There are many defining moments in Glassman boppers history but this is arguably the biggest podcast in its history. Teddy Swims is a tenth of the star he will be and Rick got the first podcast he’s been on of note. This is absolute magic. I feel like I took “ownership” of this podcast and now it’s exploding!
This was just incredible. As a 50-year old metalhead & old school punk...I was brought to tears more than once, in this episode. Really brilliant stuff, guys...purely phenomenal.
Any time George is on the pod, I end up in tears bcuz his voice and guitar playing are just SO beautiful and moving!!! This was simply wonderful. 🎶🎸🎤🎵🎼❤️🥲
They’d both probably would. Harry met Teddy at Lowlands and they talked for a while. Harry talked about it on his Festival recap episode of his podcast.
Goddamn how many times you gonna make me cry in one podcast? Teddy's amazing got to see him in Sydney, but jeez George is incredible! Great job Rick. Really great job.
I don’t typically write comments. This podcast episode was really special. Rick, your artistry with podcasting is unparalleled. You took a genre of entertainment that wasn’t inherently creative and turned into a new form of art.
Growing up a musician in Mississippi, I played with so many people with talent close to Teddy’s. Listening to this episode, I’m picking up that he has such a similar personality to them as well. Not knowing keys, not knowing chords, but very quick to give praise and a big laugher, with a crazy skill and jovial demeanor. Tbh I’d never heard him before this episode, but I’m an instant fan bc I love the dude. I know this dude.
Rick this gentleman is the most grateful guest to be on your show. He really gets the opportunity you provide on your unique platform. Extremely entertaining show Rick. TY. P. S tiny deskless concert.
to me, one of the reasons your podcast is so solid is that while its overtly a natural conversation, its also subtly a flowing therapy session, for I assume ya'll on the show, but also us as viewers. Thanks.
Thank you for this Rick. I lost my mom in June and she absolutely loved every one of the songs you played here. Cried the whole time, but it helped. Thank you ❤️
I found out this morning that my dad has cancer. I don't really have a relationship with him and was having a hard time processing. That rendition of "I don't want to grow old" helped. I hadn't cried in awhile. Absolutely beautiful.
5 years ago I blew up everyone I knew texting UA-cam video link "Rivers" by the then not so known Teddy Swims. I am so damn proud of now how many people play, share and love this breath of fresh air singer Teddy Swims' God Bless you and all the broken roads you've had to cross to get here!! Love this artist' with an enthusiasm 🎉
I absolutely love this!!! Favorite performance was lose control and old highway 9. Loved hearing it again! Great to see George! Teddy Swims is a given of course, thank you for having him on. He’s so great! ❤
I'm wondering now not if I'll watch this again but how many times! Teddy geeking on Rick, the music, a totally new artist to dive into, and he's Ricks neighbor. Top notch.
George covering You Call Me Al from the Adam Ray/Brent Morin episode (where he was a balcony curtain peel prize reveal) is still my favourite version of that song
Saw the tiktok, made a comment, came to the full show. Knew Teddy Swims before, didn't know George Krikes. Big fans of both now. I was in Rick's shoes the whole time. Just in awe of the musical talent.
I’ve listened to this twice on Spotify since yesterday. I think this is my favorite TYSO episode ever. George needs to record that Waits song, that cover crushed me.
I've never had the pleasure to hear of Teddy Swims until today. I'm now a fan. Thanks a lot to George for making me cry with his lovely musical talent and thanks to Rick for bringing everyone together.
Rick, you make Tuesday/Wednesday/sometimes Thursday (thanks UA-cam) something to look forward to. I hope you never stop making the magic that is TYSO. Time to bust out the shmee and do my daily maintenance!
This was my favorite podcast episode I've ever watched. If I count sing I would always be jamming with my friends like this. I need a podcast just of this. It made my heart so happy.
Speaking about hearing songs, Teddy's cover of I can't make you love me changed my whole perspective of that song, heard it when he first released it and I knew he'd be massive, never could have predicted his success! Great guy, great pod, great job curating this Rick!
This is the most charming Rick has ever been. I listened to the whole thing and now I’m watching and it’s pure sweetness, all of them, and George is truly incredible
That is the best episode of any podcast I’ve ever watched. My top 3 would all be TYSO episodes but that was in a league of its own. Well played Rick 👏👏👏
Great, great job. I had chills so many times in this episode. Thanks to all of you for an amazing, beautiful listen! Thanks Rick these 2 guys were such a treat
I watch alot of podcast and other shows and stuff and this episode is by far one of my favorites! I love watching musicians just chill and vibe!!! Nothing like it!
This was an incredibly sweet episode! George is massively talented, Teddy is as genuine as they come, and of course, we are here for the funny & talented Rick Glassman!
I squealed in excitement! Worth the wait 😊 This may be an episode I can finally get my mom to watch with me 😂 that genuinely makes me happy to share TYSO with her
Thank you for coming to the DC improv last night Rick! It was the greatest show in the history of all shows of all time! 10 out of 10 in my book. It was an honor to meet you :) I got a double fist bump!!👊 👊🥳
Absolutely LOVED this episode @rickglassman! The chemistry between you two was so second nature, then George came in and started playing with Teddy it's like they instantly were on the same wavelength and Teddy being such a genuine sweet and likeable guy just, I can't get enough of this Rick. Keep it up you're killin it!
Watched on patreon this morning. Cried while cooking bacon at 1:21:44. Came back for another watch after work. Unbelievably cool episode, I feel like I owe someone money.
The song "loose control" has kept me alive. I struggle with drugs and alcohol, and I'm an addict. Sometimes the only time I can feel is when I hear that song. I don't have insurance I'm trying to get a grant to go to rehab and hopefully this week I will find out if I get it. Music like Teddy swims, and podcasts like TYSO are the only thing that can tame the demons in my head sometimes. No matter what happens I'm grateful for these moments of peace through this storm. Keep doing pods like this Rick. It does more for people than you know.
i love when rick has musicians on. something about the format hits different than other live performances. maybe the interview and banter brings everything down to earth, maybe it's the vibes, maybe it's the collaboration. i don't know but it's great. shoutout to teddy wender.
This is the Best Episode Ever. Thank you for this beautiful episode, full of bits, and such beautiful music! Teddy is amazing, and this is my first time hearing him, so thank you for that! I also got my weekly, "Are you crying?" from my wife. I want to be in ya'lls band soooo bad!

Sooo many good tears on this ep, on both sides of the lense. Thank you Rick for all the vulnerability
My Dad loved Teddy Swims so much. He passed away in July. I really wish I could show him this episode.
I’m so sorry for your loss
I'm sorry for your loss. Been 15 years since my dad passed away. It only hurts because of all the love

❤️ Teddy, he should have given more props to 🎶 FreakFreely404. 🎶 when talking about bands!
George Krikes, what a gem and talent! I was honored to play alongside him in highschool jazz band.
Me too! (Hi Jacob) And that we're still following him 20 years later tells you a lot!
Omg this was absolutely fantastic.
We definitely need a long podcast with George Krikes, my god he is so talented.
