My mother used to do Saturday morning cleaning to The Bee Gees on vinyl, She would grab me and my brother out of our bean bag chairs and start swinging us around…before long I realized that’s what got me hooked on music and dancing!…Shout out Mom!
The Foo Fighters did a Bee Gees cover album a free years ago as the Dee Gees. All the songs are good, but their Version of You Should Be Dancing was spot on. Check it out.
I can remember this tune as though it were yesterday. It was during the disco era. It was an era where, you were just overwhelmed with great music. Man, we had fun boy! Goodness!
I never cared when the Bee Gees went disco. But now at 64, I really love their music switch! Perhaps it brings back my younger days! Great reaction as always, Ashley!
Ashley I adore you and love your reaction videos! You have an amazing personality! Love Bee Gees! 55 yr old woman. I'm reliving my childhood!! Thank you
I just love watching First Time Bee Gees reactions. To be honest, they aren't my first pick in genre. I'm more of an 80s post punk new wave industrialist. But it's just so much fun seeing people react to hearing the brothers for the first time. Raw talent. Sent by God.
Love your reaction and the song! Girl this is skating music. You are right they never disappoint! Thank you so much for keeping our Bee Gees alive!!❤️🎼🎤🎼❤️
I was a kid when Beegees were dominating the top 10. Love this and so many of their late 70s songs. And, haha your reaction to the commercial interruption too :) love your reactions, thanks for doing these!
This song always touches me every time I hear it. When this song was played in the movie, I was transfixed to the point, it was just me and the screen.........
Can't wait for you to react to some of their 60's music and songs when they were 6 and 9. They are so amazing. And their 80's, 90's and 2000's. Plus their younger brother Andy Gibb. He's fantastic too.
I believe this was no 1 in both the UK and the US, it came out during the time of disco. love the Bee Gees. fun fact - saw on a documentary regarding this song that one time they were travelling on a bridge and heard the sound that it made, so they incorporated that sound into this song, its that background sound that starts in the beginning and throughout the song
Okay, I think you're ready for "Kool & The Gang" now :) .... They got some awesome songs from the 80's - like "Joanna", "Cherish", "Fresh", "Get Down On it" - and more ... I'm pretty sure you will enjoy ... Perhaps even on the skating rink :)
Roller Skating... i was lucky enough that when i was a little kid, my neighbors owned the Skating Rink in town (same era as this song), so i got to skate all the time. Those were great days. Not a care in the world.
Good choice. You need to check out their younger brother Andy Gibb, who also was very successful. His music was mainly written, produced and had all his brothers doing back up many times. I regret not taking the Bee Gees serious, but as I got older, I realized that they are just LEGENDS!
Appreciate anyone who admits they didn't take them seriously back in the day! Btw, Robin & Mo participated in writing just 3 of Andy's songs & only sang backup on DESIRE. But big bro Barry had a hand in much of the writing, harmony & backing vocals & co-producing with Albhy Galuten & Karl Richardson....or better known as Gibb-Galuten-Richardson Production team!🎶
Yes-- Barry was so very hands-on when it came to little brother Andy.@@kthor I adore Barry to the moon and back, and no one admires him more, BUT he took on the role of stage "father" to Andy's young apprentice. I think a bit too zealous-- out of love--and maybe because Robin and Mo had each other. Barry loved that Andy was his late twin? Barry had such a huge heart.
When Saturday Night Fever came out they were branded as a disco group. They actually only did a few disco songs, somewher under 10, I think is was 4 or 5 but don't really know
What a cool reaction. But man, now that you have established yourself as a skater, you really have to check out Cameo doing roller skates and I believe 1980s when it came out. And it and two or three other Bangerz off of that album got played at lots of underground mostly black parties in high school. But that roller skates one is completely about roller skates and I think it would be fascinating for you to get a glimpse into that scene as of 1980.
Thank you again for going down this rabbit hole. You should check out a couple of videos of them when they were kids. It's definitely a MUCH earlier era... and their style was clearly different. I'm not saying they were great songs. But it's an interesting dive into their history.
Hey Ashley. Fairly new sub here. I just wanted to add that I would love for you to check out, if you haven't heard them already in your own time or previously in passing ofcourse, "Best Friend ft. Yelawolf" and/or "No Love ft. lil Wayne" by Eminem. Both of those songs have my favorite Em verses, and Ive been really enjoying the vibe in your videos. Keep it up :)
I noticed you have never reacted to the great late Jimi Hendrix. Are you kidding? Also Santana. Please react to Hendrix Foxy Lady and Purple Haze, and Little Wing. Also Santana songs like Black Magic Woman and Evil Ways and No One To Depend On and Samba Pa Ti.. Incredible music from the 60s for Hendrix and 60s, 70s for Santana
My mother used to do Saturday morning cleaning to The Bee Gees on vinyl, She would grab me and my brother out of our bean bag chairs and start swinging us around…before long I realized that’s what got me hooked on music and dancing!…Shout out Mom!
DISCO ERA WAS AMAZING! I'm so glad this was my ERA!
I'm not going for that 'fake news' that Disco is dead.
You and me both! This Gen X truly do not know what they missed!
The Bee Gees "You Should Be Dancing" was another hot early disco classic.
The Foo Fighters did a Bee Gees cover album a free years ago as the Dee Gees. All the songs are good, but their Version of You Should Be Dancing was spot on. Check it out.
Stayed for 8 weeks at number one on the Billboard charts.
Such a talented trio i love their music👍👍😊😊
I can listen to this track several times on repeat at a time-- my senior citizen level warm -ups! I agree with you that they do NOT disappoint!
Or even better....the one hour loop tracks on YT with our guys' awesome tunes!🎶
Definitely skateable! 🛼 That's what we did back then. Disco ball turning🪩, lights down, mood up, dance skating our butts off. The Bee Gees were 🔥.
Awesome Bee Gees, a great Bee Gees R&B song you’ll enjoy is LOVE YOU INSIDE OUT. ❤❤❤
I can remember this tune as though it were yesterday. It was during the disco era. It was an era where, you were just overwhelmed with great music. Man, we had fun boy! Goodness!

Nights on Broadway you’ll lose your mind
The skating rink HAS to have a disco ball!!!!!!!

Ashley I adore you and love your reaction videos! You have an amazing personality! Love Bee Gees! 55 yr old woman. I'm reliving my childhood!! Thank you
You have down home energy, with humility. Such a pleasure to watch your clips.😊

... #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 8 weeks in 1978!!!!
4:22 you would have made the best DJ at the skating rink!!!
You have a beautiful soul mama !
They have more than a 1000 songs in their music portfolio. They started performing when they were 9 and 6 years old and have crossed many genres.
This song always touches me every time I hear it. When this song was played in the movie, I was transfixed to the point, it was just me and the screen.........
Bee Gees-alone
This is why I watch your channel! You get right into every song,so cool to see young people like you into the music from my young. Thx!
Can't wait for you to react to some of their 60's music and songs when they were 6 and 9. They are so amazing. And their 80's, 90's and 2000's.

The Bee Gees are always invited to the barbecue and the skatin' rink!😂

I believe you're thinking of Jive Talkin for the bridge sound!
meravigliosa from italy!!!
My friends and I would always be skating to this on a Friday night in the 70s. Puts a smile on my face remembering those fun nights
Lacing up my skates right now...

Theme song to the movie Saturday Night Fever, originally titled Night Fever, but producers thought it sounded like a porno title
👍
I love how Ashley pronounces their name (bee-GEEs...instead of BEE-gees). It just plain cute!
The perfect song
You should definitely do The Bee Gees "You Should Be Dancing".
