It's not expensive at all. It could be free, using things from around your home. You could diy and getting the cost down to just paying for feeders and substrate. Different species of trantulas have different requirements, Rose hairs are pretty much one of the easiest. I would personally suggest, curly hair or Arazoina blonde. Just do research on the species you want, not just on basic tranatula care. I suggest the trantula Collective.

Yes! That’s my “curve” exactly. Love tiny spiders and have a pet Tarantula, but house and wolf spiders scare the pants off of me! I’m getting better at dealing with them, but I don’t think I’ll ever get over the fear factor of a mid-size spider 😅
Oh my lord when the camera zooms out and you just see how small she is, a little calm fluffy land crab!! Never thought I would consider a tarantula to be cute.
As a chilean, I can testify that these guys are the chillest creatures ever... and they are very common and easy to find, like two weeks ago I took my little brother to a nearby hill and started to scout for a tarantula, took about 5 mins and I found a hole and there she was, a tarantula, completely wild and never before enclosured, I lire her our of the hole and once she got out I took her, she calmly started to walk in my arm, chest, then I passed it to my brother, the same happens, I literally woke her up in the middle of her sleeping (they sleep at day) and she was chilling around. So that as a story, but this is really common, I can assure they are the friendliest spiders out there.

I never realized how cute tarantulas could be! She was such a lil cutie hiding her face and her cute lil feets UGH adorable. And I’m usually afraid of spiders!
I remember the first time I ever held a tarantula, it was at a Halloween party when I was about 7. Mr. Paul McCormick from Classroom Critters made sure that it was between the ground and a foot in height, and before letting me hold it, he made sure I wasn't going to throw her out of fear. After she bit me, my left arm grew back just fine! (Disclaimer: it was one of the nicest spiders I've ever met, did not bite me, and humans sadly can't grow back appendages so please don't cut your arm off to test.)

I just came back to this video to let you know that i did actually get myself a rose hair tarantula after watching this video. This channel not only helped me get over my fear if spiders. It actually got me so far to actually own a tarantula myself, a guy who was scared of even smaller spiders a year ago. I just want to thank you. Cheers from Belgium and i wish you and your family the best. 👍😊 i would join your patreon but sadly i can't really afford it for the time being. Still, i hope my sub, likes and comments help this channel in some way.
Great story, my worst nightmare used to be spider’s as we always had big house spiders nearly every day growing up. Then in my late 30’s I decided enough is enough, so I thought these things aren’t going to go away, so I captured a house spider and put it in a large bowl and just slowly kept putting my hand closer and closer until it walked onto my hand and at that moment I suddenly realised how delicate they are. Now I’ve been researching I think I’m almost obsessed with them to the point of wanting several pet tarantula
Clint is the Netflix of UA-cam. You binge watch and lose sleep, but don't feel guilty for it at all. On video number 9 for the evening, have to be up for work in 5 hours and still ain't laying down to rest 😂

