My new senior quote: "We ain't paying an extra dollar for the dough boy!"
Youre the man for revealing this secret! Thank you so much!
anytime :-)
Facts!! Love this channel
Dude I've been trying to find these since I was a kid, we had em chinatown, but nowhere else ever had em
When I came to America for the first time, we ate at a Chinese buffet and BOY was I addicted to those 😂 I’m so happy that I could just make these so easily
WHY am I here during the covid-19 quarantine??? Like I'm not having enough trouble not eating fried crap as it is. 😆
right😂😂😂😂👐🏾
No capp🤣
This is why I'm fat 😤😂😂lmao
just use olive oil to fry its a healthy oil.
you should have your mom on as a special guest!
yes do that Mike
EVATUBE1 I
Thank you for making my dreams possible INFINIT CHINESE DONUTS
We aren't paying an extra dollar for the doughboy lol. Best line!!! So true!!
Cheryl lin 😂😂😂
Brooo so great right!! They way he says it! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I have personally seen them do this and they also tend to microwave them for about a minute to minute and a half to get them to rise so they aren't doughy in the middle. I tried this with both the cinnamon and blueberry canned biscuits and they were awesome.
Before cooking or after?
When I was pregnant with my oldest son I CRAVED these SOOOO BAD! I would eat a dozen of them at a time!!!
I’m pregnant with my first child (boy) and since COVID closed my favorite buffet I’m here lol
@@ambiamz congrats! 😁💙
Craving these so bad! Pregnant with first child, a boy as well 🤗🥰
I’m late to the party but I’m pregnant too 😂😁 I’m here for these too
Me too with my oldest
Just made these tonight. So delicious, I always order these when I see them on the menu but now making them homemade, even better!
I love these sugary bits of fried deliciousness, when we get delivery they send an order of these for free. Devious bastards, now I order 2 extra orders so I can have some for now and some for breakfast! Now I know the secret I'll be making them as often as my pants will allow!
@@lynnokrzynski8720I wish they did this for me tonight. I want them so bad😭
If you want a bit of variety, add some cinnamon or powdered cocoa, or even ginger powder to the sugar
You want us to get fluffy! Thank you 🤤😫🤣
Hey Mike. When I was younger, our local Asian buffet had this egg custard dessert they would make that I absolutely loved. It had pineapple in it, and once, they told us the secret ingredient was mayonnaise. It was in a phyllo dough cup.
Do you know what this is called or how to make it? Unfortunately, the buffet has since closed down, and I can no longer get them. Please help!!!
I think you're talking about dan ta or egg tarts
Those were probably egg tarts.
yummm. I'm so hungry and this looks amazing :) it only needs some hot oil!
...hot oil on doughnuts xD?
It's now almost 2:30am and I am famished. Why do I do this to myself?
My parents just use pillsbury biscuits and fry it for their restaurant
wow, so generous :-)
How do they make lo mein fried rice and fried chicken 👀
@@strictlydumpling 😂
That's how I used to make them for my daughter when she was growing up, then roll in cinnamon-sugar.
@@Bdotdecember Google it lol
My 3 daughters & I are making these tonight!!! Dinner dessert, quality time, and happy husband/offspring bellies = HAPPINESS 🥰😁😁
😂
Thank you so much for this recipe! When my grandmother was still here, we went to our favorite Chinese buffet and I'd eat those donuts and then take some home!! These little donuts bring back such happy memories. 💜 So thank you!
I loved these when I was little!! There was this Chinese buffet that had the best food in the world and they always had these.
I LOVE those! I've been making these since I was a kid. There's nothing better than these fresh out of the pan. I usually do a sugar/cinnamon mix... yummy!!!
قيمات صينية
we make those in Saudi Arabia
Omg this is my kind of recipe 💗
They are my favorite, so yummy
lol I always make these but I toast them in honey
That sounds amazing
Betsy Vega try them with honey, you'll be addicted :D
Will do :D thanks for the tip. I imagine it will be like honey covered buñuelos.
wow thanks a lot for this great idea Amin Ori :)
Dude, you like honey biscuits? Here in Florida we found some cinnamon honey, and let me tell you, seventh heaven!
Wow great moves mikey keep it up proud of you
V/\
Vape nash y'all
WHY DOES YOUR PROFILE PIC REMIND ME OF SAO ABRIDGED? XD
When he says these are chinese doughnuts... not to be confused with the other Chinese Donut that is a long fried bread stick that is often paired with Congee or even by itself.
That long bread is called Youtiao.
when the country you live in doesnt have pre made biscuit dough :(
Bisquick?
