2:13 Now that you mention it an android growing out their hair is actually something I overlooked when playing through the game, thats actually a good question lol
@Rogue1king like I know she first started with short hair. So like they can grow their hair organically like actual humans, too? Or was that like a stylish character design, and they didn't think much of it when making the game
@@Kimisdomain01 I vaguely remember reading a topic where someone talked about the function of yorha androids being created in the image of humanity as close possible by giving them certain qualities a kin to how humans once was and even the small detail of growing hair was replicated as part of that. But yeah it could always just boil down to something like 'it just looks cool' which is possible, Throughout the game she has long hair, but I think there was a dlc item that lets you use 2b hairstyle for A2
I loved the reunion of A2 and Lily! In the game Lily is dead it is Nemona the survivor who is the leader and she is an acquaintance with A2 only. Devola and Popola are of the game Nier Replicant they were create when the humanity was life still. The little red girls are the virus, you can to say the little girls are the conscience of the bad machines.
@user-fp3in2kf3b I figured as much if she was the first Yorha and B2 and 9S going forward were the newer models with the assisted help. A2 and her crew were done dirty🥲
To better understand A2, one must remember she deleted both bad memories AND good memories from her initial mission. Which explains her never joining up with other resistance members to form a new family. That, and the fact that YoRHa repeatedly sent pursuit androids and not even regular androids could be trusted not to be consorting with Command.
Devola & Popola shouldn't be confused with Yotsuba & Futaba and the Red Girls. Devola & Popola: the rare Medical/Maintenance models in the Resistance. We don't know much about them besides their "atonement" and their appearance in Emil's memories, which hints that they're much older models, existing even before the time of Automata. Their backstory will be revealed later. Yotsuba & Futaba: they are only shown in A2's backstory. They were predecessors of the O (operator) models and took part in the Pearl Harbor Descent mission, similar to A2 as the predecessor of E model. Due to the stress of the mission, they had to have their memories erased regularly. They were ultimately decommissioned later by the commander and sent to Earth. Their current fate is unknown. Red Girls: the personification of the Machine Lifeform network.
@@thevoyagerv4499 They may be the standard models in the Resistance recruited to operate in YoRHa, just like Commander White (and Black in YoRHa Boys), as they actually have names. However, since the O models effectively replace their position, they may also be the prototype YoRHa models. Their origin doesn't matter much; they were only mentioned in the A2 backstory and never brought up again.
@HealRD Agreed. Also in the final volume of the manga, it's shown theres actually more operators on the bunker. They all look like yotsuba and futaba, except they're not twins. Its quite interesting
0:31 The Commander is not a Yorha android as she does not possess a black box. She actually comes from the resistance and was actually appointed as commander of Yorha (who appointed her is unknown) I won't go too much into it without spoiling. Devola and Popola are a type of android that was previously used in a big project 2000 years before the Aliens even attacked (yes they are very old, about 9000 years as of Automata). They cannot cope without each other as they are programmed to be a pair. That project failed, most of them were destroyed, and as punishment these two were kept around.
Something I can say about A2 is that because of her achievements in surviving, all E models were built from her data. 2B in particular was created in the image of A2 herself, something that in some novels shows the discomfort that A2 feels when seeing 2B. Another important detail that is only said in the novels is that A2 and 2B have already met in the past and faced each other and the victory ended up going to A2 (even though she is an older model, all her experience counts towards being a better combatant) but the data 2B's memories of past confrontations have been erased. A2 still remembers 2B but in the forest scene he chose not to attack her because he felt something different in her behavior due to 2B's relationship with 9S which shows that A2 had been watching them since they stepped into the castle. A2 is a character that represents humanity since in the game we are sometimes presented with some choices when we are controlling A2, something that does not happen with the other characters. Difficult choices to the point where one wonders what would be more humane to do and that is why we choose it. A2 is empathetic it's part of her personality she chooses to help others or even save lives based on what she feels and not because she was ordered to do so. The whole issue of her wanting to destroy all the machines is just due to the lack of a real purpose for living. A2 knows that this will lead to nothing and that she is fighting for nothing but for her the thought of stopping negates the entire purpose of her sisters' existence A2 would be invalidating all the sacrifice they made if she stopped. But as you can see in the episode, she is already questioning whether this is right because she is capable of changing her mind but it is difficult because she still carries the weight of her sisters' lives. At many points in the story A2 shows more humanity than humans themselves she is able to show compassion, empathy, sympathy and generosity but she also goes through so many negative aspects such as pain, depression, anger, guilt and the ironic part of all this is that all characters in Nier Automata seek to be human in a certain way but A2 the one who most resembles one is the only one who doesn't seek that, she is just like that.
@jlj9592 No, I have to manually update my ps4, which I've been putting on the backburner for a few weeks now😭. I'll probably first check out story mode and possible gameplay from others. I have been interested in playing for a long time since like 2018 but have never got to buying the game yet
The switch of protagonist from 2B to A2 was very seemless. It does show that this war has been artificially repeated for years. In some ways, the story is better than The Matrix Trilogy.
@Phantom_Izuku I'm glad they introduced A2 in the prologue. So when the transition of MC went from 2B to her, it didn't feel jarring, to say the least.
