And that all he knows is cities are “cool” and that the future will bring houses and the concept of property ownership. Ok I’m coming from a bias that education (learning) in its broadest meaning is always good, and certainly this child is getting some kind of education, but he’s also missing out. Has anyone taught him to read? Math? Science?

Went there in June 2021 and December 2021. They say in the winter there are a ton of people but in June I saw way more than in December. December was great though,, June not so much. Almost got robbed just because I drive a nice looking truck and 5th wheeler. Glad I had my 120lbs german shepherd in my 5th wheel when I went to the Range. I also have an attack kitty :) But I was invited to the range just so the others in this group could try to rob me. Not cool.. I loved the free vibe though, just too many drug users for me to want to stay out there longer than a week or two.

No Laws!? It just shows what I often say. There is something much more powerful than the law and that is peer pressure.
The first laws were no more than a formalised statement of what the common wish of people considered to be what made the community work, and it was self-enforced by the people. It was only when 'leaders' arose and bent the laws to suit themselves that organised enforcement became necessary.
I love anarchy, the real sort, not the punk smash-the state-type. It is the only real form of democracy. If only we could get enough people to understand all this. That's my opinion anyway.

@Old Luke I'm not putting down what your perspective is... But in all honesty.. If you look at the millions of people working 10hour days, and in China over half the population are working 12+hour days 6 days a week.. To just survive..
And in our Western world middle class and upper-class families work and argue, fight over pathetic things.. And the "lowerclass" have benefits breadline life hanging over them paycheck to paycheck, while the homeless are seeking benefits while addicted to medications originally prescribed...
And a school system which is not teaching kids what REAL life is? Just systemising our youth, meaning the future generations are perpetuating and living the same issues... In a broken system, run by out of touch individuals, and groups with a know it all agenda, poisoning the food chain with chemicals... Processed crap, and dividing our countries through politics and religion.
So.. Has this kid really been born into poverty? Maybe his child hood is positively more peaceful than 80%+ of the worlds population...
It will become increasingly so rare in the future for a child to actually have a simple care free open air child hood.. Without the system sucking them up.
Maybe poverty is a perspective.. Maybe we are in poverty in our own way. Maybe the children crawling around in the slums of India. Or the sex slaves in slums and buildings at part of the world are the ones in poverty.
Peace brother:). Just a thought share for ya :)

      Cattle. :(.
      Im free, peace..
Forget all logic, and the world becomes beautiful... Pass platform 9 and 3 quarters hahaha that's just the silly divide world going on behind the scenes.
Times an illusion... The elites and "game players" need to help humanity by worshipping nature, not their patented hybrid stuff which they're trying to make everyone eat from birth.

Not all kids fit in to the one-size-fits-all education system, not all kids learn the same, and not all parents want their children trained like dogs so they can be well oiled cogs in the machine. From a few seconds of filming you've deduced that this child is not cared for or given attention and lacks pedigree (whatever that means)? Not sure you should be teaching any children with views like that, certainly wouldn't want you teaching my son, his dad didn't come with breeding certification to show his pedigree.

I had a family member who lived there for a year and a half. Murders occur pretty frequently despite the tiny population, mainly due to the fact that every other person is a junkie, or psychotic and off their meds. There aren't very many actual "anarchists" that live there, just a few that can tolerate it. Supposedly it wasn't super uncommon for junkies to take their kids with them there, and it always turns into a mess.