I'm from Chile. You just need to get away a few kilometers from the big cities during the warm season and you'll see those spiders running around in fields, between bushes and the like. We call them "araña pollito" (chicken spider) and yes, they are very docile, even in the wild.
I really love the spider videos! “They are easier than a cactus” I can’t take care of ordinary plants but I love taking care of all of my pets and they are all well
I used to have one. I got it from a college friend, mine had been part of a scientific experiment (seriously!) but was very calm, I ended up giving her to a friend who adores various kinds of critters and the last time I visited, Miss Muffet was doing very well. And yes, they are literally easier to care for than a cactus.
I've had my Mexican red knee since she was a sling. She's a bit temperamental, kicks hairs easily and even rears up on occasion. It's not a deal breaker though, she's cool looking and doesn't seem to know you're there if you don't get within 6 inches of her.
Hey, Clint! Just wanted to let you know that your video on Chinese Water Dragons pushed me into the right mindset to take in one of my own! He is a rescue, so he's not in the best of health. But he's made a ton of progress just over the coarse of this week! Thank you for all that you do. 👌 👍
Hello. I’ve kept tarantulas for a while and I wanted to let you know how much I appreciated the positive video. I liked you showed that they aren’t aggressive, evil, or mean. But I would like to note that people should be very cautious about the heat mat. Most reputable tarantula keepers like Toms big spiders or the tarantula collective recommend against using a heat light or mat. Tarantulas have a tendency to dry out and have a hard time molting. That’s just my two cents. Overall thank you very much!
Yes, along with that placing a heat mat under the enclosure is logically a pretty bad idea if you consider what the natural reaction of most burrying animals is if they get too hot - they burrow into the ground to avoid overheating and dehydration, and if your mat is below the enclosure it gets hotter and dryer the deeper they go. On the not being evil part though, my L.p. disagrees, thing is like the devil incarnate LOL. jokes aside though, theres a lot of Ts that can show quite a fair bit of temperament, and I know from a lot of peopel that the onyl T they ever got bitten by were G. roseas because they underestimated that they can sometimes get pissy too heh.
Very true! My only exception for mine is a female Ephebopus murinus. It was inactive when it was brought to me and I noticed that it was coming up and night and laying in the water dish. As an experiment I put in freshly soaked mounds of moss and she would go lay on theirs. Now I have cut down the ventilation and put a tiny one inch heat pad on the side with the water to bring up the humidity. I have a thermostat in the sick bay hooked to the heating source so that is under control. I have the temp wavering between 75 and 78 since I know this is a tropical species. Now she has put down a molt bed and I am almost positive that she will be molting soon. Have you ever seen the water sitting behavior before and do you think I am missing something in my research? Just figured I would ask of you have that much expierence.
Excellent! Almost want one, buuut, ooor little jumping spider "Utred son of Utred" is filling the role of pet arthropod for now. You should compile an invertebrate playlist (unless you already did that..) and score a good pet scorpion sometime soon! Keep the videos coming! I know I'm not the first to say this but my favourite thing about your videos are how enthusiastic you are about all your animals. You always talk about how awesome everything is while still being informative. Sorry this didn’t get as many views! This is a great video, I saw a lot of people saying the video didn’t show up in their feed. So strange, this is the most family friendly and advertised friendly channel on UA-cam. Keep the tarantula videos going! I have a baby Cyriocosmus elegans and I love seeing her pals getting shown virtual love :)
I love tarantulas. I used to have a Rose hair my mom bought for me at Petco until my mom's cat busted in the mesh on the lid and it got out (we haven't found it to this day I was 8, I'm now 29). I went camping once with my boy scout troop. The camp we were at was infested with California Brown Tarantulas (Aphonopelma Steindachneri). The females always stay in burrows, but when it was the right time in their lives the males would wander looking for the females, and are extremely docile with only finding a mate on their mind (they wont even eat). One had wandered into our camp, and I picked it up. It was crawling on the back of my hands towards my chest, and I was treadmilling it. I was showing it to the others and adults, when another scout blurts out a "Lemme try!" and proceeds to put both of his hands ontop of the animal pinning it between his hands and mine. Unfortunately. . . Fangs only work downwards on spiders. I still have the twin V-shaped scars on the back of my hand.
@@oreixx well, I've never been bitten by a venomous snake, so I can't compare. I'm sure the spiders venom had something to do with at least some of it. Initially it was a sharp stabbing sensation, but then it was a burning sensation that lasted for a couple hours. Luckily those tarantulas have mild venom, so was alright.
GORGEOUS spider!!! Other than your video with Lucas the jumping spider ( gorgeous little sweetie 🥰 ), this has got to be my fav video!! Thank you so much!
I have a beautiful Rose Hair named Betty. I’ve never handled her because I’ve never had to. She is very placid, never kicked hairs or threatened me. Even when I’ve annoyed her by accident she’s never shouted at me, but I won’t handle her because she’s a pretty big spider and I don’t want to risk dropping her and she has some monster fangs. I just love watching my Tarantulas spider about!
Awwww I didn't know they had those little almost retractable hands at the bottom of their legs!! Why is that the most adorable thing ever? What a sweet little beauty this one. I have a Grammostola Pulchra myself, I don't think I've ever been more in love.
