Ms Bowser may not have said it but on that day only a Governor or 45(who was still pretending to be president) had the authority to call in the National Guard. 45 was watching his insurrection on TV to see if it was successful. Only when it failed did he finally call in the Guard.

They then moved it to the eastern shore near the first colony in Virginia so they cud detect enemy ships. Constitutionally, you cannot add a state out of land from another state. DC land was set aside for the purpose of having a separate area for the Federal Government. The land really belongs to Maryland originally so unless we change the Constitution, it should be returned to the state of origin, if not used for the purpose it was set aside for.

No. Article 8 says the District shall be no more than ten square miles. The plan is to shrink it. That still meets the constitution.
