@@theauburnfirefox8767 the gayness just keeps coming back to me I was watching season 1 of Kipo and I got caught off guard when Benson came out and when I saw toh I didn't think much of it and continued to watch the show back in January when it came out I watch Lost in Language and I started shipping Lumity but not thinking the ship would go that far then I saw Adventures in the elements and was like "yeah, ok I could see this happening". I saw the trailer for season 1 b and it was like 1 in the morning and I almost threw my phone across the room in excitement at Luz and Amity. Ah yes good times

Dana Terrace said that Luz isn't oblivious. The reason Luz doesn't realize Amity's crushing moments is because she is too focused on everything else that is going on, and that she isn't really noticing love at that moment.
I read somewhere that Luz is going to be confronting her Bisexual-ness in season 2? So that might help.

@@OlliOtter From what it appears, Amity really loved Willow as a friend. Willow appears to be the closest friend she ever had before Luz. Her parents forced her to end that friendship, bullied her into it, to where Willow grew up hating Amity for it, never knowing that it was Amity's parents that forced her to do that. I think it's easy to say after Amity was forced to severe ties with the only true friend she had, she was partly afraid to get close to anyone else. She picked friends that her parents would approve of. Friends that weren't really friends and she knew that. A lot of her petty nastiness when Luz first met her was that she was so desperately trying to be the person her parents molded her to be. Someone she wasn't even happy to be. But she didn't know at that point how to be herself, or even who she is anymore.
The best part about the development of their relationship? They never speak about their sexualities outright or make it a big deal. It's just a person liking another person, which is what makes it so special.
I think it's fine if they state their sexualities outright as long as they use the actual terms (Like in KIPO's case) especially in kids shows. I do like how they never made it a big deal and Amity's crush was never the center of the plot
Bastard I agree to some extent but I don’t believe they should say their sexualities out loud. You wouldn’t see someone running around saying they are straight so I don’t believe they should either since it’s not much of a big deal.

Bastard I believe if representation in shows and movies for the LGBT community to exist. I want them to normalize it like being straight. I believe if you’ll want to normalize something you treat it like it’s normal not something worth putting in work to do so. That’s just my 2 cents.

A) They are adorable af.
B) Unlike other shows, they don’t cram the ship down our throats or derail the plot. Lumity progresses naturally: as all good relationships do.
C) They don’t make a big deal about it. They don’t scream their sexualities or how they’re “progressive” from the rooftops for the world to hear. Dana just showed us Lumity, and went:
“Yeah. They’re girls. They like each other. It’s not a big deal.”

@@hodzal5258 she ra was amazing! First of all, we barely see any romance until season 5. Catra and adora stay Enemies with a little tension until season 5, and while there are a few moments like in promise and princess prom, it’s well done so they can continue fighting, and they furthermore help show why they fight. The plot progresses well and can be a little rushed at times, but in the end it’s such a good story with so many other amazing characters that don’t even have love interests. And everything was wrapped up in a nice bow at the end, I don’t remember there being any kind of missing piece. (Although I do have to agree that kipo was really good)

then, in the library episode, Luz and Amity are trying to save each other, then Luz jokingly yells, making Amity laugh. i dunno about you, but if someone you're physically attracted to is making you laugh, that's an instant crush.
Amity doesn’t really have a talent for magic, she is skilled from working so hard at it.

Yeah that’s why she hated luz at first for cheating and getting the easy way out and taking her star away that she worked very hard for and willow and luz didn’t
She has both since her parents push her past her limit with cruel punishments and abuse
"sent to summer camp to help control her creativity." It was more like her mom was worried that she wouldn't be able to function in society. Luz' mom asks her if she has any real friends, which at the start was no. Her mom was quite clearly doing what she thought was best for her daughter, even if it was perhaps misguided.
I think she’s just afraid that Luz would be bullied for the way she is. The whole theme of the Owl House seems to be acceptance: finding the place you belong. I think her mom was worried that Luz would never be accepted anywhere, and I personally like to believe the summer camp route was something she saved as a last resort. I don’t think she HATES the way Luz loses herself in fantasy: she just wants a future for her daughter where she won’t be ostracised for liking fantasy a lot or losing herself in her own ideas.

