- Roman Coleman (Matthias Schoenaerts), a convict in a rural Nevada prison who struggles to escape his past, rediscovers his own humanity in a social rehabilitation program. There he must gentle an especially unbreakable mustang named Marcus. During the program, Roman is helped by a no-nonsense veteran trainer (Bruce Dern) and an outgoing fellow inmate and trick rider (Jason Mitchell). His journey with Marcus inspires a heartfelt connection and challenges him to be a better person.

Wolfie Star galaxy yeah it’s messed up but that’s how it is. About a month ago some wild horses were roaming just outside my work. Not sure how they got them out of there but they are dangerous animals

It's heartbreaking, but with their natural predators hunted to near-extinction and pressure also from ranchers to range-roam their cattle, the precious environment is being destroyed by the overwhelming rise in numbers, threatening the survival of native species and the health of the mustangs themselves. It is those kept penned I feel most angry about. Leave them, use them and give them an active, stimulated life, or cull them, but don't keep them imprisoned in deprived environments.
The government rounded them up because they want the land for farming & ranchers, The horses are kept in very poor condition, many got sick, bitten & kicked at. Watch the documentary on Sky Dog Santurary, it's inhumane how we treat the mustangs. Once again human being is the worst kind of animal.
How much would you hate yourself .... if you could not control yourself for a split second and you put yourself in this hell on earth for twelve years? No... that's not the important part. That is the minor detail. The most important part is that you have destroyed your wife, who has given your baby girl, by beating her up to the point that she became a vegetable thus making your precious baby girl, a worse prisoner than you because she has to care for her for the rest of her natural life, all by herself. She didn't even get to have a choice. Split second was all it took for him to decimate any hope of happiness in three different individual's life, all of whom he dearly loved. I have much respect for the producer, director and screen writer, all in one person, I understand, and of course( she chose the right person) to Matthias for delivering this fundamental lesson through such a moving delivery. The story will live with me for a long time and hopefully guide me and may others.
