I bought a '22 Corolla Hybrid LE last Friday. It's supposed to be delivered this Thursday through Saturday. I'm so excited and can't wait to get it. Love your videos! My wife is getting a Highlander Hybrid this summer.

@@nickpgr10 I live in Ohio. I bought mine and only waited a week until it was delivered. However the dealership had it listed for sale for a month. Mine cost $25,589 and I paid MSRP but not over.

I used to have two 5 speed Corollas. Now I am kind of obsessed, when it comes to this one. As soon as I save enough, it’s gonna be this one. Probably my last one, as I am retired and these cars “last forever”.
Corolla SE is an economical and ultra reliable car. The manual transmission is awesome and eliminates boredom. Back before COVID-19, you could get these for $21-22k out the door, including tax and everything.
They are close to $30,000 now in California.🤑🤑

That electronic parking brake will be a lifesaver. One time I forgot to leave my manual in gear and it rolled out of my garage, down my driveway and out into the street. Luckily it didn't hit anything and I was just embarrassed with all the onlookers. 😂

Had an 83 Blue Toyota Celica GT (RWD) 5spd manual. Was one of the best sticks I have ever owned and I have had a few cars with sticks in the past (Mustang, Camaro). This Corolla model is definitely a much nicer one than my 99! Loving the style and colour. Thanks for the great review!

Those 1980s Toyotas were indestructible cars, and that model from 1983 you had was very fun to drive being rear wheel drive with the stick. Toyotas today aren't quite as good as they were from a reliability and cost to repair angle but still better than most cars now.

I prefer the SE HATCHBACK. It reminds me of my 5 spd. Manual 1985 CRX except it has twice the power and 2 extra doors. Make mine in windchill white with 6spd manual with blind spot warning system.😁
My dad almost got a 2021 SE 6MT in Blue Crush, but decided that getting optional Blind Spot Monitoring on the SE CVT (not available on 6MT), plus the better fuel mileage, led him to get the CVT instead.
You can't get blind spot warning system on a 2022 Corolla SE hatchback 6spd. manual?🤔

The 2022 Corolla in Australia have only auto CVT Which is sad.
Now it's global. You cannot get a 6 speed manual. Only trouble prone CVT.🤑🤑🤢🤮

These are going to shoot up in value/hold value even more now that Toyota is getting rid of manual transmissions in the Corolla. Glad I managed to get my black SE. Getting it end of the month! Luckily I managed to feel the shifter action of this transmission on another car prior and I can confirm it is a VERY nice manual box. iMT will be helpful if my wife needs to drive the car.

Where have you heard that Toyota is dropping the manual transmission in the Corolla in the USA?
@@watershed44 It's the most current info now. In fact they have cut production now in 2022 models. For 2023 no more manuals for Corollas.🤢🤮

The 2022 Toyota Corolla SE can be a real gas guzzler if you don't drive it conservatively. Even during the summer months, you can end up with only 26 MPG on some trips. It may be hard to believe, but this car has more power than a 1970 small block 350 Chevy V8 Impala. And even a '73 Chevelle Malibu may have a difficult time keeping up with it. Either way, it will be a close match!
You sure about that? Can the Corolla outrun a 1970 350 base Corvette?
@@microminiskirt The difference is in the weight, and gearing. The Corvette will definitely smoke the Corolla SE, no question about that due to its considerably higher horsepower rating and lighter weight, along with the lower profile. The Corvette is obviously faster than the Impala, no question there. Body style, body weight, transmission gearing, and the overall power to weight ratio make a huge difference.
@@cnnw3929 But remember the horsepower ratings in those days were gross ratings which are misleading to today's net standards. I remember most if not all American V8 cars back in the day got 10 MPG freeway or city even if you drove it conservatively so driving this new Corolla and getting the lower mileage twenty something plus is still better than back then as well as the performance of these new 4 cylinder cars outperforming the old V8 cars back then at least certain V8 cars.
@@microminiskirt That's pretty much it. The technology is so far ahead of cars made in the late '60s and early '70s. Keep in mind that 26 miles per gallon usually occurs during colder months because the air has more oxygen, and causes the engine to run more rich, causing it to use more fuel. During summer months on long trips, you can get as much as 40 miles per gallon or more on the Corolla!
@@cnnw3929 So this is the reason why I get better MPG in the afternoon than the early hours of darkness say 4AM vs. 11 AM?

A couple of months ago I bought a 2020 Certified Corolla SE with the 6 spd MT, and in the Blue Crush. It had 27k miles, and I actually paid 27k for it. Yes, I knew it was a bit overpriced, but this car is so much fun to drive!!!! I know it will be reliable, and I didn't want to wait and see if I could get a new one. Yes, it sucks to not have a CD player. I've yet to figure out how to get Sirius. Guess that will come later as my Corolla is in storage for the winter...as I drive my 🌮. Nice review Jeff!!!!!
I bought mine in late 2019 for 20,800. Right before the pandemic hit.
How come, it doesn’t have a CD player? There is a slim slot, that you may not even noticed. There is a CD player.

You guys are so mis informed here. Bigger informant screen and sadly no manual 6 speed transmission. That's a deal breaker. You are stuck with trouble prone CVT transmission as only transmission available.🤑🤢🤮🤮

You can't get a manual anymore. Toyota stopped the manuals on all Corollas across the board.
