I ordered my Tomir's blind from the Nnormal blind. I wore them for a 19 mile trail race straight out of the box. The sizing was spot on for me.
The good for me: The shoe is grippy, and the grip feels dependable. I just know what this shoe can and cannot handle which is important to me. The midsole isn't plush or soft by any means, but it's a solid choice for everybody who prefers a decent amount of ground feel. Mind you, the midsole isn't uncomfortable, it's just a tad firm.
The neutral: The upper requires breaking in. I have 300 miles on the shoes and that sturdy, inflexible feel disappeared after about 3 or 4 runs.
The bad: The fit around the ankle. For me, it's not down to the heel cup, but it's about the eyelets. The shoe doesn't have any extra eyelets and there's no real way to fiddle around with the lockdown. My experience is that I slide forward on steep descents, and it's just down to the lockdown. Also, the laces are stupid long.
I can't place your comments about draining water. I've done several trails with water crossings and my experience is 180 degrees different from yours. Mine shed water REALLY well and they dry out overnight.

Just punch in additional holes near the upper ones to create the possibility of ankle lock, i had the same with tge Kjerag and even without rivets it works fine.

Raced these the last 75 miles of a 200 mile ultra last Fall. They run big. I had used the Hoka Tecton X for the first 125 until my feet swelled a full size. The NNormals did the trick but only after I swapped the factory insole for the Inov-8 Boomerang insoles (thicker Pebax). The Tomir was so voluminous that I could fit my swollen feet into them with the thick insoles. Didn’t get a single blister! Very durable and light. Agree that the shoe is just ok, but under the circumstances it was a race-saver for me. Keep up your excellent reviews! Troy from Falcon Ridge, CO.

I agree I would go down a half size. I wore last winter on snow and ice and they were great.

Hi, you have to break them in. It takes a while but they will be a lot more “comfy”.. use them “snug” on your feet to avoid any excess material (due to oversizing) … and enjoy your trail runs.

This shoe for me was super comfy for me although not straight away. They make me want to run when I put them on! I live in a steep valley in North Wales and wanted a pair of shoes that would really last. They have not disappointed so far.
Great review Ryan. I'm considering trying the Kjerag as paddling shoe as paddling shoes are notorious for not lasting very long. I feel like the stitched in upper would be a game changer.

Great review,Do you think the comfort issues with heal lockdown could have been resolved by going a half size down? Given you said that they felt a little long

Same here. Come in 2 more days. Loved my 1.0 and they were extremely durable. Still holding up a year and a half later.

This shoe has to be the right size to get the right lockdown, I tried my normal 10.5 size and feel a bit too large but I go for size 10 and all problem goes away. Probably should try the right size to see if the lockdown issue still occur.

Hello, I usually run between 30-50km in races. I am looking for a shoe that is comfortable and can last a long time. I am stuck between La sportiva Akasha II and NNormal Tomir Waterprof. Please give me your opinion and help.

I’ve been looking into these or norda. I want something new and different. May I ask what do you prefer recording with when running and shooting the little segments you include in reviews?

Fit compared to a Speedgoat 5? Looking to switch from Hoka’s.

A lot roomier than the speedgoats. Less cushioned of a feel, more responsive, and outsole is better suited for bad weather on the Tomir's.

How you judge shoes that don’t fit it invalidates everything you experienced

I agree to this, i tbink its fair to change them and give a proper view on the upper fitting. On the other hand it doesnt invalidate for exsmple the section on the grip, iwould like normal to place this litebase outsole on the kjerag to have something more suitable for wetter conditions
