Arnold revealed some things about the script he shouldn't have here...the Sharon stone character was "fake" and the Mars love interest was "real". We weren't supposed to know what was real or fake. Or maybe Arnold didn't quite understand the script and what Verhoeven was trying to do with the ambiguity.

Actually, when Arnold described the scene where Rachel slaps him, he got the sequence of events wrong. In the movie, she slaps him as soon as they are in private together, BEFORE he really says anything of substance to her, and then she kisses him. THEN he tries to explain to her about his erased memory, etc. but she does not buy it and she walks out of the room.
