@hhistertheosis that's a good point, something that is unnatural can be harder to master. Not in all cases but I agree with that statement. Like playing octodad is harder than actually walking. Lol
Tbh, the main things i care about in any racing game, is handling/physics, car and track selection, graphics, and FFB. EA WRC is pretty good in all these areas IMO. I think maybe i prefer the handling Dirt Rally 2.0 has for dirt roads, but EA WRC feel like it has more fine details in the handling/physics, and MUCH more finely detailed graphics. Damage models is not as important IMO, as if i really wanted to, i can pretend it has realistic damage, and drive as carefully as i would IRL, and restart every time i crashed at more than 30km/h. The "hardcore damage" model in EA WRC seem a bit forgiving compared to what i would expect, considering it claims to be "realistic damage", but it is still enough to motivate me to TRY to stay on the road. Id be surprised if rally cars are not built to withstand a lot more than the average family car (or BeamNG damage model), so for all i know, maybe the "hardcore damage" model actually is kinda realistic..? No rally game is perfect, and one could spend ones time finding reasons to hate them, or be happy with what we have. Obviously there are limits to what is enjoyable, but both EA WRC, Dirt Rally 2.0, and WRC 10 goes past what i personally need to enjoy a game. Ya...really does. At the end of the day, it looks decent enough but still definitely more of a lateral move graphically from dirt rally 2.0 and even a downgrade in some ways. I bet wooden fences are still impenetrable. Lol
@@SleepyPantsSimRacing especially if you play in vr. dirt rally 2.0 looks beautiful in vr. ea erc looks like a blurry ps1 game with low framerates and stuttering. dirt rally 1 looked better in vr with a gtx1060 back in the day than ea wrc could ever hope to achieve with my rtx3080ti. its ridiculous how far backwards we go in some ways. i guess at least it looks acceptable for standard non vr players though. very comparative to dirt rally 2.0. sometimes worse, sometimes better. albeit with more micro stuttering. so for most people its a non issue. for vr players its a complete game breaker. i spent money on this game and it sits there unused. i kind of feel cheated. i should not have bought it. but i saw 'vr support added' and i bought. little did i know it was still unplayable in vr. maybe if you have a 4090. although there are plenty of comments even from 4090 owners saying its not playable in vr.

@socks2441 interesting...I can't believe they are discouraging sports...that's crazy to me.
@@SleepyPantsSimRacing yeah. technically they just say to be careful, but the way it comes across is that they are discouraging it. i was shocked enough when it was mountain biking etc, but then they came after our national sports: cricket and rugby. (this is in new zealand).
@socks2441 I mean rugby is pretty brutal lol but people love contact sports, always have and I think most likely always will. Modern day gladiators like ufc and such.
vr still broken for me
@@fullnelson2961 sad...perhaps one day...lol
Whays your setup?
for everyone mate. oh well. i guess we are the niche. we can at least still play dirt rally 1, 2 and rbr rsf. and the new rally physics for ac.
sup guy
@@fullnelson2961 yo yo!!!
bro still the graphic outdated
Im out of this time...because physics and super low damage effect driving experience is fucking awful if compare to rbr...game looks very good so sad to see waisted potential of game...
it's a licensed game, damage is never going to be severe... can't compare that to a fan-modded game. If you keep it on the track, why would damage matter? There is stage-ending crashes already. Part damage is just calling for inconsistencies with collisions...
@@msum23 hi yes i know. Even i think om ok driver but i cant still keep car on the track allways example if crash into tree or wall basicly no damage on the car like it realy should be...if want it more realistic and think about your driving more where to take risk and where more safty. But no worriest i drive rbr ofcorse its not good looking as wrc. I hope others find happy in wrc game.
Damage is very poorly implemented in this game, it really is sad. I always said it would be better to have a hardcore damage mode and then have a soft core damage mode for newer players rather than force a soft meat stick in everyone's mouth...lol I mean I'll take a bite but I want that mouth resistance!!!
