I pay to play. That way I do not build up a sense of obligation. Also my demeanor clearly conveys that there is no money here. Not interested to meet the realatives. The bank is right around the corner. I worked 35 years in 2 jobs. Nobody felt sorry for me when I got up 5 am. They can do the same.
Not only that, once you either loan them money or give them money, they will continue to ask you again and again. Once you finally wise up and say no, they will get mad and demand an explanation.
Shay, you are the best! 100% correct. You are responsible and budget for your family. You make sacrifices everyday to make sure your girls are taken care of. You have a very healthy outlook on boundaries and finances. I think you are an awesome lady!!
When I said no raising my kids and there was any pushback, I would simply ask,” tell me, is it the N or the O that is giving you heartburn”. A clear sign to them dad was not budging.
I never loan what I can’t afford to give. I rarely if ever loan anyone money, I prefer to just give it. My initials are not ATM. There have been times when I have offered to help but if I am asked for money I say no, choosing instead to help come up with ideas/solutions to that persons situation. Having said all that, I do help but in my own way. I am rather generous when giving gifts to family for birthdays, Christmas, anniversaries etc. Also, I am known for inviting people over for a large meal making certain that there is plenty for everyone to take home. 🏠 I also like to help people in ways like filling large boxes with food (always include a 25kg bag of rice 😊) and other things, especially for children. What I’m saying is I believe in being generous without being an ATM.
Yes, small amounts become larger amounts. Frequent requests become more and more to the point of everyday asking/demanding. MONEY issues in any form will never end...
Make a habit of giving what you can afford. Don't look at it as a loan, if you are unable to give money just say so. Whatever you do make sure you are polite so they can safe face.
To be able to afford a nice drink at THE HENRY, which is not cheap, these four ladies must have been handsomely rewarded by YT or super chats, they surely don't need any utang.
hey there, is that the only thing you know that a Filipina can earn and afford stuffs? Sorry you have not met the hardworking ones who has life beyond UA-cam and is doing well with it :)
@expatguideph oh really? I am rooting for you. 😊 👍. Then can you do a video of your high paying job in your office? Your high maintenance lifestyle need at least a six figure monthly salary to sustain. I am sure we viewers would appreciate your sharing it. By the way, I pay my Yaya from Pinas 40k pesos monthly. To her that's a decent salary sa Pinas. Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 and have a great future!
the filipino word ''borrow'' in english means 'have'. unless its referring to tools, then it means ''break'' i didnt know this when i 1st came here but now i understand the confusion.🤔
The spiritual one, the creative one, the naughty one and the excellent content creator. Where’s mother Mary. Excellent advice ladies. I always enjoy when you all get together.
Finding a partner and the correct one ☝️..should be one on your top priorities. This will make your life so much easier if your in the Philippines, stick to basic rules. Mixing with poorer Filipino with most likely get you drawn into a mindset that inherently has begging associated with that lifestyle. So you get what you wish for …modern Filipino, don’t generally ask for money as it’s embarrassing and throws a bad light on them. These modern Filipino, will work and are independent.
Never ever ever let them borrow money. Just say you don’t have it or smile and act like you didn’t hear them or understand what they said. It can end up being your life.
Just so you know when I type I cannot see the message until it posts and I cannot correct any errors if I click on the sentence it goes invisible.some kind of youtube bug or something. sorry for misspelling in advance.
Very good conversation ladies it helps to understand the culture of lending and borrowing in the Philippines. From person to person it’s best to give them money. Without the expectation of receiving the money in return. This greatly ruins relationships.
Learning to say no is an important skill that can help you protect your personal boundaries, reduce stress, and balance your personal and professional life, signing of from Australia
America and the Philippines have some things in common. My mother use to always say never borrow money from the people you work for. Now in America it is extremely difficult to get a cash advance from your employer. Americans would have to go to a PayDay Loan type business to get cash before they receive their paycheck. There are a large number of Americans who don't have a clue about money. Some Americans can't meet a $500 emergency, no matter the amount of money they are making. Friendship and money, family and money are like oil and water, they just don't mix. Lending money is like going to the casino, you only play with money that you can afford to lose.
I used to hang out with this "First Nations" family here in Canada, that's when I first started to loan money. I lent money to 10 people and only 4 paid me back. When I would ask them for my money back, they would either ignore me or lie, and that's why I stopped lending money. When I went to the Philippines and met my wife there, not a single person asked to borrow money from me. My wife had a decent job there and her cousins would always ask her for money. She would lend to them, but she would never get that money back.
