 06 DLC before it was too late, and I'm glad I did, because even with the game's lack of quality, there was still some unique fun to be had with the DLC. I also grabbed the Fancy Pants Adventures from the XBLA, which was nice because it stands out from the Fancy Pants Flash games. Other than that, I got a few backwards-compatible games.
Surprised that nobody has done an equivalent to the archive "stores" that are available for Nintendo and Sony consoles. Such a shame to see so many Xbox 360 DLC, updates, and digital games (XBLA and XBLA indie games come to mind) be launched straight into the sun.
Was disappointed to find the store is only now shutting down... heard it was shutting down months ago, but that was likely the marketplace. Going to try and buy some DLCs and avatar stuff since that's about all I can afford now :(
Avatar Marketplace has two sections ● Lifestyle Marketplace ● Games Marketplace (Outfits from games etc) I had the Xbox 360 Elite and bought the OG Wifi Adapter with 1 antenna In my MW3 Xbox 360 I have 500GB internal HDD 2TB External HDD Both Official Xbox branded flashdrives by SanDisk 8GB and 16GB
I really hope that eventually when the store is down that we will be able to easily mod the console and install games on the hard drive and run emulators and such. I would hate to not be able to do much with my 360 slim console.
no dont worry, in the end "only" 200 approx of the "arcade" games will disappear after July2024 an only a part of them are really worth for one's taste
My favorites are Bloody Good Time, Charlie Murder, Battleblock Theater, Fez, Super Meat Boy, Spelunky, Nights Into Dreams (which has a couple older physical releases, none of which are the HD remaster, and only 1 is English), and Dungeon Defenders. Girl Fight and Monkey Island were okay. Nothing spectacular but fun enough. Otherwise I always wanted to try The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile, The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai, Naughty Bear: Panic in Paradise, Small Arms, Blade Kitten, and Bastion (though I'd prefer a physical release, and PS4 has that). Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons also got a physical release on Xbox One, and used to be a digital only game. So that's awesome it got a physical release to save it from digital obscurity, cuz that's a great game as well. Part of me wants to grab them, but the other part of me reminds me I've had to re-purchase a few items that got "lost" from my purchase history. And I've had issues with re-downloading items that Xbox removed from the store before. Like Mafia II was a free game with Gold, got it. Then they removed it and when I went to redownload it, it couldn't because the store page didn't exist. Even from my purchase history page, it couldn't find a way to download the game. Later they re-added it and I was able to download it, but this makes me skeptical of how well the re-downloading feature will work if they remove the store, even if Microsoft says it will work. I've experienced different stories.
Mass Effect 3 multiplayer on 360 has a lot of people still playing. There is a mandatory update and content downloads that must happen before you can find a lobby with anyone... will be a sad day without the slow trickle of new players or returning players who are trying to reinstall later on. I wonder how this will work for back compat 360 games for DLC and title updates, as you still have to buy/DL through the BC dash.
I was thinking when they shut down the 360 will it still be able to access the internet? If so people would be able to download all kinds of mods without worrying about their consoles getting band.

Back when producers didn’t (always) force games to be created too quickly. Gaming today is nothing but a business. And it’s a dying business.
"Golden age" was whatever age you grew up in. It had way more great games than any era after it but it was the start of the decline, heralded by horse armor for Oblivion.
I'm doing my shopping spree tonight
It's so sad seeing everything leave for good
That Wi-Fi adapter on the back is worth a lot of money.
Not really. My local retro game store sells them for $15
I payed 1500 Microsoft points for marvel vs Capcom 2 10 + years ago ...and it's not backwards compatible.😢
Make sure you download it.
Cause you're not gonna find a physical copy for under $30.
@@RealGreyGhost you can go into download history and it will be htere after closure
I remember getting a set of chaos emeralds as a reward from one of the sonic games, good times.
This is from the Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 avatar marketplace store.
It's nice to see people remembering the Xbox Avatar items.
I just made MS aware of a bug in the marketplace that won't let you purchase certain titles and sale pricing not being applied to certain games. Hopefully it's fixed before the shutdown.
