Hello, I would like to improve upon this diy project. However, you did not provide any details on where to download your stm32 code that makes this possible. Could you open it up to be Creative Commons? Thanks in advance.
see I love this because I feel like there is already full body immersion just not open to the public, if more people just start implementing already capable technology then we will have hobbiest with the best gear made from home.
Hold on for a minute... How did his pc recognize a simple motion controller as a oculus rift headset?? Another thing that i noticed... How could he move the headset so far to the right, left, up, and down with such a little composite cable??
I already have a htc vive but my brother wants a vr headset too (he planned to buy one in a year or two) but i‘ll build this for him until he has his own headset so yeah👍🏻👌🏻 thanks for the tutorial (like a few years ago i didnt have a headset and i didnt want to spend that much money on one so i looked for tutorials on yt but didn‘t found one really good but now where i have the htc vive i found this)
i really love this, but could u somehow make controllers for it, that not only can rotate but when your hand moves the controller in the game moves, and to also add buttons or is there a way you can add a camera to track your hands and use keyboard as a way to move around in game
i saw a work, work done with a good credit, great work man, you deserve a credit, I would appreciate if you are capable of doing this combining rasberry pi
Yo I'm a pro virtual reality gamer What had set? That one The valve index! No the one behind it Sees the showcase one with a pldate and a glue stick ....
@@christianmccauley7340 the Google cardboard doesn't have a gyroscope, it expects your phone to have a gyroscope. You would just need the gyroscope and all the components of the cardboard and create this more simply

Well i‘m going to build it anyway sooo yeah i‘m going to try it out and edit this comment if it really worked (in like 1 to 2 weeks cuz i dont have enough money yet🤣)
"hey whats your favorite vr headset"
"the bowl one"
"the one with the gluestick on top?"
"yeah that's the one"
its a plate, but still yeah thats the one
Instead of a bowl we should have plate, oh that’s gonna balance really good!

How?
I wonder if this guy tried fallout 4 VR with this thing.
i love how you took the time to destroy the CDs when you coulda just threw them away lol.
Cool project, I would make one if I could.
why did he destroy those perfectly fine games
Could have sold them and made money lol

With the right Chinese electronics you could make a headset rivaling the oculus rift at a fraction of the price

perfect guide, just built one! cant wait to see what the future of vr brings, this is incredible!!!
How do you actually build one? I’m a tinkerer and seems like a fun task
it's awesome, but I wouldn't use a ceramic plate, I would just use a head strap from some goggles
Oculus plate 2 now in your local Wal-Mart! ($399.99)
If I walked into a room and saw someone wearing this I would run out of the room and call to report aliens taking over. Cool build though
my god... a composite display in vr...

I Found this video as a DIY much more simpler and easier and more detailed than alot of others. Btw where did you get thoose lenses?
I’m guessing out of a cheap phone vr headset

ur amazing, the headset looks like a cyberman helmet, you solder the gluestick, you destroy xbox games, and more
What about the
controllers that you need to operate the Oculus Rift games?
ROXAL m2 buy them i guess?🤔 or use wii motes?🤣
this pretty much the dev version from 2013, no positional tracking. There are no controllers for the games this works with.
To be honest you should be able to make some urself. I recently saw a guy create his own VR gloves with full hand tracking

how your gyrascope was recognized on Oculus?
The first part
He bpught the oculus one
Or idk
I have a few questions:
1. So this won’t work with VR CHAT
2. Where’s your hand sensors?
1. It could if You know what You are doing
2. DK1 and DK2 don't have hand sensors
I'm a year late, but you can use 3DOF in VRChat. It's not very different from flat but it's way more immersive.
What code did you use for the Arduino?
Its not an arduino
Couldn't find blue tape will it still work?
no sorry only works with blue tape

Can you upload the full wiring of all of the boards together?
only need the wire for mpu 6000 to arduino.
