It is not to hard to rebuild and you can learn from my mistakes! Also like you said you will need a few special tools (definitely a flywheel puller don't bang it off and ruin the crank like i did. Thanks a lot if you get stuck or have concerns let me know. Good luck!
Need to get a set of cases, they are cast and machined together as a pair usually, using 2 odd cases could mean that the crankshaft slots for the bearings may b a fraction out meaning it cud shake itself apart or grenade again, the smallest difference is big when the tolerance is so so precise, best of luck!

you have to have two of the same cases
They have numbers printed on the bottom from the factory and those numbers have to match

Did you find anything in the case???? I'm rebuilding a WR250R. It needs at least a piston and cylinder. I'm splitting the case this weekend. The bike over heated because the water pump gear was broken. I found broken clutch plate. The broken plate must have went in the water pump gears. After seeing your video, I'm trying not to worry about the condition of things inside the case.
Matt hey man, so i did not find any loose parts or debris in this engine, it definitely was blown and then rebuilt before i bought it. Yes that sounds like the clutch piece went an jammed the water pump gear. I would not worry about anything in your cases! But since u have the motor down to the bottom just split the cases and check it out 👍🏼
You should get a hot cams timing chain and run titer springs for the clutch

I always use digital calipers on large or unusual bolts, easy $20 way to make sure you’re right
Also harbor freight has a cheap, large impact gun that’s similar to the one the shop had
Nathan Slocum i have calipers! But the battery died... just need to go get a new one it uses the little circle batteries.
Just use a caliper to measure the size no need to guess or ask

Hey remember that V Face headlamp I told you about few episodes back? It will be a very good match with the Racetech Supermoto front fender, search it up :D
Here's a trick put 2x nuts on the thread end of your bolt , lock/bind them together (the same way you remove studs ) and you now have a 14mm Allen head.

John Quackenbush thanks! I use that workbench literally all the time. Was about $90 in material and some hand tools, and wasn’t hard to make 👍🏼
I am thinkin about to buy one of theese with a gearbox failure, The guy asks 1000$ for it and I don't now if I should do this or not...
Gearbox failure? Can you get any more details what is wrong? These engine rebuilds can be expensive. Maybe better to look for another used engine
@@FULLTHROTTLEFILMZ I think not gonna buy it beceause its a 2003 yz 426, I was thinking to repair and to resell it but its not worth it at all. The parts for the gearbox rebuild can cost me over 200 bucks

And the scratch on the crank as long as its just a scratch it will def be reusable also but of you race it a lot maybe get a new crank

Absolutely lol, I have to get 80-90% of everything from USA so I pay the import duties which really adds up cost. But it is what it is.
I grew up in Mex before the use of interwebs. There isn't a fuckin chance that I could of hit the corner parts store for some sockets. You need to be buying shit stateside and bringing it across in your truck. Get setup with ups or fedex store in Laredo or McAllan and drive there once in a while. Fuck those import taxes.

Didnt seem like you used a penetrating oil or anything on that sprocket I feel like it would of helped you get it yourself

Austin Linn front wheel with oversize Braking rotor and caliper adapter. Front master and caliper. Rear wheel, brake pedal. I have new front and rear brake pads in packaging. New tusk rear brake line in package. Probably other stuff too

Owners manual has most of this info in it. Honda might have a few little things that are convenient, but they have numerous other issues and aren’t half as reliable as Yamahas are. This is well known.
I don't know if that is well known but I can tell you I pick Honda over Yamaha for many reasons especially for reliability. I've been a mechanic for years now and have seen quite a few yamahas blow up. Just my 2 cents

@@410hittaz6 will need an impact gun, flywheel puller, and feeler gauges to set valves later think that is about all the special tools u need

And dude use a file and shave down the clutch grooves those grooves are nothing compared to the used 99 kx80 I bought the grooves were like half a centimeter deep lol and i shaved them down and it works awesome def dont waste money on a new clutch

I am looking for a rear rim for 2006 crf450
I have a 2018 crf450r wheel and a 2003 cr250 wheel but both have a different rim.
I am going to research it and see if they will fit
Basic yamaha´s crank failure the conrod bearing seems exploded
anal raider i assumed a bearing let go but didn’t know which one it was exactly. Never seen this type of failure before

I was able to reuse the engine cases after all 👍🏼 new crank piston and bearings it’s good to go