What I'd LOVE to see is the expansion content for Forza Horizon 1-3 come back to purchase.
never going to happen all those cars and tracks are licensed and licenses expire
If your 360 is modded, you can get basically all the DLC for any game that exists - provided you know where to look.
Great video Jacob!
Had my xbox 360 arcade since late 2005 i was 2 years old when my aunt gave me it and halo 2, i played it every day 18 plus hours a day, i recently bought a 1 tb harddrive 4 years ago, and downloaded nearly 300 games and dlcs
300 games DANG
They shouldn't take it down yet
I wish they'd made all Xbox 360 and OG Xbox games backwards compatible before choosing to shut down the Xbox 360 marketplace.
Pissed off that I can't buy anything on my end and the store isn't closed yet technically it won't let me.
Can you contact Microsoft to fix the issue
I happen to watch this the day after I open up my 360 for some maintenance. Good timing
This is like going through a photo album.
Microsoft shouldn't be doing this. This console is so many people's gateway to console gaming and so many peoples final console. This gem should be preserved for as long as possible.
20 years is not long enough for you?
I normally play the games on Xbox 360 manually by inserting the disk I don't use the marketplace on it I play the games straight from actual store I just had it manually I was about 5 months old after this console release in 2005 I can't believe the Xbox 360 is almost 20 years old im the same age as the Xbox 360 I've had Xbox 360 when I was 14.
If you have The game Test Drive Unlimited 2 on Xbox 360 the DLC is still available until the store closing
I’m absolutely pissed that Bad Company 1 & 2 have been delisted. They’re were on GamePass and I had no idea they were gunna be removed.
I can never buy them digitally again now. Absolutely fuming.
I wish I still had my old 360. Now I have an Xbox one, ps2, ps4, ps5, psp and Nintendo Switch. Today is 05-15-2024
Is the psp any good?
Why is Microsoft doing this? Especially the avatar shop, that has a bug in the original avatar editor. Doesn’t mean it has to be shut down though.
The one thing i miss about the 360 era is the Xbox Indies, I've bought so many of those joints for like a dollar or two. 👍🏿👍🏿
Man I can't play castleminer z on my Xbox anymore smh
@@SupremeOraclemy 360 has red ring of death, can’t even buy indie games😔😔😔sad asf
@@SupremeOracle It's on steam if you really want to play it again
Piracy winning as always
@@SupremeOracle if you go to account and then download history you can redownload it. Just makes sure its the one that doesnt say "trial" you want the one that says "indie game"
Remember when you have to watch a trailer for an upcoming movie and after that they give you free stuff for the avatar?
All I really need is full access to their library when that long time comes for me to want to play them, especially anything the PS3 doesnt have already
torrent collections.
Flash drives aren't very reliable, I'd recommend using a SSD or Hard Drive for your digital games.
Time for RGH3
What's that?
Hacks
A chip to unlock modificatons like mod menus and free games
Get Aegis Wing, it's a free arcade game that was made by three Microsoft interns over a summer and it slaps for what it is.
My Xbox 360 got shut down long time ago, but it went turned an error. I don’t know what was wrong with it. I need help before it reaches by July
If it was a pre-Falcon xbox360 model maybe is dead. only the slims (S and E) proved to be reliable.. and maybe the Jasper ones but never tried :)
@@micheleraurorhi2021 so the only way to finish with the Xbox 360 I had to get S or E OK like I wanna know it will work because I took the Repair Shop and they just checked on the screen and it looks fine but now I can’t do that in my home. Do you think I do you think need a Boost, Wi-Fi or no I saw Amazon. I thought it might helped.
Jasper models are great I’ve got one since 2009 still use it regularly
Man that 360 you have brings back so many memories. I had the same fat white one with the dual band WiFi adapter. Except I had mine since 2007, right before they put hdmi in all models.
I still use my 360 for Netflix on my bedroom tv, I hope the Netflix app will still work after they shut down the marketplace.
