- I broke my Minox B film cassette, so another film loading method is born lol 😂
I dont know if i would suggest you break your minox b film cassette, but for me i sort of like the take-up spool physically separated from the undeveloped film spool
This is my first attempt at close-up photography with my minox b. I tried several focus distance settings between 8” and 1’6” and using the bead guides ok the attached chain.
In true “spy” fashion using just a single desk lamp for illumination.
Some photos at 1/200th and some at 1/100th
Of course aperture at f3.5
HP5+ iso 400 film
Next time i think i will try shutter speeds 1/100th and 1/50th
Some of the photos i definitely missed sharp focus. I hope you can still enjoy.
Also demonstrated yet another film loading method

NOTE: ok, i am a moron and i messed this up. i am positive that i missed focus on so many pictures because i confused 🤷♂️ the 10” and 1’ markings ... i will reshoot this video and picture set and plan on taking shots at the distances 8”, 10”, 1’, 1’6”, and 2’ and use the corresponding “beads” on the minox chain as a measurement guide ... to be continued
NOTE #2: additionally, i would like to apologize for the stutteryness of this video, the video portion is not like that in the original, and somehow picked that up when uploaded, fortunately, the audio was not affected (i do not believe, or at least i cannot detect it) so maybe close your eyes lol sorry this almost makes me motion sick watching 🤢 🤮 ... i would re-upload but i need to redo the entire video anyways because of NOTE #1 so i think i will just leave it with that
NOTE #3: after video production review, it has been identified that the video portion stutter was not introduced at upload to youtube. the production assistant that cast that blame upon youtube has been sacked. the video stutter was actually introduced when the video product that came from the recording camera was joined with the picture gallery using imovie. the imovie assistant and quality assurance assistants have also been sacked. please consider this a retraction of previous statements concerning fault residing with youtube, and i sincerely apologize for the factual error.
Great video. How do you scan your film?
hello. thank- you for watching the video and for taking the time to leave such a nice comment. to scan my film i use a nikon D810 with a sigma 110 macro lens, a cinestill light pad purchased direct from cinestill, and a 3d printed minox 8mm film holder that i purchased off of etsy. i developed the film in a jobo tank using a 3d printed 8mm film reel (made specifically for use with the jobo tank) also purchased off of etsy. hope that helps. thanks again for watching. the Rabbit. =:3
update! recently went out to the kamerastore website to purchase a bay 1 lenshood for my baby rolleiflex and decided to bundle in a purchase of their valoi minox film holder designed specifically to pair with the cinelight pad. this should greatly increase the “ease of use” of my digital process for minox negatives. cheers, the Rabbit. =:3