From what I have observed it is a cultural thing in the Philippines. If you start loaning money to help out the family then it becomes expected of you. What is worse your are thought as being selfish because your are assumed to be rich. It is your duty to help out until you leave or run out of money.
I ask what do they have for collateral that is worth more than the amount they want to borrow, and are they willing to sign the paper work showing that they owe me this for none payment of the loan when total payment is due and not paid on that date. If they don't like what I am offering. Then I tell them to go to the bank for a loan !
I love this interview these women are Correct. Especially the one in the middle with the brown "We ARE CRIPPLING FAMILY BY LENDING" We have the same problem here in america .
The best thing to say is no but this happens all the time to me. If it's a pretty girl the best thing to say is there are things girls want and there's things guys want and unless I'm getting what I want I'm not loaning any money.
Friendship is worth $20 or almost 1k peso in the US. I have loaned money, no interest to some of my GF's family 10k max with a promise for payback in a reasonable amount of time. I was payed back.
First, those four drinks scared me. Now, I had a bad habit of loaning money to employees. Not that I got burned, but I had them come in when I didn't really need them. Two could have handled the dinner service, but I would always pull someone who had hours to burn. There is just one who I loaned to because she always pays me back. She's a single mom working two jobs and was one of my better employees.
For me, it is something I like to avoid, especially with family members. Doesn't matter which side of the family it is. It can become a problem. Obviously, when there are serious emergencies, what can you do? The only time I loaned money was when my sister-in-law's roof blew off. It was 40k pesos at the time and she paid it back within three months.
My Dad's loan policy to anyone throughout his life was .... ok , I'll loan you this X amount and you will never get another penny out of me until you pay that loan back entirely .... I can still hear him arguing over the phone with someone who was trying to get a 2nd loan and I was laughing because I knew he wouldn't budge until the 1st loan was paid off .
One of our neighbours asked my wife to loan money and we barely know her and she has a sari sari store, my wife is pregnant and not working and we just moved in and need to complete the house still and took out a loan to buy the property in the first place, my wife told her we don't have the money she don't have a job right now and the woman got annoyed at her and stopped talking to her 😡😱 won't be buying anything at her store again. Told my wife stay away from her
@expatguideph Yea they get angry and annoyed like you owe them something 🤷♂️🙄 I think it don't help that I'm a foreigner 😬😂 they assume all foreigner are rich, maybe that was a reason she thought my wife is lying or something, I don't know but either way that's not a nice person and told my wife I'm not a bank even if I had the money I wouldn't "loan" to anyone. I try to help locals where I can if I have money and require work or help with something or buying goods from them
Hi and good afternoon, I saw one of your guests. I believe it was Mia who has a foreigner boyfriend, I liked that she shared her blessings when she could. Mia seemed very authentic and generous 😇 let me know if she has a UA-cam channel with her partner or has PayPal account. I would love to share my blessings as well to them. Thank you!
I dunno who are u referring to, there’s no Mia in my guests, u can check out the girls UA-cam links in the description box. I have Maya ,the one in white who is married to a foreigner ,all of them are generous and kind hearted people. We all share our blessings to others, this channel is supporting an orphanage 😊
I tell this to people. What will happen if one day You the person who is giving money away one day end up in a financial bind??? who will come and help you out in case of a financial hardship?? all those people you gave money to will run away and hide often they will turn their back on you and be angry with you. That happened to my parents. Loaning money is the easiest way to make enemies, Loose friends, get seen like walking talking ATM machine.
@17:38: "I only let people borrow money if it is an emergency," Tell family and friends them that and you will have plenty of emergencies coming your way.. Verify each emergency that comes your way.
we have 1 or 2 of my wife's friends that do pay back. but most do not. she tells me some have debts going back 2 even 3 years who have never paid her back. so I would definitely see "loaning" a Filipina money is pretty much giving them money.
i am mixed filipino. but my mother told me not to send to philippines. but i really thought she would wait for me. 😂 nope after 3 years im out $20k and she married her pure filipino churchmate.😂🤣
If married to a Filipina, would create a fixed amount family emergency fund. Also, would make a whole family issue to approve borrowing from fund. That way the family and not me is involved in getting borrower to refill the fund so others can use it. If someone doesn’t pay back, sorry but no more money.
Nobody pays back. if they say can I have of course no one will give. that’s why they use the word borrow cause they will give. Expecting to be pay back but they wont.. as for me I always pay back cause I know the feeling of people borrowing from me never return and if I want to borrow again they have my trust of me paying back.
