Nah she’s just rude. There’s another vid where she kept playing over him and you can see him getting annoyed. And at some point when he was trying to explain something she cut him off saying “I know” rudely and Played
Vengerov looks like a really patient and calm guy to hang out with and talk about music. You can learn a lot just from his insights (the emotions of playing violin).
she's a great student. I think she didn't totally agreed with the corrections yet she finally got to what Vengerov wanted to hear. That's a quality to be respected. And I think that's really what is exercised here. Not sharing some 'sacred wisdom', but this practical thing.
He has a wonderful, inspiring way of correcting, and she does well, really trying to understand by doing, and you can tell by the way her sound changes.
wtf are you guys talking about? She's not arrogant and hasn't played over Maxim. They've worked over particular phrase and she's done exactly what he's shown her. Have you badasses ever played violin?
i don't think she's intentionally trying to 'play over him.' her teacher probably plays with her during her lessons a lot. she seems to be a slightly more impatient student so she just wants to try it herself right away. although i do think that at least in a master class, especially with someone like Vengerov, you should be hanging on the Master's every word and watching every example closely so you don't miss a single precious word or note.
Why all these negative reactions? I think many people would be willing to do everything to play as beautiful as this student! Maybe she was really enthusiastic and wanted to try it right away. And I guess it's quite scary to play violin in front of Vengerov, you have to take that into account.
She's in front a musical genius and is receiving tips on how to play, so she obviously wants to try to play as best as she can, and while Vengerov is standing in front of her, it is putting pressure on her. I'm fairly positive that if she were to have practiced alone, she would have played much better. And that is COMING from a violinist. Setting and pressure are everything. Some people cope better, others excel more, and others choke or fall short. So please, enough with the negativity when you should put yourself in her place.
Allen with all due respect the point here isn't about her being under pressure and how good she performs in practice room vs in front of Vengerov. when your instructor is trying to makes a point you should listen.that's all.i just messed up and shred Mozart's 5th Violin concerto in front of a Czech Violinist who traveled to our country for a series of masterclasses and workshops 4 month ago .at least i tried to act respectful and lesson to him carefully yes/indeed she is receiving tips on how to play and she wants to try to play as best as she can but there is something called respect.
Don't try to play with him when he is showing you how to do it, listen and watch is really important when you have master class with such a wonderful violinist
@GawdOFVIOLINZ From what I understand, Maxim is still playing some recitals as of this year, but lately has expanded his musical work to include conducting and judging of various competitions. He is a professor at the Royal Academy of Music in London and I believe this masterclass as well as most of his others are held there. Although he doesn't perform in public as much as he did at the height of his concert career, a master musician never stops playing their instrument.
Maybe she plays when Vengerov's playing because that's how she learns? Sometimes I do that with my violin teacher but we both understand that it helps me, not because I'm impatient or trying to cover him up. I think she looks cocky maybe because she's trying so hard to achieve what Vengerov is telling her to do, and she does. She struck me as cocky at first too, but then I saw her achieve Vengerov's wishes so well I thought otherwise. :D
After I die, the first thing I will say when I get there is: thank you God for putting the violin on my path in the world. Forgive me for not being a very good violinist, I did what I could do, whatever the case, the violin made my existence much happier. Thank you very much.
@GawdOFVIOLINZ Also, using the violin as a tool in teaching a masterclass is critical. Often, a student needs to hear and feel what the instructor means in order to really understand the direction they are given. I'm sure he still plays several hours a day to keep himself fresh, and even more when preparing a concert.