I guess NO.. they say all the apps (xbox film, DailyMotion ,..) will stop
For people buying season passes. Make sure that if you do buy them, that you have the game ready. Otherwise you just paid for a code not content. As soon as you buy the season passes, play the game then start downloading the content from within the game itself. Games that have problems with season passes are
Assassins creed 3
Far cry 4
Rabbid invasions
Somehow the ubisoft servers lag out on these specific games. Games that didn’t have any problems with season passes are
Watch dogs
Assassins creed black flag
The evil within
It’s been an honor to help out anyone that still cared about this system. Hopefully this still helps
After the store shut down, I can still download games that I bought, is it?
yes
@@name-ni3jcah so is just for buying new things?
@@lussor1 The store loses its functionality. There is an official FAQ that states it is just purchases that are affected. Everythig else will remain intact (or that's what they claim).
I used to have the Xbox 360 Arcade Console, and I didn't have the Wifi adapter. I had an Ethernet Cord plugged in (It fried on me 2 years later)
Around November 2010, my dad bought me the Xbox 360 Slim as an early Christmas present, and it still works for me today 😊.
I've been buying themes and DLC for my games (for example: I recently bought all the DLC and theme for BulletWitch)
I'm going to miss the Xbox 360 Marketplace when it's gone 😢.
360 days are DONE🥲
Far from it
You can backup the games on your hard drive to a flash drive after the store closes right? Don't wanna spend the money on a big flash drive right now when I'm trying to save for games
I made only 1 backup of my games (150) splitted in two 360s because the game wont be lost anyway.. you'll be able to re-download after july your legit games :)
I just go with a couple of xbox 360, 120gb hardrives^^ cost me 5 bucks each 😀
And later on i just make an copy.
@@micheleraurorhi2021 well I’ve heard people say if your 360 HDD fails you can lose everything on it potentially
@@KongGig you backed up everything you have on 2 separate Hdd’s?

@FunnyOskarrI hope it is because it’s a like beggar
Can you like stop being trying to be getting attention by making really bad challenges only to get likes, these won't get you nothing anyway, no popularity, nothing. Cope with that. 😂
it will be *like beggar*
Madting sadting
Will see about that. Time ⏲️ ⏳️ will tell 😅 spoiler it has 49 likes 😂
9:20 Dont worry The Complitionist will do it for you
RIP when Microsoft was good and RIP it's best era it will never be matched
The biggest issue they did to 360 get rid of the blade dashboard
They should do a massive sale and watch how they make money off it all and finally enable it to be able to play your digital 360 games via PC app and on consoles. I ended uo buying a bigger hard drive for it because of the space
This is why you need a RGH or JTAG console in 2024.. copy disc data and you can play from the hard drive.
planning to try to revive my xbox 360 to play and buy stuff for my avatar, sad to see my favorite console go down but im sure the modding community will absolutely try to revive it
"We are sorry the title isnt available in your region" Thanks xbox I cant even play deathspank before shutdown..
You should still have access to your download history.
I think you still will they can't take that away from you as you can't play them anywhere else I don't own a XSX. I wish they would add my digital purchases from 360 to be able to play on the Xbox app on my PC
The one thing that makes me mad about this, is if they remove a game, they don't remove its store page. I tried to buy n+ on the 360 marketplace and the page was there, but apparently its no longer for sale
It's inconsistent. Some game have their pages removed, some don't. EA & Ubi remove pages.
Problem is you can't preview the themes. :/
Thanks for the video. I just wanted to mention that a bit of the Xbox Live Indie Games have not been preserved yet, and it seems they can't be re-downloaded. If anyone has any please put them on a flash drive and get in touch with the Video Game Preservation Collective
I still play 360, never used xbox live however, always offline
What games you play?
@@cheeseisgood17 Halo Reach, ODST, halo 3, halo wars, halo CE, mw1 2 and 3, Minecraft, splinter cell, terraria, Cod ghosts, army of two, halo 4, Lego star wars the complete saga, and maybe some others that I don't play often
Installing all your physical games to run faster off a flashdrive is definitely underrated!
I've had mine sinc forever, but I've never once connected it to the internet. I'm not sure I would even be allowed to make a new account.
Just connect to the internet bro don't need make account
Adding a payment method isn’t working anymore unless you already had one on your 360
Hi, I struggled too in the last months to add a payment thru web-based marketplace (EU region) but now I resolved (misteriously) using the console-store
USB is nice, but unless something changed, being limited to 32GB is not a nice way to waste a large ssd in a USB case. Now if they would allow transferring game installs to any 360 console. They better keep compatibility upgrades available.
