- The sisters are sisters Nubia, Olei, and Gina, and they are ironically named after famed skincare products. The Gross Sisters antagonize and bully the show's main lead, Penny Proud, and the rest of her friends. Their tactics usually involve intercepting Penny and her friends and robbing them of their allowances.
The Gross sisters may have been bullies but they were some real ass friends to Penny.
Ugh unlike Lacienga, Dijonay, and Zoey.

I’m rewatching the original and I agree. They all liked penny and treated her better. They made that trap to injure lacienga so penny could get on the cheerleading team. They didn’t ask for money. They did it because they like penny and didn’t want to see her sad. On the party episode all of penny friends ditched her party for lacienga party but the gross sister came to penny party.
The Gross sisters are named after real lotion brands.

@@lucylee4366 late but my personal opinion on why there toxic is because Penny is Proud of who she is (pun intended) and confident in her own nice goody two-shoes shtick that her friends take advantage of her because of that. She’s genuinely nice and doesn’t care what others think. Zoe is pretty defenseless and not confident at all due to her appearance and follows the crowd so that she still has friends. Dijonay is the gossiping type that likes to spread rumors that aren’t at all true and doesn’t consider the fact that she’s being a problem and thinks she’s always right when she’s not like selling out penny to hang with lacienega and zoey at a concert. Lacienega is toxic and such a mean little rodent because her parents have spoiled her with riches, thinking she’s better than anyone because she’s rich and all. Her parents also don’t really hang out with her assuming that their pretty busy with work, contributing to her toxic behavior. Penny will always be a real one and genuinely she’s the most beautiful one of the group physically and personality wise but she also has flaws too.

Olei has a good heart, but she’s really shy. In the group photo at the end of the movie, she’s the only gross sister smiling. She may seem like a terrible mean person on the outside, but deep down she could be a really sweet person.
I agree she’s only mean & A bully because of her sisters, but deep down she’s a Shy Sweet Kind- hearted Female❤️.

I know Olei is the youngest sister but she kinda looks like the oldest since she’s taller than the other two although despite the fact that in the old series when the Gross Sisters first appeared in the first episode Nubia looked the oldest Gina looked the youngest and Olei looked like the middle child
unpopular opinion but they're misunderstood: their dad's a big angry guy who beat up Oscar just for driving near him, he treats children as 'workers' (this is seen when LaCienega shows up and he makes her do all the work and calls her 'another worker' rather than child)
plus Olei was tamer once she got a makeover, its just that she cant speak for herself. The sisters were the only ones at Penny's party (unlike Penny's fake friends) and they're good at basketball and baseball. They also helped Penny when she wanted to be a cheerleader even tho they werent technically friends
In other words, they're not one-dimensional. Same thing with Harold Berman (Hey Arnold), Nelson Muntz (The Simpsons), and Buford Van Stomm (Phineas And Ferb).

But they do need professional help and the writer could acknowledge both issue, the gross sister being a bully and home enviroment that's so toxic i referring specifically to gross sister and nelson Muntz. The victim definitely have the right to not forgive the bully. The writer need to be very mindful while there's a reason but it never justified

as much as I love the gross sisters, the one thing I can't understand is how nobody has put a stop to this. There are three of them versus an entire school body that is tired of their shit. I guess it's easy for them to jack them when they decide to hang out with their individual clicks instead of getting together and saying enough is enough.

In the episode “Enter the Bullies”, the sisters kept harassing Penny and her friends for their money they saved up for. Added a tollbooth on their way to school, made them empty out their pockets, except LaCienega who got a pass, stole everyone’s lunches, which Penny told on the them, escaped to a museum, but kept following them, and finally told on her parents that they kept robbing her money, so Penny and her parents went to the Gross’s house to talk to their parents about the continued harassment and got her $50 she wanted to go shopping for. In the end, the sisters were finding common ground, but in future episodes their behavior is the same. They should get a job instead of stealing everyone’s money.