I saw a drunk fall into a fire and we all gave her betasone cream, bandages etc. that we had. Someone with a car even took her to a free clinic. I saw her a few days later and she smile and said I was really wasted but got a lot of help. I have a car and before I made my every three day trip to Walmart or to town I made it a point to ask others like Spider, Kas, MoJoe if they wanted to go with if I had room orgive me a list and money and I'll pick up anything for them. No one ever asked me for money, food yes, water, yes beer yes. David go there and experience the Slabs yourself. If you behave yourself, don't pick fights or intrude no one will harm you. @@BangkokJohn It's not that difficult to comprehend why the standard practice of using anonymous sources and - here's the most important part - KEEPING THEM ANONYMOUS exists. It's not some new thing invented by the democrats. It's necessary. For example, just imagine how many more names would be on the "Clinton Body Count" list if journalists and investigative branches outed their anonymous sources? The guy who leaked the Lynch/Clinton tarmac meeting would've made the cut! Also, Despite what Fox tells you both sides are equally guilty of engaging in the 2nd hand "Many people are saying" & "An extremely credible source has told me..." BS whenever it suits them. To imply otherwise is simply hypocritical. In fact, those are both direct quotes from Trump to back up unsubstantiated claims he made about the Left. Not for nothing, but he has yet to produce that "extremely credible" Kenyan birth certificate to this day, btw.
What I'm saying is, don't simply accept & regugitate everything you read or hear from right wing biased news sources. Like the biased news sources on the left, they're mainly pushing their own agenda/propaganda and selling it as news. An opinion or accusation doesn't magically become fact just because we may personally agree with it. Anyway, I get the idea that you genuinely care and you seem like a decent dude. So cheers! Live free and travel safe, brother.

Insane, She was planning to kill us and herself,My elder half sister stepped in to guard us, my mum then decided to take us on the road to avoid the police and Child welfare, ( my mother refused to let us attend school) and had a series of adventures, working in the Country show ( fairs) circuit , a Circus, and a Carnival, facing Death, ( meet serial killers twice and survived) the Police, and every kind of person , like Marcus Aurelius said "I have the tools I need for any situation so I live without fear", ( pretty close to that) what I found out I needed was a toilet and bathroom with running water, and a friend I could trust and sleep with, Oh and a car.

True Story. If you stayed a night at the Slabs. Some nights you'll hear the near by Military Base do training rounds so you'll hear the faint thud of a bomb or machine gun fire. With the hum of generators and feral cats, and the shuffling of the junkies moving about in Slab City.
You have the actual sound effects used in Fallout New Vegas.

OP - Videos that advertise Slab City as lawless are hurting us, the people who call it home. You are helping perpetuate an outright lie that attracts bad people because they assume they can get away with things here. Slab City is home to many different types of people. At our camp, we work hard to make money and support ourselves. We are building a life we enjoy living. We don’t need people who don’t understand Slab City to make up their own negative narrative and give people the wrong impression. Thanks for doing the video, but I’m disappointed in the message.

RabbitSide sounds like you are trying to make slab city out to be something it isn’t. It’s not a hippy commune or naturalist community. It’s wild and free, it’ll always be known as an escapist way of life. You have to be somewhat unbalanced to choose slab city, expect that it draws darkness and lawlessness to it, not in a way to be exploited which so bothers your harmony.....but this is homelessness plus isolation...it’s an inner city addicts daydream of space and privacy. It’s addict-Mecca. Anyone expecting anything else will be pleasantly surprised. Not the place to have your kids

Thanks for saying the truth. The slabs has turned into a shithole thanks to undesirables moving in. Ppl call it the "last free place", they think that means everything is free, food, water, pot, booze ect. And it's NOT FUCKING LAWLESS!

    • @RabbitSide
      @RabbitSide 4 роки тому +4

Anybihhhwho Said sumfin’ I don’t need to “make Slab City out to be” anything. We have lived in Slab City for multiple years now and are very well versed in it’s culture as we are a part of it. You are basing your idea of the Slabs on media you have seen and word of mouth. Parts of what you say are true, but you are mostly uninformed. You’re trying to tell a Panda what bamboo tastes like. It’s in my mouth, thanks.

So to those people saying things about the kids that grow up like this ,don't judge what's going on, as you have no idea.
I hope that the people who live at Slab City are doing well, and continue to live their lives however they want. Good on them! 😎❤️