Maya, I wasn't flirting, I was being polite. Gio, Maya, I found you chatting and flirting with one of your guy subscriber. Maya, Gio says he's not interesting in continuing our marriage. Maya, No chemistry, No commitment, No cash. This all comes down to a little Filipina girl's dreams of being rich, having more money than she can spend in a lifetime living in her own home in the mountains, traveling the world with a man close to her age or younger, giving her another child she desperately wants. Gio was just another stepping stone on her road to becoming rich. Nothing more, Nothing less.
hey there Leonard, sorry to hear that its your idea of Filipina's dreams which is true to some Filipinas of course but if Maya wanted to get rich, she could have chosen an old wealthy man to marry, why Gio? What stepping stone are you talking about, how can it helped her to be married to find another old rich man after? why go through all the heartache of stepping stone if she could easily fly up high to become a rich Queen if she wanted to? and why all these judgments without knowing the real person?
Ideally spoken...no to loans, unless I have legal recourse for repayment. Gifting is different, as it's an act of kindness, without repayment. Whoa...Leah, you have now become a magician. One minute all of you are conversing, the next minute, drinks appear in front of all of you! What skill you have...lol. Best wishes.
By refusing to lend the money you actually helping your family. They'll be forced to move their ass and find a job to earn their own living , so you helping them for their own good and their own future. We all have to try hard survive. Money doesn't grow on the trees!
Someone comes for a Loan I give them a job instead. I only hire girls they can always figure out a way to pay me back in one way or another. Wash my laundry, Cook my meals, clean my house, cut my hair, give me massage. Help me run errands, Many ways to pay back the loan.
Dear ladies, what would you do if your sister's partner is spending money on cokfighting bets instead of taking care oh her? Would you let him borrow money through your sister?
I’ve noticed that the average Filipino was never taught fiscal responsibility, has no understanding of money management, and the society tolerated this habit
I was seeing a pinay and she asked me for a loan of money, I replied to her that i don't know where you live , Your Facebook is a locked profile and you haven't friend requested me or accepted mine , I do not know even where you work either .... She never asked again & the relationship didn't last long after this
Maya commented that no one taught her how to manage money? 💴 How quickly they forget who helped them like Gio! Unbelievable, remember Karma does exist 😊
Hi Sam, I believe she’s talking about her past before Gio comes into her life ,especially during her younger years. What does karma has to do with her who learned about saving and management of money? I think that skills served her well ,she’s independent and can survive on her own. A lot of women out there are dependent on their man financially, well not her. Is that bad? Is that karma ?
Question for you lovely ladies, how come it is mainly the women of the home who do such with giving monies to family members and friends, I have not as yet seen a video on Philippine men doing these videos.. It feels to me the women of the Philippines is the backbone in family life. Regarding anyone asking for money, I just reply OH NO, I was just about to call you and ask the same, i am in desperate needs for some..🤣
My wife helped Parents with alowance first (Oldest daugther), later it was her younger brothers turn to shoulder it. It worked fine. (all 3 work and live in Europe)
I'll keep saying this until it registers: The answer is NO! Hell NO! F word NO! Absolutely NOT! CLOSE YOUR WALLET!!! DO NOT GET INVOLVED!!! STOP IT NOW!!! I FORBID YOU!!! 🍻
What I hate about the Philippines the most is that I cannot own property. If a Filipino comes to the U.S., they can buy land and property. Philippine government thinks always like the beggars that you must always just give money e.g. even though I pay for the land, I have to give it to a Filipina or if I want a business, I have to give 60% to a Filipino. FT the world is a big place. I am thinking now about Ghana or Vietnam.
hey there Herman, you can own buildings but not lands, there are legal ways to do to protect your asset if you wanted to make a corporation, gotta consult a good lawyer for that
Western women also have a problem managing money that’s why so many American men are choosing to stay single 🇺🇸 filipino women are nurturing, kind, caring women don’t let people take advantage of your kindness from my experience is they only come around when they want something 🤔 💐
Thanks for sharing your experience! It's important to set boundaries.
Indeed. Or you can just ask to "Borrow" the 🙀! You'll give it back when you're done! 🤣😜🤣!
Just say NO. Because most Filipinos don't pay back. I've experienced this 🤔🤨
This is not a Philippines problem…I’m from the US and have yet to have my family members payback loans. Don’t loan unless you’re a bank .
Not only that, once you either loan them money or give them money, they will continue to ask you again and again. Once you finally wise up and say no, they will get mad and demand an explanation.
@@jasonclark7049 Phillipines takes it to a whole new level.
💯I’ve not had one repay. It’s a huge character flaw with Filipinos

The way I see it is, if i cant afford to give that money away, im not going to lend any money.

These ladies are very classy! They have kind hearts but are smart about letting people take advantage of them!