+Zoey Martin-Exactly. Her mom is not afraid that Luz is crazy creative, she probably loves that about her daughter. She is probably proud that Luz is fearless and unafraid about not fitting in. She's still just more of a traditional mom where she's more scared society is not going to accept Luz for who she is. She is misguided and goes about it entirely the wrong way, but it's a fear that stems from her being a mom. Moms want their children to be loved and accepted, even if they sometimes often aren't. And it breaks a mom's heart when their child has a problem fitting in.
Her mom is under the mistaken belief that Luz needs to conform in order to fit in and be accepted. But she just wants her daughter to be happy. Her world is going to be blown whenever she finds out exactly how Luz is spending her summer but once she gets past the shock of the magic witch world, the monsters, and the witch girlfriend, she will be happy for Luz and that Luz finally found where she belongs.
Luz brought snakes and fireworks to school and didn’t understand what she did wrong or even seemed sorry about it. What her mother did was understandable but sometimes the fandoms paints her out to be a bad mom when she’s not

Dude Luz is totally into Amity too. I mean the episodes after she met amity she would not stop talking to her, and in the book episode she was so desperate to befriend amity she went to her siblings. Honestly I see myself in Luz in a lot of ways (and that’s not really a good thing since she often makes me die if cringe), and honestly I acted just like Luz with my first crush (though I also acted like amity as well). This is not even mentioning adventures in elements where the entire plot is based around not embarrassing herself in front of amity, and she is talking the entire time about how she wants to be in amity’s class. I mean she doesn’t even mention willow or gus, but she is so unbelievably concerned about being with amity. I think Luz has a crush on amity but doesn’t realize it yet and thinks that amity is just someone she really really wants to be friends with.

What I like best about Lumity is that I love how they treated so casually like that it’s like any other ship like it’s simply a person liking another person. I have a feeling that there will be a tint of drama in Lumity when it comes to Mr and Mrs Blight. They probably won’t take a liking to Luz. And if they were to figure out amity’s crush on Luz. They probably won’t take kindly to it. They’ll discriminate Luz for not only being human and for being a girl, but for also associating with Eda and Lilith who are wanted criminals. If the blights threatened willow of expulsion, imagine what they’ll do to Luz. It will probably be something 10 times worse. Perhaps lock her up or exiled, or even executed. I also think with Boscha and her family being allies of Amity and the rest of the Blights, Boscha could play a bigger role. She probably will find out about Amity’s crush on Luz and use that information to her advantage and use it against amity. She’ll blackmail amity with her crush on Luz to get her into ditching Luz and Co, taking advantage of her weakness. And with the grom episode, her fear could be more than just being rejected by Luz. She could be scarred of rejection, coming out, being ostracized by society. I have a feeling their love story could be a Romeo and Juliet thing. Also cue the song Rewrite the Stars. Maybe either the Blights and/or the Emperors Coven could host a like a fancy party or something. Or maybe celebrate Amity’s birthday, for the nobility and powerful witches I mean. It could be like a masquerade ball. With Luz, Eda, and King NOT invited obviously. But the three crash the party anyways. And perhaps Luz and amity could dance together then.

Honestly Lumity is written so well and Amity's character progression is really good despite it going as fast as it is.

Amity is basically Chloé Bourgeois if her creator didn't hate her guts.
I think most of us in the fandom are just so used to the will they or won't they thing.
I think it’s cool how even though it does progress quickly, the pacing is so good that it works
I still love how in the episode where Luz goes on a “quest” she talks about whether she should be an optimistic protagonist or a broody protagonist with “black nail polish and a don’t care attitude” and while Luz fills the first Amity fills the second
Wow the wonderful person who knows their media and gay characters is tackling the gay beans in the best magic learning show
I'm all for it, but I feel like the relationship was very rushed, and it kind of ruined amity's character. But that's my opinion.

Her character wasn't just a the rich jerk who stays that for ever before randomly changing their mind, she just had some temporary spite due to her previous world kinda being shattered and from there she realized it was dumb after their witches duel and kinda forgave luz before jumping to conclusions when luz was being pressured into things then forgave luz for that since she understood the situation better, there was nothing left to fuel the hatred and crushes are usually either super dragged out or sudden irl, this relationship is oddly accurate to how relationships work, like it eould have been nice to see a bit more of that in between shift, but the team had time constraints and did well despite them

I'd rather have her ditch willow on her own choice because she thought her undeveloped magic was a bad influence, than her being blackmailed by her parents.

Eda's curse doesn't even have to be mental issues. It resonated with me because of my MS; and mine rarely presents itself by effecting my behavior.

The Grom dance scene was the catalyst for me to jump fully onto the show, before that I’d only seen clips of it and the first episode. After watching that scene a few times, the first thing I did was go and watch the entire season up to that point
Back in January when it first aired I watched the first few episodes and I thought it was a good show but at the time I was focusing on SU Future but I was watch Owl House epsiodes when they aired it wasn't something I was caught onto until Lost In Language. Once I saw that epsiode and Covention I was hooked onto the show when I saw those 2 epsiodes. The day that Adventures in the elements got leaked I was like "ok those 2 are gonna become a couple later in the show and so far I was right.

