Kirk Hammet once met Michael Jackson during the filming of The Unforgiven video back in early 90s. He wanted an autograph of MJ and later MJ actually even sent one to Kirk's home. Kirk was very suprised that MJ didnt forget about it .. it's even here on youtube somewhere ... and Metallica also played Beat It and several ocassians ...
Yeah it was Michael Jackson and Macaulay Culkin riding by in a golf cart while they were filming the video for the song "Black & White" while MetallicA were filming "The Unforgiven" video in Black & White 😄
Hetfield would kick him out of Metalica for this. You cannot do outside projects. Whoever stays in Metalica stays in Metalica. Such of the rules of honor.
No he shouldn't. Metallica is his bread and butter, taking him away from that is a disaster. Remember Robert Plant's solo career? Or David Lee Roth, Freddie Mercury, Billy Corgan, MICK JAGGER, ROGER DALTREY, Scott Stapp, Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, all of them came from big bands and totally flopped when they went solo. James will suffer the same fate.
Speaking of Frantic, they should cover Frantic Disembowelment by Cannibal Corpse. Corpse covered No Remorse. Metallica could at least cover one of their songs.
That riff sounds like a little part of Lonely Is The Night and it sounds kind of like the Black or White riff, but it also shows up in a thousand other songs. Probably why they were having so much trouble trying to figure it out. 😊
Yessss!!!! I feel proud to see our Flag in the back. But we have to be careful my friend. We'd better make our comments in french next time. Legault n'aime pas ca. Il dit que parler en anglais c'est pas "cool" 😂

Wow! Just visited Halifax last september and I loved the waterfront. You guys in NS drive like there's not speed limit haha. Loved the City and Peggys Cove. Cape Breton is in our bucket's list for next year along with PEI. You're lucky not to have a Dictator as a Prime Minister who wants to turn his people against the rest of Canada. Hoping the snow will melt soon. And yes, Quebec is my favorite City too. Cheers
Metallica's concerts are just like big rehearsals, while their rehearsals are like those 20 minutes you fool around before you actually start rehearsing.
👏👏👏😄 I can join the band with my 'Moondance' to accompany the song 'in style' before grabbing my electronic guitar afterwards to contribute to the melody! 🕺🕺🕺🎸🎸🎸 I can make MJ vocals as well! Maybe I can be a member of the band too with my performance! What do you say James? Okay?
James definitely remembered earlier than he let the orhera know, I think he only rwvealed it bwcause Kirk was going to digure it out eventually. Hahaha

James is playing the riff to Volbeats Last day under the Sun.
Yes it is. ❤
That's what I thought also
them doing that song as a cover would be epic a trbute to micheal that would make him proud.
how would he know
As we all know, MJ was someone very close to metallica. He would be so proud
@@mpmarques really i didn't know that
@@mpmarquesproof?
@@wildae. MJ is alive somewhere..he faked his death
That exact riff is in Volbeat's - Last day under the sun song.
The song is my woman from Tokyo by deep purple in case anyone was wondering
Also Elton John the bitch is back
Actually sounds like “Rosalie” from Thin Lizzy, which in turn, is ironically - a Bob Seger cover.
I came here to say the exact same thing.. lol
James should make a solo album too.
I agree. He's talented enough and has got so much more up his sleeve musically.
Hetfield would kick him out of Metalica for this. You cannot do outside projects. Whoever stays in Metalica stays in Metalica. Such of the rules of honor.
He focking left the band!

He can't write without Lars.
what i love in this video? They still have fun doing their stuff after more than 40 years
(oh a flag from Québec!!! i was in Québec city last month)
Yep! Boston "Don't Look Back"
Sounds more like "Woman From Tokyo"
You keep telling yourself that.
rosalie by thin lizzy
That’s what I thought , Metallica were influenced by DP
It's the very first chord in "don't look back" by Boston
Boston - Don't Look Back
Speaking of Frantic, they should cover Frantic Disembowelment by Cannibal Corpse. Corpse covered No Remorse. Metallica could at least cover one of their songs.
I don't think they know who Cannibal Corpse is .
they end up playing Rosalie by Thin Lizzy
Boston, Don't Look Back
“Im Danish Dynamite”. 😅
New song coming soon
That riff sounds like a little part of Lonely Is The Night and it sounds kind of like the Black or White riff, but it also shows up in a thousand other songs. Probably why they were having so much trouble trying to figure it out. 😊
Shout out to Quebec being represented by the flag in the back. La Belle Province 🇨🇦 🍁

They should a classic rock cover album
I was hearing “Free Ride” by The Edgar Winter Group
Should try for a cover. And do that moonwalk too!
Black and white, huh?
James once tried to moonwalk while he was playing Beat it in 2003
Edgar Winter Group - Free Ride
Truly sound like Jackson Brown’s “Boulevard”. That James is playing.

Hetfield may not realize he played the riff from Deep Purple's "Wonan From Tokyo" and I suspect Jackson borrowed "Black Or White" from that song too.
It’s a typical standard rnb Rock n roll pattern
haha that's awesome man anyone knows where all this behind scenes videos come from? i want to watch all of them
The song is Shock Me - Kiss.
Sounds lika Rock ’n’ Roll Damnation with ACDC🤘😎
Woman from Tokyo - Deep Purple
Sounded like Start me up first, then it sounded like Woman from Tokyo and then finally like Black or White 😅
BOSTON - DONT LOOK BACK
0:22 Sounds similar to Boulevard by Jackson Browne.
Michael Jackson ❤ The Real King

Does anyone remember when this guy did an album with Lou Reed?
Where was this filmed? Looks like a Quebec flag in the background
James definitely remembered earlier than he let the orhera know, I think he only rwvealed it bwcause Kirk was going to digure it out eventually. Hahaha
Volbeat has a very similar riff
This is the riff from Volbeat. Black or White is slightly different.
Volbeat - last day under the sun.
That's the Volbeat riff. Aka the most common lick in Rock music.
Rock n roll damnation - AC/DC
Black or white intro
I think they're trying to think of Free Ride.
Sounds a bit like volbeat, last day under the sun
Exactly!
rosalie by thin lizzy
It is
That is volbeat last day under the sun! That would have been the coolest shit ever if the whole band just ripped right into it.
Free Ride! - Edward Winter group.

Actually.... That's a volbeat riff that kind sounds like a Michael Jackson song
Finally someone’s sees It 😁
Woman from Tokyo by Deep Purple or Boulevard by Jackson Brown.
For me it sounds like AC DC "Rock ’n’ Roll Damnation"
Sounds like free ride
Boulevard by Jackson Brown