2 TB is the limit now.
You won't really benefit from SSD.
You actually can
yep you can until July2024 but if you live in EU(like me) only thru the dashboard console-store I think
Yep you can, bought quite a few 360 and og Xbox titles on my Xbox one, and can download them on to my 360
@@Salvatore-xs I know about that too. I do that as well. I’m just curious if we’ll be able to continue to do that after the 360 store closes.
Which ones are worth buying sir?
You can still use it as a DVD plays game console
This is nostalgia in a nutshell. Gen Alpha would find this absolutely boring. "looks old". RIP 360. Best console ever made. There is no debate.
Going to try and buy some DLCs and avatar stuff since that's about all I can afford now :(
Avatar Marketplace has two sections
● Lifestyle Marketplace
● Games Marketplace (Outfits from games etc)
I had the Xbox 360 Elite and bought the OG Wifi Adapter with 1 antenna
In my MW3 Xbox 360 I have 500GB internal HDD
2TB External HDD
Both Official Xbox branded flashdrives by SanDisk 8GB and 16GB
I really hope that eventually when the store is down that we will be able to easily mod the console and install games on the hard drive and run emulators and such. I would hate to not be able to do much with my 360 slim console.
Oh man, I finally started catching up on that whole generation of gaming, and it's about to end...
So, the console with everything from the shop will cost fortune in near future? What to buy if we still can tho?
no dont worry, in the end "only" 200 approx of the "arcade" games will disappear after July2024 an only a part of them are really worth for one's taste
If you have a hard copy would you still be able to update the game after the servers are down? or would you have to play it with some bugs?
As far as i know you can like forza motorsport 3 and 4 if you buy hard copies with the 2 disc one dlc and one that plays the game you'll be ok other games i dont know
@@juwanhowardhll8019 thanks man was just wondering since I been buying hard copies of 360 games last couple months, I was just hoping once I put them in I'd be able to play them when I come back from vacation
yes on Microsoft site(I suggest everyone to check) its written that the games will be update-able after July
Most of the updates are for multiplayer.
@@Salvatore-xs oh ok good to know hopefully it won't be anything campaign based updates.
I just bought Metro 2033 for like 50 cents after having played it a decade ago and not finishing it. Finally I will be able to finish the game and get some cool achievements
Watching this video just reminded me that I still have a 360 somewhere😂 might have to scoop a few of those soon to be lost forever titles and put it back in storage
I just got my grandpas only 360 he had bought around the same time I bought mine and but don’t have anymore so when I connected his and it worked I cleaned it up and bought mw2 black ops and a new hard drive, still need cod 4 and gta 4
So when the store closes the physical copies will sky rocket right
Probably
i wanted a console for the most time, but the issue is that my parents arent buying me one. i want an xbox 360, which i really want.... and ill never get to experience xbox marketplace. wish i could have it right now..
I just dusted off my 360 after about 4 years of not playing it and it feels like it's on life support. It's crazy how this console that was once the king of consoles now feels like an outdated dinosaur.
Imagine if The Completionist (who’s preserved every game from the 3DS & Wii U world) would also preserve everything from the 360 realm such as game exclusives, props and accessories for Avatars, DLC content, themes and gamer pics.
I just picked up a Xbox elite console with 2 limited edition controllers I know the one is dragon age. & a box of 60+ games all complete with manuals etc for $30 all I had to do was change the thermal paste.
60 games and limited edition for just 30 bucks wow
Does this mean even if I get an xbox one to play rocksmith, I wont be able to get the DLC songs?
Do you have anymore of those wifi extenders that you have installed on the back of your 360? Or do you know where I could get one?
I am, that ,the PS3 and the PS4, I love my 360, and the marketplace will be sincerely missed.
GUYS !! It's your gamepass ultimate or some other subscription you might have that's blocking you from signing in. I rang xbox support and when they stopped my gamepass i signed in without a hassle and than xbox support refunded my subscription. So sign in and download whatever you can before july 29th
Will the games you buy stay on the console or will they be gone too?
HI, not only stay on the hdd but you will still be able to re-download them if legit purchases :)
