    Be honest... How many tripods have you purchased? Is it just me?

      For video. Three. One was a decent Manfrotto set when first started out with my little GH5. After that I went straight to the Sachtler Flowtech 75 with the FSB head. The third tripod is another Manfrotto video tripod+head combo that I use for B-Cam :)

    Great video. I had nothing but trouble from the start with this tripod. First, a leg split at the rivet and while loose, a plastic gear at the tension handle fell out and was lost. I asked SmallRig if I could purchase a gear. The customer service rep said she'd get the technical team to answer. I asked twice - no answer. I had new gears CNC'd from aluminum and when I reassmbled the tripod, one of the metal plates that hold the works onto the leg simply broke. Too much money, many hours and a sh*tload of effort later, I gave up and pulled the expensive trigger on the Sachtler FlowTech 75 and activ8 head combo that I wanted in the first place. Of all the Millers, Sachtlers and Bogen/Manfrottos I've used over nearly 40 years of using tripods, I've never had problem with any of them.
    I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE SMALLRIG FREEBLAZER.

      😟 sorry to hear about your experience. Mine has held up fine but that’s obviously just one unit-I’m a little disappointed to hear about the customer service experience you had. Thanks for sharing

      @@DavidZhou What do you think of the Sirui SVT75 or Pineta or even compare the Smallrig to a remotely controlled gimbal on a tripod? Wondering if you'd be able to do a comparison of these other options to see if the Smallrig is still the best!

      100% worth it. They also have their AD-01 tripod which is a little less robust (not the best tripod head), but it's $150!

    what do you need if you will never have a super heavy rig? Say an FX3 with cage, battery, and monitor?

    • @DavidZhou
      @DavidZhou  Рік тому +1

      I still recommend this tripod! It's pan/tilt head and legs are amazing for professional work and there aren't many video tripods I like even at the $400+ price point. Though, if you have any you're looking at that you're considering, feel free to send me a link on here, or on IG (@TheGreatZhou), and I'd be happy to take a look at it and give my thoughts! :)