Google how to make biscuit dough and see how that comes out...might taste even better.
I tend to avoid that pre-made shit with additives.
Here you go. Instead of rolling out and cutting into biscuits, roll into balls and fry instead. www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/buttermilk-biscuits
what third world shithole u from?
“she probably wouldn’t approve...i’m gonna eat one more”😂
Are you serious? IT'S THAT EASY TO MAKE?! What have I been missing all these years?!
I know their not really Chinese and they are cheap, but they are so good! My uncle makes them with Cinnamon and sugar.
So how do you make those yummy red chicken on a stick?? I’ve been dying for those.
Omg I love these
you should do more cooking recipes also me and my daughter are being adventurous tonite we are having chicken feet soup lol

I wish you had a restaurant because I would be a regular customer👍🍖🍮🍡
I have to say I just recently found your video's. Love your personality and good looks. You do such a great job taking your time being very informative. Love the personal touch with your video's that has a little bit of your life in it. Great job!
whats wrong with chicken sticks? its chicken on s stick
Totally with Mikey on the crab rangoon! I know it's not any kind of authentic Chinese thing, but I love it...well, love it depending on the place that makes it because some can be pretty disappointing.
I kid you not. We went to the buffet couple weeks ago an my son had been wanting us to make them. Never looked it up, recipe anyway. I told him it was nothing more than fried biscuit dough covered with sugar. So we went an got, lol, generic biscuit dough an came home. Cut it into quarters. Dropped in grease. Soon as it came out we dropped on a napkin to get the extra grease out then dropped in a bowl of sugar. He loved it, well..we did.🤣 So gonna do it again tonight but decided, let me see how your suppose to do it an looked this up. An to my surprise, its the exactly the same. Even the off brand biscuits.🤣🤣 Great job bud an thanks for the secert.😁
Ooh! yay! I've been making these for years for my husband and he loves them. Like, he asks for these at least once a week.
I didn't know I'd been making something that was literally served at restaurants. I feel cool now.
Thank you for uploading this. :-)
What do you do with the oil after you're done cooking?
Honestly these are my favorite ❤️❤️ I could go to a buffet only eat these and be satisfied
Need to try this! Thank you!
im glad i found this 😭 i use to fill takeout boxes up with them and would end up paying at least 7$. now i can make my own
I got ads for Japanese foodstuffs during this. I'm all, "Wrong Ethnic group, yall"
My mind is so blown for this. Also, I just realize your the guy who travels the world trying food on tik tok 😳 You are so awesome and totally living my dreams.
I recently made pumpkin spice and sugar doughnuts with Pillsbury dough... I looked at my husband and I said, "This dough tastes almost EXACTLY like Chinese doughnuts at a buffet. I could literally make those with this dough." Now, I know why it tastes the same. It IS the same, lol.
Thank you so much for this recipe. I always wondered how chinese takeout donuts are made. They are one of my favorite kinds of donuts. I love the density and that oily sugary flavor.
hi i have a question. so i was in shanghai about a month ago and i had a certain pastry thing and im not sure what it was called. there were multiple kinds of it and it look almost like a dessert parfait. it looked like it was vanilla and had a crunchy crackery thing on it. it wasnt sweet at all and the flavor was something id never tasted. the name of it didn't really look chinese but i wouldnt really know since i don't speak chinese, but i was wondering if you have any idea at all what it mightve been
You answered my exact questions in your well put together video. I, too, love the doughnut holes at Chinese buffets. Thanks for the information.
You're grown now, lol I love it
Now why wouldn't she let you eat those things while you were growing up?? Hmmmm
Reminds me of a Canadian Timbit from Tim Hortons.
how is you make the sauce!!! the red sauce!!
This is what my 6th grade math teacher would make for us as a reward. She also rewarded people with gel pens if they received a high enough test score.
oh and yea I do like them their like my sons donuts without cinnamon
I love the steamed dumplings served at my local Chinese buffet. One waitress told me they are made with Pillsbury's or Walmart's biscuit dough too.
I love you for this I'm eating fake chinese food rn. So good
Oh no!!!! We can't get the buttermilk biscuit dough in NZ!!!! My life is over :p
These are very yummy and easy, thanks! Can you show us how to make mochi? I would love to try!
Best recipe video in the history of man...
You said your parents owned a Chinese buffet...do you know how to make those pink pork chops that don’t taste like pork chops ...they are great
I think the chinese donuts are a recipe that is similar to panacakes because it involves Vegetable Oil. Its a terrific idea for a buffet.
Since Gluten-free doughnuts are hard to find (and AWFUL) I am going to try this with my gluten-free biscuit mix!