Yay, more spider tutorials!! Been keeping them for years now. Personally I'd go for Grammostola pulchripes (Chaco Golden Knee) rather than G. porteri/rosea (Rose hair) as best starter tarantula. Pulchripes get a bit bigger, nice yellow striping, and many people report psycho rose hairs, despite their "beginner" nature they can be quite nasty. Best not to handle anything, regardless of temperament or toxicity as you're more likely to harm them than they are to harm you. Otherwise, they are as Clint says, basically pet rocks. Pretty to look at. Check out some of the MANY blue species of tarantulas out there if you're thinking about getting into the hobby. It can be quite rewarding working your way up to the "Expert" species.
I happen to be one of the owners of a "psycho" Rosehair. She's nasty but I love her even though she threat postures and kicks hairs fairly often. Just got a Tliltacotl albopilosus and was genuinely surprised that I could handle them without having hairs kicked at me or fangs being shown so it's definitely nice having a T I can handle if I want to though I'm generally just going to leave them be in their enclosure because there's no sense in risking stressing the sentient teddy bear with eight legs when I can just as easily go love on a ratty or one of my Ball Pythons instead.
Whoooa! That close-up on the feet! I've never seen how their feet move when they walk - so cool! I think it's around 4:23 - the little footpads go up and down. I'm going to watch it again!
I was so pumped when I saw the title of this video. I had one of these from when I was in first grade until just after I graduated high school. Very cool animal, surprisingly docile. 10/10 would get one again if my wife didn't hate spiders. I will say though that I have been unsuccessful in the past with keeping cacti, haha, but I could handle one of these.
@@katelillo1932 I wish. Sadly, all arachnids are off the table. Maybe when I have kids we can out-vote her. Thats how i got mine when I was younger, lol.
I really love the little intro in every video, it gives me enough time to make the video player as small as possible on the screen on the spider videos. Got some terrible arachnophobia but I enjoy watching videos of them from time to time
So glad you did one on the Grammastola Rosea! Would like to see a video and a few other common beginner species like maybe a G. Pulchra or a Chromatapelma cyaneopubescens. The latter would really show off their beauty.
Aww, she's such a beautiful girl. I adore tarantulas. I've had dozens of various species over the years. A rose hair was my first. He hooked out at about 10 years old and passed away shortly after that. He was such a good boy. He was about the size of my thumbnail when I got him. It's so rewarding to watch them grow. Makes me happy to see that you're not a handler. As I said, I've had dozens of tarantulas over the years, and I never handled a single one. No need to, it's too dangerous for them.
As a taranta fan, this video was overally really good. One thing I do wish, is that you used her scientific nam and explained why in the tarantula hobby using scientic names is important. Alaso G. rosea the speicies in this video, has fallen out of favor in recent years and can be a little hard to find. A lot of times too, you have to buy them as a sling and they grwo at a rate of a glacier and boy to I mean SLOW. I have had my little G. rosea sling for two years now and I swear she's still the same size she was when I got her despite having molted four times now lol Oh also arcrylic lids with holes drilled in for ventilation are better than mesh. Tarantulas do get stuck in the mesh and some can even chew their way out of mesh so it's really not the best. I do love them though. For me it's a tie between my G. rosea and my little T. albopolosum (curly hari tarantula)
I agree. I use the scientific names for all of mine. I don’t have the G. rosea, but I have a good collection of New Worlds. I don’t think I’ll ever have any Old Worlds. They scare me. 😂😂😂
You always do such a thorough job describing your pets but this video blew me away as a tarantula newbie hobbyist! I always find that even within the hobby, people say some pretty ridiculous things about tarantulas (ie. “they can drown without a rock/sponge in their water bowl”, “if you have a pet, why wouldn’t you hold it”, “they need lots of humidity/heat”, etc). The fact that you know SO much about their TRUE care is so helpful to new keepers and people looking to get into the tarantula keeping hobby. Thank you for always making very informative and fun videos. You help the reptile/exotics keeping hobby a better place ❤️
P.S. I have 6 different species of new world tarantulas right now and a grammostola rosea/porteri is next on my list especially after seeing your sweet gal!
"easier to care for than a cactus" I can confirm. My grandmas rose hair is older then me, meanwhile for the past 2 years Ive been trying to care for cacti, about 1/3 have died.
Hey Clint, you should know that your spider videos have been curing me of my spider phobia. I'm starting to think of them as interesting creatures instead of creepy bugs! I even found a spider in my house the other day and instead of killing it I took it outside....with my bare hand! Please keep doing spider videos. Maybe wolf spiders next. Those suckers still make me shriek and run like a little girl. Thanks Clint!
"Tarantula" actually is a name for "big spider" in many european languages. The "original" tarantula is a wolf spider, Lycosia tarantula and is common and well known in southern europe so the conquistadors applied that name to the large spiders they encountered in the new world
Well, if you care to look at it that deeply, that's fine. Mygalomorphae, the infraorder which tarantulas belong to, have paraxial fangs, among other distinguishing factors, that cause them to be classified differently from the araneomorphae, which accounts for all the "true" spiders, including Lycosidae. By modern standards, "tarantula" refers to our fluffy mygalomorph friends, not to be confused with the not-so-fluffy ones, such as trapdoor spiders and the Australian funnel web spiders.
@6:41 ohh I beg to differ, Sir. Mine Versicolor actually walks around the cage and taps the lid where ever she goes to 'test' it. I also had Incei gold, which broke out from a flexible rubber mesh lid, by grabbing it with fangs and yanking it. I've seen her doing that before, but one morning I woke up and haven't seen her ever since :(
Can you please elaborate on this strange inability to turn your palms upward? do your elbows and shoulders lock at a certain point? can you just lean a bit to the side to compensate? im more fascinated by this than the spider

