Hey Christian! A fantastic and fun review of Blue Hawaii 😅. I enjoyed the movie very much as the soundtrack as well. As always job well done Christian and I agree on the soundtracks vibe. Great stuff! 😁☝️👍🏻🙌😎Hello Daisy! ☺️👋👋 Hope you have a wonderful and blessed weekend my friend. 🙏😎👍🏻👍🏻 TCB ⚡️⚡️😎
When i first saw the movie premiering in 1961 in Victoria BC Canada i loved it!!!...when it came to the theatre girlfriends and i stayed from 11 am till 11 at nite...i watched it 24 times on its first run.😂 i was 13....i still remember when i saw the album at Woolworths and bought it right away and played it to death....i think ive watched this movie a LOT...just about as many times as ive seen TTWII and Elvis on Tour...Can't help falling in love was just named again as the nbr 1 wedding waltz song!!!....kool...i started my love of Elvis since 56 at 8 and met him in L.A. in 67 and 68 then saw and recorded 30 shows from 69 to 76....😊🇨🇦
Hey Barbie, fantastic story! How much popcorn did you eat that first day? Yeah, I thought we were so special using "Can't Help Falling in Love" at our wedding (sigh). Ok, I have to ask - how did you meet Elvis? How was he? How did you see so many shows, and how did you record them?
Coincidence...we have a Daisy who is less than 3 lbs and not yet a year old. But ours is a cat LOL Up here in New York it was often played during "Elvis week". The problem was that it was a 90 minute time slot so they had to edit the movies down, of course the easiest thing to do was cut some of the songs. It was a few years before I saw quite a few Elvis movies in their entirety. I heard that after Jim and Sharon's divorce, Sharon got the Blue Hawaii and Jim got Clambake and a very worn copy of Flaming Star. Sharon's second husband was jealous of her Elvis devotion and unbeknownst to her dropped it off at a charity shop. Though Jim listened to "Confidence" everyday in hopes of inspiration to get his life together but he never found love again. He's still living, with one of their children, and still listens to Confidence everyday. 😄
Hey Thomas, Give your little Daisy a hug from me! Very interesting story about the 90 minute movie time slot. Down here the time slot was 2 hours, so we NEVER got to see Viva Las Vegas because it's so short ! Thanks for the update on Jim and Sharon. I think Sharon got what she deserved - a lifetime with an Elvis hating husband. Jim was so good to her. Who knows ... maybe ... one day ...
I've just watched all your videos from start to finish and really loved them, your sense of humour is so good, so glad i stumbled across your channel, can't wait for your next video. Luv the show.
Wow Mark, I'm flattered that you watched 'em all, and happy that you're digging them. I just want them to be like we're hanging out, talking about Elvis, and hopefully having a few chuckles. Cheers !
I received this LP on my birthday ,December 21st 1961 the same day the RIAA presented Elvis with a gold award ,it was at the time the fastest selling LP.
Hi Christian, i just want to say that I like your videos. I want to comment on them but what I want to say sounds better in my mind than in writing.Great show!
Not really a dog fan but Little Daisy is a real cutie. Very nice OST with covers by many other artists too. Remember the dramatic version of Can't Help Falling in Love by Andy Williams. Notable was Anthony Perkins (actor) recording Moonlight Swim in 1957. Love the shirt.
Great video as always Christian 😀....love your layed back approach 😬 This is my favourite movie 🎬 and soundtrack....I'm getting close to 40 copies of Blue Hawaii 💙 now ....different countries and variations ! I visited Hawaii many years ago now ( 1988) ....and visited many of the movie locations 🏝 ....special place ! Would love to go back someday 🙄! Cheers Mate ( from the UK 🇬🇧) 🎙🎶🥂
Hey Paul. Wow 40 copies! I can't imagine beginning to collect foreign Elvis vinyl. I have a few, but I just stumbled upon them in bins for cheap. Do they point out Blue Hawaii movie locations, or did you just know? Cheers !
@cheapbeat-upelvispresleyvi6195 A bit of both if I remember correctly! I'm going back 35 years ago now 🙄😀! But I went to Hanauna Bay ( that they called Elvis beach ) where he lived in his beach shak! Went to the pickin site view point 👉....you just kinda know to be honest! I didn't know as much back then as I now know ! Visited Pearl Harbour also ...went out to the Arizona 😪 ! Various other places ....Aloha locations also ! Didn't have mobile phones in those days though 😕.....but got a few good pics on my old beat up camera! I love collecting different variations on vinyl....I have cut back a little bit lately though .. Cheers Christian 🎙🎶🥂
At the risk of you barring me from your channel forever more, I have to admit that Blue Hawaii is not my favourite film, nor is it my favourite soundtrack. I LIKE it, but it always came over to me as a travelogue. Elvis didn't need to act, he just played his own charming self, which was delightful, but I preferred seeing him in more serious roles where he showed emotion and provided a sense of reality to the film. The people I know who aren't Elvis fans still say they like the movie, which makes me think it was made for that purpose, to draw more people in to see the film. As for the soundtrack the only song I really love is Rockahula Baby! Can't Help Falling In Love is dragged out, bit like the song Amazing Grace which is to me a bit of a dirge😮😮
Hey Patracat. You'll NEVER be barred from the channel ! I fully understand your points. It's definitely not King Creole, but I like the lightness of it. I've always enjoyed Elvis' dramatic movies too, but I find that lately I just want to escape for a bit with his movies. Nice locations, pretty girls, some songs, and a few laughs. I love "Rock a Hula Baby" ! Cheers !
Although it contains my all time favorite Elvis recording CHFIL, the movie wasn't one of his best and the soundtrack is pretty weak by comparison to King Creole, Viva Las Vegas or even Roustabout. Just my opinion of course...
Hey Christian what cool video Blue Hawaii Elvis Presley’ Album my friend keep up cool video take care
