June 5th, 2017 -- For my 64th outing of the year, I finally found some decent weather down in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea for a proper fishing session on the pier!!!
I decided to use my 3 hours of availability (recall: this was my 2nd year wedding anniversary trip with my wife) to fish for exotic reef Species on Anglin's Pier! :)

my favorite one was the bluehead wrasse, and congrats on catching 1000 fish
When I was a 8 year old. I sold. All these fish to a dealer. That sold them to fish tank stores and. In 1976 I got 40 bucks for a tiny saw fish that went to Baltimore sea aquarium , thanks so much for bringing back fond child hood memories!
I really liked how you showed the knots you use. I'm learning a few knots like palomar and uni knot but I always like to see how other people do things and see if it applies to me. Thank you!!

wow the knot you use to tie your hook on is the same knot I use sometimes and I thought it was so weird. And you probably already knew you had to respool your reel, but just in case you forgot, respool your reel !

If you go to Panama City FL you can catch Spanish mackerel , King Mackerel, Doldine fish, sail fish, tarpon, stingrays, manta rays, and red fish
I really never thought about micro fishing, especially in salt water. I always try for the big fish, but it seems more fun micro fishing as you seem to catch more fish in general. I have had a lot of success with the banjo minnow and always keep a few and a pole with me in my truck if I see a spot to fish. Usually I will get a 1lb bass and not a lot of action other than that. I think I will try more micro fishing as I just want to catch fish, not just big fish.
This is right beside my house. Currently only half the pier is open now but going to try it out this week!

Great day of fishing. Love that blue headed wrasse. Looks like you need some line on that Sedona. When you caught the sand perch it seemed you almost spooled yourself when casting.

The pier at port Isabel, Tx, is a lure and sinker graveyard. But i remember catching some fantastic fish.
I'll be there July 1-8 and will basically live on that pier. You should come back and we could do a challenge or try to shark fish or something crazy.
Anglin's Pier is definitely recommended, TheOutdoorsDuo. And the intracoastal waterway as well. And the Hillsboro Inlet. And everywhere else around there! Hah. looks to be an Atlantic blue tang:) I had one on my 80 gallon reef for a long time, very pretty fish
The one in the video was actually a Doctorfish Tang _(Acanthurus chirurgus)._ The one you are talking about is the _Acanthurus coeruleus._ I don't have that one on my Species list yet, Ozard Outdoors. hey Leo have you fished the everglades yet or OkeeChobee? Supposedly they have 15-20 pound Largemouths in there easily! In NJ a 5 lb Largemouth is considered big - in Florida thats a baby LOL

I catch schools of those bluehead wrasses down here in Florida while snorkeling. You just scare some sergeant majors off their nest and scoop all the wrasses that swarm the eggs. Simple and easy