Clint, 2 things are wrong, 1. Never handle your tarantula. They do not like the touch of human skin. They will A. Bolt, B. Bite or C. Kick hair or you'll simply get urticating hair on you. Consider tarantulas as observational like fish. 2. Never ever use a heating mat, you'll cook your tarantula. Also to note, Grammostola rosea and porteri are not as docile as made out to be. Alot are tempermental and will threat pose or bite when disturbed.
I'm arachnophobic too but for some reason tarantulas aren't disturbing to me like other spiders...probably because I don't have any bad experiences with them 😥
@@milooooooooooooooooooooo They also have a lower "aspect raio" (I guess); their legs are quite short and thick compared to most true spiders, plus they really don't move a lot and i mean....they look like a furball, pretty much like a hamster with more legs.
@@_YellovvJacket_ yep! they seem like they would be soft and maybe even warm...something about the way they don't scuttle or move very fast is comforting...also they're very symmetrical and they don't have the silhouette of a true spider. They keep everything but their legs off of the ground, and aren't very wide, more tall. They just don't make me panic because of those things...
This post is surprisingly insightful when it comes as to why they are slightly less terrifying than other eight legged folk. When Clint mentioned wolf spiders I was very interested in the different physiologies and was very close to looking up pictures as I usually do with reptiles. I think I dodged a bullet there lol The not moving very quickly part is a big one too, as long as they are essentially a standing picture they are acceptable but I think I prefer them where they are - VERY far away and in no way, shape or forrm coming towards me
So glad you did this! My first t was a Rosie, and I had her for a ridiculously long time.. She was a wonderful ambassador! You should do a collab with Tom Moran from Tom's Big Spiders! He's also an educator, and has a ton of knowledge about our fuzzy 8 legged friends. Ps, grammastola pulchra, single handedly the best grammastola species, imo. Mine is AMAZING.
I have like 100 of this little guys, because I live in Chile and they refuse to stop coming into my yard but I love to see them thriving in their natural hambatiment
They are pretty, but my mother would never come over again, and seeing as how she helps me with housework, I would sooner her continue to do so. Should go to one of those JNMIL forums and suggest the family get one to keep them away, lol.
I'm not entirely averse to handling a Rose Hair Tarantula, but the mere thought of it makes my palms sweat profusely. Love these videos, Clint - they're super interesting and educational.
Im amazed at how nice your rose hair was to you! I have two Brachypelma spiders (B hamorii and B boehmei respectively) and they freak out and flick hairs if I so much as open their enclosures!
I was always under the impression that all tarantulas were really picky about their temps and humidity and substrate moisture so this is really enlightening.
I love that you finally did a tarantula but Grammastolas in the USA have recently been a bit more scarce than usual. Some more common Ts might be Lasiodora Parahybana, T. Vagans, and T albipolosum. Ive kept all of these and the most difficult is the T. Vagans.
I'm keeping tarantulas too, and I have to say for most of the common "beginner" type species it's literally don't actively try to kill them, and make sure they cant fall to death and its going to do great. But for most of them its also like youre taking care of a pet rock, except for that 1 exciting time of the week where you go and feed it lol.
One point worth noting is that it’s worthwhile filling your enclosure mostly with substrate, leaving no more that 1.5x the diagonal leg span of your tarantula from the surface of the substrate to the top of the enclosure, so if your tarantula does decide to climb, it’s got a relatively small distance to fall if it loses its grip. As Clint said, falls can be fatal for them, and they’re not the world’s best climbers. This has the added benefit of giving them plenty of space to burrow if your particular spider is inclined to.
My work has a rose haired tarantula named Rosie. I'm not afraid of spiders, in fact I love them. However, Rosie is a different matter. I'm always anxious when I feed her and change her water because she haired one of my coworkers. My poor coworker's arms flared up for days! It was apparently horrifically painful. It was the one and only time Rosie ever haired anyone, but since then everyone's been cautious when working with her and she's no longer handled.
I love tarantulas! They helped me get over my fear of spiders. I have 4 now. A zebra knee, bird eater, Honduran curly hair and a pink toe. Some of the best pets out there ❤️
My Rosie passed this year. I had her for 19 years, and she was an adult whenever I got her at the age of 18. She was absolutely beautiful and a wonderful pet. Very easy to keep, and now I really want another one.
When I decided to get a tarantula, I decided that Grammostolas (like this one) are a bit too passive, and decided on Lasiodora parahybana (or Brazilian salmon pink tarantula). Best decision ever! Everything covered in this video still applies, and they look similiar, except parahybanas are bigger, longer lived, more active.. pretty much just better, if a bit more inclined to bite you. Which is not a problem, since I don't handle mine that often - when I do, I then have boils on my arms for next month or so. I got mine as a little almost trancluscent nymph, and by now my fair lady been for 10 years with me, and don't seem to be going anywhere. Man, spiders are just the best.
Awesome vid my only issue is don’t use heat mats, if your T digs and reaches the glass it will dehydrate and die, they don’t feel heat the same as we do.
Yay tarantula vid, its so cute! We have a mexican fireleg here, who sadly does not like to be held. Their tiny little feet are so adorable, and they feel like little velvet covered ball bearings when they walk on you, too cute. :D
I've never been super fond of spiders due to mild arachnophobia, (mad respect for them though) and normally tarantulas cause quite a bit of anxiety for me. But recently I've been trying to desensitize myself to them and honestly I didn't really get that anxious feeling I normally do while watching your girl here, she reminds me of a little fuzzy crab and she's really pretty :3
I'm one of those bizarre arachnophobes who genuinely loves tarantulas, so I really enjoy watching videos of them! I don't have one myself, and I mean, I'm certainly not gonna try to handle an old world tarantula, but if someone has a chill new world used to handling I enjoy interacting with them.
For someone who had a fear of spiders, I have to admit, that she is adorable. She was so docile and calm. My main fear, was , of being bitten. The more I watch these videos, the less scared I am of them. Get one as a pet....ummm...no.😄 but I enjoy learning about them. Thank you.🕷️
We have not one not two but FIVE tarantulas in our house (all new worlds, we have a Honduran Curly Hair, a Brazilian Black, Brazilian Blue, Salmon Pink Bird eater, and a Chilean Flame dwarf). They are pretty much the closest things to pet rocks you can get, keep their water dish full, feed them every once in a while, and clean their enclosure every so often and they will do great.
About 2 months ago I was given a 10 year old Rose Hair tarantula that lived in a filthy, very stinky, barren, boring, sad enclosure. I gave her a tarantula mansion. She shows her appreciation for her new wonderful place by hanging out and being beautiful. I swear her color immediately brightened up. She un- crumpled and spread herself out. She transformed from dull brown to sheer gray/brown/pink loveliness. She has a little attitude though. I used to think I'd die of old age but now she is how I think I'll die. Haha! I don't know if she'll bite, but I'll let you know someday. She is huge and so beautiful and I love her.
What a beautiful animal. Thank you so much. I am the proud new owner of a spiderling Lasiodorides polycuspalatas aka Brazilian Blonde. I got her because she is reportedly a very docile species.

