I just thought i should clear my doubts on record types and he just explained it in such a good way that i will remember it in my next life too :D , but you should've mentioned if anyone wants to create a record type in lead/case/opportunity they first need to create a process before.

Hi Hulk, I do understand record type and most of Salesforce.
A dev working as a resource for a client developed a system in which he was constantly switching opportunity record type to manage different page layout during an opp journey..when i said this isn't good practice and is nearly insane he sent this vidoe link....n i see most vidoes on UA-cam highlight record type's power on page layouts but not their deep connection with the sales process

Hello Shrey, how to call Visual Force page from record types?
I am confused whether your points are contradictory or I have understood like this. When manager click employee record type then picklist will be of employee record type and page layout will be of manager record type. Then how it is possible to assign two page layout for a single profile ?
You have option to select which page layout to show while creating the record type and assigning into profile. Like in this video, when creating a employee record type shrey selected employee profile and then clicking on next gives u the option to select the page layout to be used for employee record type. So he selected employee page layout for employee profile and manager layout for manger profile. ( In Video - 17th min)

we can create multiple page layout and we can assign them to different different profile, so why we use record type if we can assign them without using of record type

I have 1 doubt on Global value picklist .
We have opportunity object , there was a picklist field Status, ('Created','Submitted','Approve')
I have promoted status picklist to global picklist.
we have created global picklist & added all values there ( StatusGlobal -'Created','Submitted','Approve')
Now i can see values in opportunity creation & Record detail page while on edit.
In developer sandbox i added these 2 fields & pushed to QA sandbox through GIT.
I have added 2 more values global picklist ---->statusGlobal ('Pending','Closed')
after deployed to QA i can't see newly added values in detail page & while creating opportunity. but values are there in Global picklist valueset.
Can you suggest a way to add new picklist value & it has to visible in detailpage as well as while creating opportunity.
Please provide some help on this.

I can understand based on the record type the values in picklist getting changed. But, dont know how other things happening.
Like mandatory to non mandatory, hiding field. Hope that are not happening by record type. You've already designed the page layout based on profile right. It is not something to do with record type right?

Shrey, Looking into your requirement, we dont need to create 2nd Record Type(i.e Manager Record Type), Everything can be controlled by Employee Record Type (making the Initial Balance Mandate on Employee Page as well as Not Showing the Field of Trading ) and then Activating the Trading Field for ONLY Manager Profile via Employee Record Type.
Are you saying that with a single record type we can assign different page layout to different profile but only one page layout to one profile, If yes! Then this is correct but understand that if we want different picklist value for different profiles then it is necessary to use multiple record types.

content and explanation is good, but can you use some good quality mic, so that you can keep the voice same level across the lessions? also slow down a little bit, i can reduce the audio speed in youtube, but it hear weired sound. :), and also use good lightings, may be bouncing from your room roof, and stop moving around, you move a lot, hence audio and lights varies.!

By just making it required on the page layout by clicking on the wrench in front of it and not making it required in the field definition.

Great lesson however, I think you will reach more people if you speak slowly. We are different when it comes to accents. People who came from other areas might have difficulties understanding you and with your fast speaking rate, it is moot helping. I watch your videos and love those in which you speak slowly. I must say you are great and I learn a lot from your videos.
You can adjust the playback speed in settings. hope that helps
How to delete a record type?

1. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A USER WHO OWNS A RECORD, IS NO LONGER WITH THE COMPANY AND THE RECORD GETS TRANSFERED TO ANOTHER USER WHO HAS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PROFILE - WILL THE RECORD TYPE REMAIN THE SAME.SAY THE NEW USER'S PROFILE HAS NO ACCESS TO THAT RECORD TYPE WILL IT JUST REVERT TO DEFAULT RECORD TYPE
2.WHAT HAPPENS TO THE LAYOUT OF THE RECORD WHEN SAY A RECORD IS TRANSFERED FROM ONE USER TO A DIFFERENT USER WITH A DIFFERENT PROFILE. NOW THE RECORD TYPE REMAINS THE SAME BUT THE SECOND USER CAN HAVE A DIFFERENT LAYOUT ASSISGNED TO HIS PROFILE.

I have a query.........
I have created two record types... Sales and Marketing... followed the same procedure as shown in the above video.
But while creating a new record, I am not getting option to choose record types from those two. Why is it so? Can you please help me with the same.
It is directly taking me to create the corresponding account (i.e. sales or marketing) on the two custom profiles-Custom admin and Standard User.
While creating record types, I have assigned them to two profiles -
For Sales Record Type : 1. Standard User 2. System Admin
For Marketing Record Type : 1. Custom admin 2. System Admin.
Note: I have checked below and it is unchecked. Still no luck.
My settings->Display & Layout->Set Default Record Type.
From which profile you are logged in?
It should be System Admin if you want both of the record types to be available. Also please check that both the record types are active.

As we can create 2 record types for single profile, then when i logged in with that profile , I think it should give me both the options of record types to choose. Am I right? Please correct me if I am wrong.
