The RNZAF had some 22 Squadrons conducting operations against the Japanese in the South Pacific area, in addition to seven “NZ” squadrons of the RAF and around an additional 7,000 men serving with the RAF.

There is some stories of escape and evasion from some of these guys getting hit and having to bail,not good if you were caught, could mean execution,or pow camp the odds were not good of surviving,...