I never realized how cute tarantulas could be! She was such a lil cutie hiding her face and her cute lil feets UGH adorable. And I’m usually afraid of spiders!
i love the upclose shots and the spider looks like a big tarantula and then when it zooms out and it’s like ‘i’m so smol and cute be nice to me 🥺’
I remember the first time I ever held a tarantula, it was at a Halloween party when I was about 7.
Now you tell me....
@@ClintsReptiles Sorry Clint, might want to go to the hospital now for stitches.
At least my bionic arms might function normally...

😐
anyone just love Clint's charm when he rates "based on our 5 categories"?
The hole in my heart yearns for the 5 categories section at times. Like a favorite uncle and his warm welcomes to you as a child.
Love your work and love the channel
I'm from Chile. You just need to get away a few kilometers from the big cities during the warm season and you'll see those spiders running around in fields, between bushes and the like. We call them "araña pollito" (chicken spider) and yes, they are very docile, even in the wild.
I really love the spider videos!
“They are easier than a cactus”
I can’t take care of ordinary plants but I love taking care of all of my pets and they are all well
Slurpy Durp cactuses are awesome
I used to have one. I got it from a college friend, mine had been part of a scientific experiment (seriously!) but was very calm, I ended up giving her to a friend who adores various kinds of critters and the last time I visited, Miss Muffet was doing very well.
And yes, they are literally easier to care for than a cactus.
I've had my Mexican red knee since she was a sling. She's a bit temperamental, kicks hairs easily and even rears up on occasion.
It's not a deal breaker though, she's cool looking and doesn't seem to know you're there if you don't get within 6 inches of her.
I love them so much!
i used to not be afraid of my rosehair till about 5 years later. She reared up and had those big fangs exposed. I didnt handle her as much.
Hey, Clint! Just wanted to let you know that your video on Chinese Water Dragons pushed me into the right mindset to take in one of my own! He is a rescue, so he's not in the best of health. But he's made a ton of progress just over the coarse of this week!
Thank you for all that you do. 👌 👍
Very cool! I hope things work out for you :)
Cassandra Fleckenstein 100% agree! The advice I always saw was “Heat the room, not the spider.”

