I have personally seen them do this and they also tend to microwave them for about a minute to minute and a half to get them to rise so they aren't doughy in the middle. I tried this with both the cinnamon and blueberry canned biscuits and they were awesome.

Hey Mike. When I was younger, our local Asian buffet had this egg custard dessert they would make that I absolutely loved. It had pineapple in it, and once, they told us the secret ingredient was mayonnaise. It was in a phyllo dough cup.
Do you know what this is called or how to make it? Unfortunately, the buffet has since closed down, and I can no longer get them. Please help!!!

I kid you not. We went to the buffet couple weeks ago an my son had been wanting us to make them. Never looked it up, recipe anyway. I told him it was nothing more than fried biscuit dough covered with sugar. So we went an got, lol, generic biscuit dough an came home. Cut it into quarters. Dropped in grease. Soon as it came out we dropped on a napkin to get the extra grease out then dropped in a bowl of sugar. He loved it, well..we did.🤣 So gonna do it again tonight but decided, let me see how your suppose to do it an looked this up. An to my surprise, its the exactly the same. Even the off brand biscuits.🤣🤣 Great job bud an thanks for the secert.😁

hi i have a question. so i was in shanghai about a month ago and i had a certain pastry thing and im not sure what it was called. there were multiple kinds of it and it look almost like a dessert parfait. it looked like it was vanilla and had a crunchy crackery thing on it. it wasnt sweet at all and the flavor was something id never tasted. the name of it didn't really look chinese but i wouldnt really know since i don't speak chinese, but i was wondering if you have any idea at all what it mightve been

These look great but there's an American version my mom has made for us since the early 1970's. We still use biscuits but we don't cut them in half. We take a whole biscuit then take a cap from the top of a 2 liter Pepsi or Coke bottle, cut the holes out of the middle then fry up the holes AND the actual doughnuts and instead of just sugar, she uses powdered sugar and vanilla extract and a bit of water to mix to make a fantastic frosting to go over them. Always drop the doughnuts directly into the bowl that contains the frosting so it melts all over it to give it FULL even coating then take out with salad tongs and put on a plate. These were always great on the weekend when we were kids. Especially Saturday morning when they used to show the cool cartoons on the old days.

My grandmother use to make this egg doughnut puff that's rolled in sugar. I occasionally see them at buffets but they don't compare. All you taste is sweet egg as you bite in, they would be light and airy. All I think it is is just kits of eggs and self rising flour.

I'm going to make some. Before I use rice flour to make my donut and it didn't turn out brown.