hii this is reallly cool but can i ask when this video was taken cuz as i can recall maxim no longer plays the violin as a violinst ( correct me if im wrong ) ? thnx
She has to listen to Vengerov when he is playing and showing her how to play. She didn't listen so I think that's why Vengerov said "look you see" several times
A good friend of Maestro Vengerov, Gyorgy Pauk has taught an excellent MC about the Mendelssohn concerto for iClassical Academy: iclassical-foundation.com/video-lesson/lesson/mendelssohn-violin-concerto-e-minor-op-64-1st-mov/
Some people learn by doing more than just watching, she probably was just playing with him to get a better idea of how her sound fits and doesn't fit with his. I don't think it's a huge deal?
He also sings wonderful! I did´nt knew! for me he is one of the estonnishing violinists ever :-) And the little student ;-) does not understand, what he means and feels...pity.
Her phrasing was the problem. It sounds like she was just playing the notes, not really a singing tone like he was trying to get her to understand. That ties in to the bowing issue.
What I don't understand is how a student at the Royal Academy can reach such a level with obvious technical faults that haven't been corrected. For example her neck seems tense, her left shoulder is hunched and her left elbow is far too far under the violin. Look what happens when she relaxes ad 0:25. Advanced Russian students seem to have a more natural and relaxed technique. I guess there's a reason why the UK produces so few world-class string performers...
The student should concentrate on the music rather than staring at Vengerov while she plays. That's why he keeps having to go over the same passage with her. I'm sure he doesn't want that crow-like face staring at him so much.
i respect you putting a capital G on God. Thank you for your respect towards Him. anyways, i understand that, but its cause he mastered the piece. therefore she should at least shut up some time and listen to him so he could listen yes?
u obviously cannot see body and face expressions. she wanted all the eyes and the people glorifying her, not maxim, so she plays over him and she gets easily pissed as he keeps stopping her.
Poor girl. She is extremely talented, and a student of this outstanding teacher, yet people are bashing her on UA-cam.
I agree. comments are just amazingly childish, rude, and stupid. People who probably never took a music class
@@AntoineGarnier because they dont know how hard violin is as a intrument.
Nah she’s just rude. There’s another vid where she kept playing over him and you can see him getting annoyed. And at some point when he was trying to explain something she cut him off saying “I know” rudely and
Played
Maxim Vengerov is such a good person, he really cares about helping students. Bless him!
Vengerov looks like a really patient and calm guy to hang out with and talk about music. You can learn a lot just from his insights (the emotions of playing violin).
Maxim is such a genious His sound production is chilling
Amazing how her sound changes when she listens to Vengerov....
Absolutely, which proves he is a good teacher as well. Liked the way he persisted until she caught on and then genuinely said "bravo" when she did.
2:07 dude in the back is like "damn dawg"
He's probably a teacher and have been playing for 30+ years but didn't know his instrument could sound so good
she's a great student. I think she didn't totally agreed with the corrections yet she finally got to what Vengerov wanted to hear. That's a quality to be respected. And I think that's really what is exercised here. Not sharing some 'sacred wisdom', but this practical thing.
She does it very nice at the end.
Everytime I watch one of his masterclass videos I find myself going:" Just let the man play!" XD
Her eyebrow movement at 2:12 = "easy for you to say"
no I think she is just amazed by the projection of sound of Mr.Vengerov
I love the look on Maxim's face at 1:21, when he looks at the pianist.
He has a wonderful, inspiring way of correcting, and she does well, really trying to understand by doing, and you can tell by the way her sound changes.
Maxim Vangerov is the best!!!
wtf are you guys talking about? She's not arrogant and hasn't played over Maxim. They've worked over particular phrase and she's done exactly what he's shown her.

