    Absolutely one of the most beautiful cars to ever grace the hwys - period!

      Many people agree with you, Tom. Clean lines with a bold statement with the grille and even the trunklid is correct on this design.

      You have great taste, Judd!! This was such a popular design it put Lincoln back in the sales race and sparked a niche market of close coupled, luxury coupes.

    Must be a religious experience floating down the road in this Masterpiece.
    I’d make this Mark the centerpiece of my man-cave and just sit and stare at it.
    The Mark III styling, components and assembly make it a Global Timeless beauty

      Plus, Lincoln put extra care into the assembly so it performed as good as it looked!! Buy now, as the prices are going up as more people " discovered " what you have!!

    That's one incredibly beautiful Continental.
    I guess it's one of those struggles... Having such a beautiful car and knowing that if you drive it, it's going to take it's toll on everything in a hurry.
    But then NOT driving it is too much to think about... That beauty just sitting there forlorn in the garage.
    I suppose if money was no object, someone could have a perfect original example AND a nice driver...
    Hey... It's nice to dream, huh?😁

    • @carshowreporter
      @carshowreporter  Рік тому +1

      Actually, not driving a car is just as hard on the seals, tires, brakes and even the interior if it is in the sunshine. Then again, a few stone chips really ruins a nice cruise!!!!! So, with money no object, cruise your estate with your low mileage, original jewel and cruise with your beater!!!!! Great dream, Slick!!!!!😉

      Was your Mom's Conti a 2 or 4 door? I hope you have bought lots of maga swag. Up to 50% goes to the defense fund. No, not the J6 defense fund, either. No pardons for those who fought for him and the lie he sold us on.

    I've seen this car and it's amazing. Mine would have to be triple black...like the one Elvis had! But this one is incredible.

      Triple black...Wow!!! How about a sunroof?? Don't forget the 8 track with a library of tapes.

      @@carshowreporter hiya Pam-
      I'm pretty sure that the 8 track wasn't available until '70... And the sunroof wasn't available until '71.
      But in my opinion, the 68 1/2 and 69 cars were the prettiest of the line... Especially those wheel covers!
      By the way, I'm almost certain that those wheel covers weighed something like 20 or so pounds each. They were actually balanced like a tire at the factory!
      I suppose that the "rarest" Mk. III someone could own would be a very early production (68 1/2) one in black, black interior with no headrests on the front seats, no medallion stitched into the rear seat back, no puckers in the leather anywhere in the interior (the designers meant them to be plaited to make the seats look plushier, but the quality control department didn't know, so they rejected several interiors and had them "done right") and no vinyl roof.
      Cheers...

    That's a time capsule right there!!! Mine has 55,000 miles and was a demo car for Palm springs Lincoln! Looking at the inside I can say that this is a later model 69 as the earlier ones did not have a headrest on the driver seats and all marks built before December didn't have to use red dials on the gauges as this became government regulation.

      I just checked. On a quick look, there is no regulation for the color of the dial illumination. Very interesting! www.federalregister.gov/documents/2005/08/17/05-16325/federal-motor-vehicle-safety-standards-controls-telltales-and-indicators Thaks for commenting.

      @@carshowreporter I may have misworded it. The arrows on all the gauges were red after that time because mines has white arrows and the cars made before the 69 model year up until there used white arrows and the public complained about not being able to see the arrows in direct sunlight. I will also add that the backseat if yours has it that the earlier cars or more optioned ones have a stiched design on the middle of the backseat!

    • @kurtisy6986
      @kurtisy6986 4 роки тому +1

      Also after reading the regulations link that rule got created in 1967 which could explain how my car which was built July of 68 may have had white arrows on the gauges because they barely created the rule and I think many cars were transitioning to it but some companies later than others.