Love the name 👍
The little paws and claws are so adorable! ❤️
We kept one for nine and a half years and she was the most wonderful pet you could ever have asked for
I know I'm not the first to say this but my favourite thing about your videos are how enthusiastic you are about all your animals. You always talk about how awesome everything is while still being informative. I have 2 crested geckos right now and when I move out of my parents' house I'd love to expand and your videos are a great source of info while also being very entertaining. Thank you so much! I used to be scared of Spiders, But you helped me overcome that fear! We have gotten a Green bottle Blue tarantula! Wh got her at the october expo, and who knows how many more we will get! Thanks for all your help Clint! You're the best!
I like that you use their common name, by the way. I also love that you talk about your "stupid hands" that don't turn over and how you get your change. You're great. Your videos are great.
One thing on the lids , try avoiding mesh. There little claws can get stuck in them.
I still have the twin V-shaped scars on the back of my hand.
did it hurt?
@@blazingtrs6348 felt like getting jabbed with a pair of sharp pencils.
Clayton Sanchez Jesus Christ... kinda crazy how these things manage to have a more painful bite compared to a snake or somethin
@@oreixx well, I've never been bitten by a venomous snake, so I can't compare. I'm sure the spiders venom had something to do with at least some of it. Initially it was a sharp stabbing sensation, but then it was a burning sensation that lasted for a couple hours. Luckily those tarantulas have mild venom, so was alright.
i wonder if that tarantula is still out there or rather how long it has been lol. how did it even escape your home? slipped through an open window? :D
GORGEOUS spider!!! Other than your video with Lucas the jumping spider ( gorgeous little sweetie 🥰 ), this has got to be my fav video!! Thank you so much!
I’m more partial to the curly haired tarantula! They’re beautiful and fun to hold and I love them!!

