- In this I'll be demonstrating the multi-stage mechanism for chairs and landing pads.
Basically that means that they start of in one place/position and after pressing a switch they go through a convoluted process of turning and moving before arriving somewhere else!
The ABBA mechanism used is based on the rotary block technique I used in my Shifting Lights and Patterns video • Shifting Lights and Pa...
I'm using my new headphones with integrated speakers for this video, so may sound a bit muffled. Plus I think there's a few weird audio artefacts too.
Also sorry for the letterboxing, my new video editing software is a pain to use.
The test facility in the video can be downloaded from my Steam workshop at steamcommunity...
Starship EVO is in early access and is available on Steam: store.steampow...
Yep, that‘s exactly what i needed. Working on my first ship, theorycrafting layout and some mechanisms, was wondering how to move subgrids in one order going one way, but a different/opposite order when reversing.
Wow, I'm surprised the logic in the game still behaves the same way after all this time. I haven't played in a while.
These vids are ridiculously good value, please don't stop making them
Thank you! I'll make more once it's a bit more stable and the current experimental branch rolls over to stable.
Fantastic!
If you remember to queue up the needed items before making your videos, I think you'll easily get more traction/views.
I enjoy very much you showing off interesting builds and then how to build them, but when you don't seem fully prepared and need to search through items, my mind starts to wander a bit.
That's ae problem, not a you problem, just saying that if you did a rehearsal (or an extra one if you do rehersala) and then the video, you could mitigate the friction experienced by people like me.
Again, fantastic video, thanks!
Previous videos I had done a few trial runs, but this one I just ran with it :)
The building itself was only created for the video, so that could count towards prep :D
Nice work. I haven't played in a long time. I'm not pleased with the new updates. Have totally changed the way I build things. So I guess I'll wait a few years until it finalised. But your vids are always inspiring 👏
Thank you :) I know what you mean, I'm getting frustrated with when new features are added, but they aren't stabilised before more are added. It just seems like the developer is making more work for themselves. Hopefully they'll improve as I'm still enjoying building in this game.
A much more elegant usage of that logic than I came up with. Any chance you'd upload this to Steam so we can have a real world play?
Sure, I'll upload a bit later once I've woken up proper
Here's the link to it on Steam steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2415212195
Thanks you very much for that. Playing tropico 6 today as Ive got a bit creativity burnt out with my maquis raider. But its got a decending docking bay with cargo bay doors that your method looks perfect for.
No worries, thank you for kicking my arse into gear to get this done. :)
All this in Empyrion an u have the perfect game.
I'd like to try that one eventually