what an amazing artist is vengerov
It was really just a bow issue all along...I love her.
Why all these negative reactions? I think many people would be willing to do everything to play as beautiful as this student! Maybe she was really enthusiastic and wanted to try it right away. And I guess it's quite scary to play violin in front of Vengerov, you have to take that into account.
Kleurigeklonken7 ridiculous! You know nothing about music and violin
She's in front a musical genius and is receiving tips on how to play, so she obviously wants to try to play as best as she can, and while Vengerov is standing in front of her, it is putting pressure on her. I find I play worse in front of my teacher and he's not a famous genius
Allen with all due respect
the point here isn't about her being under pressure and how good she performs in practice room vs in front of Vengerov.

yes/indeed she is receiving tips on how to play and she wants to try to play as best as she can but there is something called respect.
she keeps playing the same way and just don't get what vengerov is saying
Bravo!!
Don't try to play with him when he is showing you how to do it, listen and watch is really important when you have master class with such a wonderful violinist
But sometimes learning by playing along how she tried is easier

Vengerov é o melhor da atualidade.
Maxim Vengerov MAESTRO de Excelencia.
After I die, the first thing I will say when I get there is: thank you God for putting the violin on my path in the world. Forgive me for not being a very good violinist, I did what I could do, whatever the case, the violin made my existence much happier. Thank you very much.
Grande professor!
ohhhh.............. i felt in paradise.
He's great - I heard him conduct the Pathétique Symphony by Tchaikovsky here in Montreal about 10 years ago.
Her sound came on a lot even throughout this video!
Great Vengerov!
Guy at the back of vengerov always there,
Wow his voice when he singing are niceeeeeeeeeeereeeeeeeee
Great!
O cara e fera mesmo
Why there's only 196k views???
You can learn a lot from this lesson...

Allieva bravissima ed insegnante eccezionale!!!!!!!!!!1
he has nice voice too
She's a good student.
When was this masterclass?
Vengerov holds masterclass often at RAC?
hii this is reallly cool
but can i ask when this video was taken cuz as i can recall maxim no longer plays the violin as a violinst ( correct me if im wrong ) ?
thnx
2:08 and going up to the high note - sigh!
does anyone know what concerto it is? i know its mendelssohn violin concerto, but which one??
@mpgattuso1 Did you make up the last sentence or did you get it from a book?
Name of the peice ?
What piece is this
She has to listen to Vengerov when he is playing and showing her how to play. She didn't listen so I think that's why Vengerov said "look you see" several times
teacher and student playing together makes the student understand more because it compares the students playing and the teacher.
It seems like he's trying to teach her interpretation, not technique. I don't get it. Shouldn't she be allowed her own interpretation?
talented! lol we must recognize that the violin is frusciante habeces happens to me! and it's like you throw a bucket of cold water!
She looks like Viktoria Mullova!!!Saving distance of course. But she plays very well
Maybe she looks the way she looks, a bit tense, because she knows she is going to land on youtube with the world watching her...wouldn't we do..?
Oh she's good 🙂
A good friend of Maestro Vengerov, Gyorgy Pauk has taught an excellent MC about the Mendelssohn concerto for iClassical Academy: iclassical-foundation.com/video-lesson/lesson/mendelssohn-violin-concerto-e-minor-op-64-1st-mov/
@JerryTheDino in her mind she's like "GAWDDDDDD"
1:17
He's voice is much more better...
Some people learn by doing more than just watching, she probably was just playing with him to get a better idea of how her sound fits and doesn't fit with his. I don't think it's a huge deal?

@harrynking777 I made it up.
Op.64.
2:10...attitude, geez
Girl! Why playing at the same time as your master!!!??
i know its a lesson but it drives me crazy that he keeps stopping them! hahaha
Great musicians can be quite meticulous
Orrrrr, you're just making a big deal out of it. :p
LOL he had his glory for quite a while.
@violonistchris maybe she had a bad day
Lol! I wonder if that was attitude. Strange rofl.

2:19 ROFL she looks so irritated...
Плохо что на английском
I wonder how much she paid him to have a lesson with him. Damn she's rich
The student needs to work on her tone production before approaching pieces like this.
The student should concentrate on the music rather than staring at Vengerov while she plays. That's why he keeps having to go over the same passage with her. I'm sure he doesn't want that crow-like face staring at him so much.
Not at all
she looks disrespectful
i respect you putting a capital G on God. Thank you for your respect towards Him. anyways, i understand that, but its cause he mastered the piece. therefore she should at least shut up some time and listen to him so he could listen yes?
she plays all out of tune
It's not that out of tune. Sounds fine to me
maxim always has that unexpressive general cocky face, but now I view him differently. she's probably even worse
i'm sorry, but she seems a little annoyed by his advances.i'd give anything to have a masterclass with this genuis and i'd do anything he'd tell me.
u obviously cannot see body and face expressions. she wanted all the eyes and the people glorifying her, not maxim, so she plays over him and she gets easily pissed as he keeps stopping her.
omg why can't she just do it????? lol
I guess she doesnt need more study, because she thinks she's good enough.....
you are never good enough