I love how it sits like a little ball of fluff on the table.
I love when Tarantulas sort of huddle their legs in front of their face.
6:31 "No, don't look at me! I'm camera shy!"
Right??
Perhaps your wife would be okay with a velvet spider? Those are stinking adorable!
I have had my little G. rosea sling for two years now and I swear she's still the same size she was when I got her despite having molted four times now lol
Oh also arcrylic lids with holes drilled in for ventilation are better than mesh.
Rose hair tarantulas have been getting actually becoming much more rare over the years. Chile stopped importing them I a few years ago.
"easier to care for than a cactus"
I can confirm. My grandmas rose hair is older then me, meanwhile for the past 2 years Ive been trying to care for cacti, about 1/3 have died.
Tarantulas are amazing pets. I have an amazing Arizona Blonde. They would be a great video.
It's also used by my family for any arachnid that's bigger than my pinkie nail while they scream with pure terror
It's actually named after a dance: the tarantella. It was believed that if the spider bit you, it could be cured by frenzied dancing
I have a rose hair, adopted her from an old friend. She is about 17 years old super easy to care for and super chill. Love her to bits.
What if you did starfishes next? They're really cool and it'd be cool to learn more about them
@6:41 ohh I beg to differ, Sir. Mine Versicolor actually walks around the cage and taps the lid where ever she goes to 'test' it. I also had Incei gold, which broke out from a flexible rubber mesh lid, by grabbing it with fangs and yanking it. I've seen her doing that before, but one morning I woke up and haven't seen her ever since :(
You should do more videos on more tarantula species, and maybe other invertebrates like centipedes or tailles whip scorpions.
Thanks!

"Tarantulas are scary"
Me, an arachnophobic: "Yup, yup, absolutely"
@@_YellovvJacket_ also I've never had a tarantula scare the living hell out of me in the shower so there's that
This post is surprisingly insightful when it comes as to why they are slightly less terrifying than other eight legged folk. When Clint mentioned wolf spiders I was very interested in the different physiologies and was very close to looking up pictures as I usually do with reptiles. I think I dodged a bullet there lol
The not moving very quickly part is a big one too, as long as they are essentially a standing picture they are acceptable but I think I prefer them where they are - VERY far away and in no way, shape or forrm coming towards me
So glad you did this! My first t was a Rosie, and I had her for a ridiculously long time.. She was a wonderful ambassador! You should do a collab with Tom Moran from Tom's Big Spiders! He's also an educator, and has a ton of knowledge about our fuzzy 8 legged friends.

The dislike is from a tarantula who thinks he does not wanna be a pet
I’m going to guess people who are scared of these
I have like 100 of this little guys, because I live in Chile and they refuse to stop coming into my yard but I love to see them thriving in their natural hambatiment
They are pretty, but my mother would never come over again, and seeing as how she helps me with housework, I would sooner her continue to do so. Should go to one of those JNMIL forums and suggest the family get one to keep them away, lol.

"Don't come towards me. Please stop" omg, what a cute outro. I'm loving the tarantula and aracnhid videos!
Actually my favourite reptile show on the internet right now
I love that you finally did a tarantula but Grammastolas in the USA have recently been a bit more scarce than usual. Some more common Ts might be Lasiodora Parahybana, T. Vagans, and T albipolosum. Ive kept all of these and the most difficult is the T. Vagans.
I would love to see three videos.
1. Ackie vs Lacerta
2. Collared lizard rating/review
3. Any other video you decide to post! Keep em come'n!😁
Not big on spiders, but I'm here because your video and content quality deserves views regardless of what animal you're covering

Really appreciate that you call it a cephalothorax. It triggers me every time people call it a carapace.

I recently directed someone to your channel. I'm proud of myself for remembering the 5 categories you use for rating.