Try to not get yourself into this situation. If you see the request coming your way, ask them for money first.
I think some Filipino will say they want to "borrow" money. What they really mean is will you "give" me money.

There should be a sign at arrival exits of Philippine airports that says “please do not feed the animals”…..same as you would see in a national park…
So you're saying that Filipinos are animals?

I tell them "I earn it, I burn it" then advise them to get a job or go and ask their bank
If you are ready to give it, forget it, do it. But never except money comes back
So check what you get for the money
I'm stingy with the pesos I say "no not for you"

By refusing to lend the money you actually helping your family. They'll be forced to move their ass and find a job to earn their own living , so you helping them for their own good and their own future. We all have to try hard survive. Money doesn't grow on the trees!
so agree with you Dalibor, thanks for being here
Someone comes for a Loan I give them a job instead. I only hire girls they can always figure out a way to pay me back in one way or another. Wash my laundry, Cook my meals, clean my house, cut my hair, give me massage. Help me run errands, Many ways to pay back the loan.
smart strategy
No money. I m not marring all family. Just one person and be responsible your wife’s.
Dear ladies, what would you do if your sister's partner is spending money on cokfighting bets instead of taking care oh her? Would you let him borrow money through your sister?
definitely not gonna support that Jean, especially when its being spent on gambling
I’ve noticed that the average Filipino was never taught fiscal responsibility, has no understanding of money management, and the society tolerated this habit
agree with you on this
I was seeing a pinay and she asked me for a loan of money, I replied to her that i don't know where you live , Your Facebook is a locked profile and you haven't friend requested me or accepted mine , I do not know even where you work either .... She never asked again & the relationship didn't last long after this
oh you were seeing her yet you dont have her social media? You met her in person? Yep, some do that sadly
Fascinating discussion, and educational too.
Thanks Paul ☺️
Maya commented that no one taught her how to manage money? 💴 How quickly they forget who helped them like Gio! Unbelievable, remember Karma does exist 😊
Hi Sam, I believe she’s talking about her past before Gio comes into her life ,especially during her younger years. What does karma has to do with her who learned about saving and management of money? I think that skills served her well ,she’s independent and can survive on her own. A lot of women out there are dependent on their man financially, well not her. Is that bad? Is that karma ?
The last foreign loan shark was kidnapped and thrown into the sea.
Borrow is just a synonym for charity. Don't fall for it.
In romantic relationships, a loan doesn’t exist in the Philippines, it’s always a gift-end of story!
You say hell no.
People do not want to be a floor mat that people think they can just walk on whenever they want.
Yes exactly 😊
Question for you lovely ladies, how come it is mainly the women of the home who do such with giving monies to family members and friends, I have not as yet seen a video on Philippine men doing these videos.. It feels to me the women of the Philippines is the backbone in family life. Regarding anyone asking for money, I just reply OH NO, I was just about to call you and ask the same, i am in desperate needs for some..🤣
My wife helped Parents with alowance first (Oldest daugther), later it was her younger brothers turn to shoulder it. It worked fine. (all 3 work and live in Europe)
hey Jonathan, there are Filipino men too that are helping their families. Just maybe there are more Filipina vloggers.
IF -- I had enough $ to loan people - I would open a bank !
No to loans.
Occasionally I will gift some money.
😍😍😍😍😍😍
as the saying goes Never a lender or bower be
I'll keep saying this until it registers:
The answer is NO!
Hell NO!
F word NO!
Absolutely NOT!
CLOSE YOUR WALLET!!!
DO NOT GET INVOLVED!!!
STOP IT NOW!!!
I FORBID YOU!!!
🍻
Borrow means I'll pay you back. Don't hold your breath on that.
Hello ladies ❤
What I hate about the Philippines the most is that I cannot own property. If a Filipino comes to the U.S., they can buy land and property. Philippine government thinks always like the beggars that you must always just give money e.g. even though I pay for the land, I have to give it to a Filipina or if I want a business, I have to give 60% to a Filipino. FT the world is a big place. I am thinking now about Ghana or Vietnam.
hey there Herman, you can own buildings but not lands, there are legal ways to do to protect your asset if you wanted to make a corporation, gotta consult a good lawyer for that
The answer is no....
I’m not a bank to land forget about these thief’s.
Vietnam 🇻🇳
LOL! I say, "No baby."
NOPE, NO, NEVER
Western women also have a problem managing money that’s why so many American men are choosing to stay single 🇺🇸 filipino women are nurturing, kind, caring women don’t let people take advantage of your kindness from my experience is they only come around when they want something 🤔 💐
They should give me. They never will pay it back haha. Men use wisdom.