These look great but there's an American version my mom has made for us since the early 1970's. We still use biscuits but we don't cut them in half. We take a whole biscuit then take a cap from the top of a 2 liter Pepsi or Coke bottle, cut the holes out of the middle then fry up the holes AND the actual doughnuts and instead of just sugar, she uses powdered sugar and vanilla extract and a bit of water to mix to make a fantastic frosting to go over them. Always drop the doughnuts directly into the bowl that contains the frosting so it melts all over it to give it FULL even coating then take out with salad tongs and put on a plate. These were always great on the weekend when we were kids. Especially Saturday morning when they used to show the cool cartoons on the old days.
Xcorgi thanks for that great tip.
When my sisters and I were kids.... My mom would take the GRANDS BRAND BISCUITS.... shape them into 🍩 rings and fry them... Once done she'd sprinkle them with powder sugar!!!! 😩 😭 😭 😭 😭 I do this for me every now and then.... And I cry inside tears 😢 😭 of Pure Joy as I eat them!!!
I’m going to try honey biscuits
My cousin taught me how to make this when I was a kid lol ... I never liked it unless it's fresh
If I really want to make decadent crab rangoon, I will add minced jicama (a little sweet and crunchy!) and dip it in passion fruit puree or sauce. Maybe your mom will like a fruit and vegetable added version better! ^_~
New twist.....cinnamon rolls. Quarter them, roll them, free eye them and THEN ice them. Put icing in zip lock bag, cut out the corner to squeeze icing right onto them
So why didn't your mother let you eat those 3 things? and what is the desired temperature? and why don't you eat at Chinese buffet anymore? And thank you so much I love these 😋 😋 😋 yummy yummy yummy for my tummy tummy tummy God bless and have a great day
My buffets Donuts are bigger. Do they maybe use a whole biscuit just flattened a bit.
Can you use a DEEP FRYER?
This man spilled all the tea😂😂😂 not even Pillsbury, just the generic kind. Im making these period😋😋😋
My parents own a fast food Chinese restaurant but they make the Chinese donuts kind of different. They use the pillsbury brand and it's easier to use bc it's already cut into 10 pc
I love these videos. Please make more. Seriously, you belong on a food network show.
can we stop calling Asians cheap? every MF in business wants to maximize profit margins, independent of race or ethnicity.
Are these authentic chinese donuts? I know chinese buffets can be westernized... I'm asking for education purposes
What the world 😂😂🤣🤣🤣
Well okay fine but please tell us why 😁
Wow I'm so happy to know the secret recipes. Thank You for sharing!
Thank you so much for thiiiiis ! I love chinese doughnuts ! And im in a place were they arent availible so this makes it so much easier to have!
Okay. I'm putting the buttermilk dough on my grocery list. Or 2. Just in case.
You are enjoyable to watch. Thank you for sharing. I just subscribed. Blessings🙏
I've also heard them referred to as boyscout doughnuts. Since, a lot of boyscout troops learn to make them for no apparent reason.
I don't care if Chinese buffets do it like this or don't BUT I'm making donut holes today. loved it
Our local Chinese buffet doesn't even shape the biscuits. Theyre full sized and still have the little circle on the bottom
Looking at the same idea
I didn't really like these as a kid but one day I got Cravings for it. Now I really wanna make some as a gift.
My mom taught me how to make these when I was about 8 been making them every since I want to try fresh biscuit dough
Wait..why didn’t your parents let you eat those three things!? I must at knowwww!!!!
Nooooo...Chinese doughnuts cannot be made from a tube of biscuit dough! Tell me it isn’t so!
My mum used to make this filled with red bean paste or sweet potatoe paste for Chinese/Korean New Years when we were poor
I’m totally making these this week. What’s the best way to store them if I’m serving them the next day?
Thats because u know what happens in the back of the chinese place and you know that crap they put to make u full with 3 bites
Very Nice.Has anyone ever told u that u look like a younger version of Jackie Chan 👍
my favorite thing at the buffet. They remind me of fry bread.
I like that wok. I haven't seen any at my local stores with sides that thick. Where'd you get it?
I play wit the flavors by adding lemon vanilla an strawberry extract 🤗🤗🤗
You are friggen bomb.com
My grandmother use to make this egg doughnut puff that's rolled in sugar. I occasionally see them at buffets but they don't compare. All you taste is sweet egg as you bite in, they would be light and airy. All I think it is is just kits of eggs and self rising flour.
I'm going to make some. Before I use rice flour to make my donut and it didn't turn out brown.