I think by “good” she meant well-to-do. I have a creeping suspicion that Mr. and Mrs. Blight have used some underhand tactics to get to the position of power they now own. Intimidation is probably the most likely method they used, going by what we saw in Understanding Willow. That position of power most likely comes with monetary benefits, so I think it’s safe to assume the Blights are somewhat wealthy. Not obscenely, but enough to give her parents an ego boost and bragging rights.
Also, they color code their kids. Amity’s hair is brown, but her mother forces her to dye it green to match her siblings.
I like to think Amity dyed her hair to look more like Azura.

You know, something that I find incredibly interesting in this series is that, while Luz is chaotic at her own school, when she comes to the Boiling Isles, she chooses structure. She's super-excited about classes and choosing a coven, which she clashes with Eda over. Of course, she changes her mind when she learns you can only do one kind of magic once you join, but... I dunno, it was unexpected, but still felt natural to me.
Also the subtext addressing religion, the way the Emperor feels like a Christian converting pagans, is super interesting. Luz: Wizard, School of...I don't know...Evocation? Everything Luz does is elemental. Of course, there's always Bard, College of Valor...BECAUSE YOU KNOW HOW DAMN GOOD LUZ IS AT PERFORMING! And you KNOW Luz is gonna be singing Azura's praises any chance she flipping gets. In fact, Bard might actually be a better choice here, because Luz, unlike everyone else, wasn't born with magic, so she basically had to learn it. Magical Secrets is basically a bard stealing spells from other classes, so that could work on a flavoring level too (since every spell Luz knows was either learned/borrowed from someone else or learned herself) It's also an excellent power build that would let Luz really take advantage of her strengths(I.E performing, persuasion, and deception, ALL of which are charisma-based skills.)
Amity: Wizard, School of Conjuration: The obvious choice here, because all Amity ever does in a fight...is make her abomination do it for her. Summon Shadow Spirit's flavoring comes pretty close, and it's only level 3, which is the lowest level summoning spells are available.
Gus: Wizard, School of Illusion. Obvious...it's the only magic he EVER does. Major Image is GREAT for a clone, as the illusory Gus will mimic the real Gus's movements to a T.
Willow: Druid, Circle of the Land(Forest) (Again, see above.) Entangle is basically Willow's trademark spell here, and the best part is, it's only first level, so Willow can start a game with her signature spell ready to go.
King: ...I don't know... All he does in a fight is pounce on enemies. Maybe he could be Luz's sidekick?
Grom reminds me of the Groke from Moominvalley. Both represent facing one's fears and can only be overcome by gay teenagers ice skating and dancing and being in love.

And I don't think it is, I haven't heard any relationship where people got together quickly has destroyed it or gotten toxic, both in real life and the internet. It can only be toxic if one of the people has toxic traits.
Actually for the most part, everything is very well paced. I think a battle with the Emperor was a little too soon, but to give the writers credit, they didn't make Luz overpowered God level when dealing with him. She struggled the whole time, and only managed to catch the Emperor by surprise because she's tapping into magic that he doesn't and perhaps can't control. And I think how they've handled Amity and Luz' relationship so far is very well done and beautifully handled. They're not diving head first into the romantic relationship, they're actually taking the time to flesh out Amity and Luz and Amity's relationship with each other. To where I can only hold they continue to handle it as well as they are.

Amity is a mix between Draco and Hermione and Luz is a mix between Harry and Ron and no one will change my mind.
I'll give you Amity, somewhat. But I feel like it's overly simplistic.
Luz is almost an anti-Harry. Everything that Harry got easy, Luz actively seeks or had to fight for. And that's not to weaken Harry, his arc is based on having these high expectations he doesn't know that he's actually worthy of. What makes Harry not Draco is not getting a big head via his advantages. Harry has the money, fame, and opportunity to become a rich brat despite what his life at the Dursleys had been like. Luz wants to be the epic hero of the magical world, but she's seen as the exact opposite. Harry just wants to be an average kid but walks into a world that wants him to be an epic hero. Luz walks into a world where she wants to be an epic hero, but the magic world sees her as incapable of even the most basic magic.
I don't see any Ron in Luz. Ron was a pureblood Wizard and mostly average in the ways of Wizardry (ignoring how goofy and stupid they made him in the films). His value to the group was in knowing all the rules Harry and Hermione didn't know and being able to explain his culture, a culture forigen to his muggle raised friends, Any comparison to Luz is highly superficial. And Willow is closer to a Ron in execution as far as how she operates in the protagonist journey.
