Really wanted to thank this channel for being the only source of calmness for me, I've been going through some things and visiting this channel would finally help me forget and relax. Thank you
One game that you may like to explore is a game called "Teardown" the main gimmick of it is that the entire environment of the different maps are destructable, and that you need to use that to your advantage to pull off daring heists, and while that may not suit the channel, the maps im pretty sure will, they are all completely empty places such as a chemical plant, small town,a mall,a industrial island,a mansion, etc. And the thing is that no people are present in the maps, now there are reasons to that (town evacuated, workplace closed for the night, owners are out, etc) But that still doesnt take away from the kinda loneliness of the maps. And another thing, you can actually see the maps have physical changes because of what you did in the previous missions,in fact, due to the events of one misson, the chemical plant and town get completely flooded,as well as other details in other maps. idk what you think but i think it would be a great game to explore the maps of.
to add onto games that might not suit the channel but still may be interesting to look at: ultrakill a lot of enviroments there are pretty great and we recently had a teaser of a new p-2 with its ambient music, which was pretty creepy and comfy™
Oho ho YES! Video starts, and I immediately love the atmosphere. The darkness, the fog, the empty city. YEEEEEEEEEES! Gonna enjoy having this play in the background while I draw~. 0:17 and 0:42 Has anyone else notice this happening a few times? The start of the video plays normally, but then it replays part of the video we just saw. I wonder if this is some kind of trick Librarian is pulling on us.
Librarian, I've had an awful past few days with me getting into a car accident, and many other things. But seeing you upload an exploration today has cheered me up a bit. Can't wait to watch the video and be invested in your thoughts about your surroundings.
You unlocked some really ancient memories in my mind exploring ttt_urban_ruins. I used to play on the TDR Zombie Master server that the mapper frequented almost every night. It was back probably between 07-09 it's hard to remember exactly I was in high school then. He had this series I believe a trilogy of long linked Zombie Master maps that was really well made. There was a secret if I recall on the map to unlock a room with a hidden suppressed pistol in TTT that I think he told me how to do but it's just been so long I don't remember. Thank you for reminding me of all those good times.
Hah, that was me! Good times indeed. For the curious, the secret is that there is a loose tile thats actually a physics object behind the counter of the submerged coffee shop you can lift up to reveal a key, taking it to the double doors of the grey building on the same block will unlock them. Inside there's a radio and a silenced pistol even innocents can pick up.
28:30 It does, but I don't know that it is heavily used. There is also a game called Space Engineers that does have reasonably active multiplayer and, as the name implies, involves a lot of, well, engineering. :P

Your mannerisms are very calming and I'm looking forward to your next minecraft video and I hope you make it into a full on, non-stop lets-play.
This is just what I needed the librarian exploring a gmod map video I can watch during breakfast on a rainy Saturday morning thanks Chris for providing the comfy part of your channels motto
Map recommendation: gm_memory. It's an extremely small map however the possible story telling from the name and the map itself is amazing. Also there's a secret on the map that has many possibilities for explanation Hint: it has a trigger that's outside the playable area that plays a sound
4:09 I remember a dream where I was lost in a deserted city remotely looks like Vorkuta. It was more gray. An overcast monochrome sky illuminated the flat, three storeys high post-Soviet panel houses. I knew I was in a dream, but couldn't do anything.
Apocalyptic gmod maps are so underrated, I think the source engine is what makes them shine, imagine all the kinds of desolate and lonely scenarios that can be made!
what you're saying about one small detail even something imperceptible can completely changing an environment is so true i had to go up to this hospital for a routine doctor's appointment and even though i've been to this place hundreds of times i normally go early in the morning but this time it was 2:00 PM and it felt like a completely different building it was so silent and eerie and i just got this liminal space backrooms type vibe like i go there so often i know this place as well as my own home i'm super comfortable there but just it being a few hours difference made the whole vibe so different and i can't even explain why because it's not like the lighting was the same and there was still some people around it just felt different in an undescribable way but my brain is a bit broken so maybe i was just disassociating that day
With all of the destroyed buildings and the flooding. I wonder if with Urban Ruins that the city was hit by a massive earthquake or something in what ever backstory you can think of for the place. That thought popped into my head because I've been watching a racing game called 'MotorStorm Apocalypse' where you race through a city being torn apart by severe tremors leading to an earthquake of apocalyptic proportions.
One of the (many) things I love about your channel and commentary is the oddly-specific yet very real things you mention and point out, most commonly when you see a small formation of shadows and objects that briefly looks like something else, things that other UA-camrs (even a cerebral and/or horror-focused one) wouldn't point out, but my new favourite example is how (in a very good way) I don't think I've EVER heard anyone else but me mention the feeling of the bathroom floor when you're sick!
I completely agree with you about the bathroom floor feeling like the most comfortable place when you're sick. When I was sick with a terrible fever as a kid, I slept on the tile floor of my grandma's bathroom for an entire weekend. I think it was knowing that I was right next to the toilet in case of any kind of emergency that made me feel so comfortable, but I'm really not sure.
the first map isn't a post apocalypse map rofl. Idk if it's scarier to know, the place you're seeing is called Norilsk. As someone who's been there. It looks exactly like this. Right down to the emptiness. infact, the map here makes it look alot cleaner and colourful.
I wonder what would Urbex looked like in S&box, but its pretty good to see improvements on a new game since Source engine is quite old, but still to manage to make it better by modders in the community
I recommend playing some of Lily’s half life 1 maps, lots of them has actual stuff to do and explore, and one of them had puzzles and I actually had fun.
I don't know if you've checked it out before but I highly recommend playing into the radius. It's a VR game that fits your channels aesthetics perfectly with the creepy and comfy ambience
I know this video is two months old, but my mouth literally dropped open when I heard the Librarian say that when he was sick, the most comfortable place was the bathroom floor. I didn't think I would EVER hear someone else say that. I feel the exact same way, I remember being sick at 3 am and just lying on the bathroom floor, sometimes using a towel as a headrest. literally so cathartic, and i encourage everyone to try getting on the floor sometimes. just to be down there.
You merntioned from the depths! And I have to say that world while highly complicated has some spooky vibes via you being the only physical- thing.... there thats not a robot
Even then- you are an android like suit, dispite the music and the vast ocean..... I have to say its disigner mode is by far the creepiest if you just build a small house on a shoreline..
That water one is interesting to me personally since i've had so many regular dreams and random daydreams about flooded urban areas, if it was a sub-way tunnel it would've been perfect.

I'm just going to say this now, Purgatory isn't actually Eternal punishment, it's a place where Souls will be purified by fire, which means they will go to heaven eventually, but they aren't going to go immediately. The only real punishment you're going to get until then is the pain of loss and sense
I adore your content! With all the over the top horror game reaction content out there this really is a breath of fresh air. If I could make a game reccomendation I think you'd enjoy "Jim's Computer". It's a ROBLOX game, which might be off putting initially but it really capsulates the psychological horror genre well with a hard hitting ending. It's fairly short and something I'd think you'd like
