      He'll go into protective custody for sure. I hate thinking this way but it wouldn't surprise me one tiny bit that when after the dust settles and he "honestly" admits to the error of his ways, and becomes a changed man, a parole board will release him. Might be 10 or more years, and possibly a pretty easy bunch of years, cause I bet he's got names and people to call on. Doubt he'll care too much, unless his co- conspirators divy up his share between themselves and throw him to the wolves!

    How was he apparently able to set his own salary and how tf did no one notice that a local county Sheriff owned all those luxury items, more than 100 expensive cars and HIS OWN TRAIN!?!?!?!? Why did authorities allow him to continue blatantly stealing millions of dollars from their community for so many years before they decided to stop him!?!?       I came to see if anybody caught that. That would mean the average Sheriff's salary was $4000. I don't know if they meant 4 times but that doesn't seem like a lot either. I live in a small county with around 6000 people & the Sheriff makes over $70,000 a year.

      In their defense, it would be easy for him to lie to them and unless they had proof one way or another they couldn’t really argue it. He could have said he invested in stocks, he inherited money from a rich family member, etc.

    Dirtbag. He should get 25 years and his daughters shouldn't escape justice, although, he did put them in a TERRIBLE position. Basically, they had 3 choices: either refuse to take any of the money he stole and kept quiet, did what they did, or rat their father out. Again, he put them in a TERRIBLE position and didn't give a damn about that fact.
