I think this may be the most unusual, imaginative and successful thrift flip I have seen! I'm in love with the couture look of the pink binding inside and I'll be looking out for jumpsuits to make into pants, which I find so much more useful for daily wear. As far as wearing the pants every day goes...just remember, it's the same number of wears whether stretched out over a decade or consolidated into a year.
It's so true! ...maybe I should just enjoy them and not worry about it. Glad to hear you liked the video and found it inspirational!! ✨
I love the idea of stitching the grid on. What a great way of being able to make your own custom fabric. And the possibilities in size and color, you could even do a kind of plaid look. Thank you for the inspiration. They look amazing.
Oh yes! How cool would a plaid look?!
This flip is amazing! And yes no shame on tutorials, I love them & use them a lot to fill in any gaps in pattern drafting or sewing…I usually have to watch a few to fit specific needs but I appreciate them all!
When dying cloth, use white enamel pots. And more water is best so the fabric can spread out in the water and receive the dye more evenly.
That pot was definitely too small 😂 I have a white enamel pot, but I would be afraid that the dye would discolor it? I think I have to do more research...thanks for the tips!
Have just stumbled onto your videos and I’ve really enjoyed them. The natural fabrics you love have a higher frequency [I imagine because they come from something living] and even assist in promoting better health - which grabs my interest as well. Thanks for the video!
Now I have watched all of your back catalogue! I love your energy and your projects! I so am subscribing, please keep posting! And you know about the trousers being too nice to wear all of the time... what if you could just wear them whenever you want to? Because every day deserves to be great and special? And you can always make more great pants, because of how talented you are! I'll leave you with that to consider. Best of luck with the channel!
Oh my gosh, thank you so much for being here!! 🌷✨ I think you’re right about the pants…every day is special and deserves to be treated as such. Thanks for the reminder 🌸
You should be proud of yourself for achieving this project. It looks very comfortable and flatering. I agree, details are important. It would be great to have a pattern to replicate them!
Great process and storytelling. A creative renewal, they went from ok to wonderful.
Even the original texture had been bumped up to another level as it's been incorporated in by your choice color palette and stitching...
It's got dimensionality now!
Keep sharing... as you are...
Thank you so much, what a wonderful compliment 😊
I love it! With the yellow shirt I find it even more stunning!!!
Thank you so much! ✨
Beautiful job. Wear them to your hearts content! The fabric quality is excellent and the fit is perfect. So why not enjoy them as much as possible. With your creativity, you can fix it if it needs mending. Great job.
Agreed. You’ve created a piece of wearable art. They look great, very well crafted.
Thank you so much! ✨
So happy to find you! I love natural fabrics, thrifting and up-cycling. My seamstress grandmother would take all store bought dresses apart and resew them😂. I hope to aquire some of her skills. Wear them as much as possible. If you gain weight they probably won't fit. TFS
What a fabulous job!! My jaw dropped when you explained that you would be sewing the grid pattern onto the fabric. Genius! You should definitely duplicate the pattern so you can make more. I subscribed a couple weeks ago and am happy to be here
Oooh yes, this is a great idea! I would love to make another pair of pants from this design...perhaps a little longer? Thank you for being here 🌷
The fabric dying was great! I have a stack of clothes I want to dye navy blue (painting the dye on is TOTALLY something I would have done, too). So impressed with with this project. Your videos are real, authentic, to the point, and short in duration. I'm a subscriber now. Thank you!
Thank you so much for the kind words!! 🤗 I hope your dyeing projects go well - I've dyed my clothes navy several times now and I'm always delighted with the result. And thank you for subscribing, I'm glad you're here! 🌷
I ❤ the pants and also 💜 your drawing of you wearing the pants before you made them!
Thank you so much! ✨ It's always so satisfying when it turns out looking like the drawing
Beautiful - the videography, the finished garment, and you, too. 😊 I admire your creative vision as well as the patience and tenacity to see this project through. Well done!
Good job! Love the color. A lot of work too, but a quality garment you'll have for a long time to come.
Amazing! There's so many points where I would have said good enough and moved on. A real quality project.
Thi sis where vintage machines shine! They have such a beautiful stitch you want to flaunt it ☺️ - nice flip!
Haha thank you! My machine is definitely not vintage...it was made in 2021 😂 I brought the stitch length down to 1.5 so that it wouldn't be so obvious that it was sewn on. I would LOVE to restore a truly vintage treadle sewing machine...one day!
re: your first video. Build Mochi a catio. It’s what I did so I don’t have to worry and my cladder of cats can safely venture out! Love you detail oriented designs!
Yes, I was looking into catios before I left! It was my boyfriend’s house and he didn’t want to make any drastic changes since he was going to be moving soon and selling the house. Back in the mountains now and Mochi has free access to the outdoors and seems happier 😊
I love thrifting content and natural fibers, so I'm subscribed and excited for what's to come! Lots of love from Denmark.
Also, and I hope you're not sick of hearing this, but you're giving major Zooey Deschanel vibes in the best way ❤
Welcome to the channel!! ✨🌷 This is the first time I’ve been compared to Zooey Deschanel, but I’m sure it won’t be the last 😂
Omg. It's something I'd have tried and given up halfway. Grt job. I love this project it was so creative. I also love a very dark rich navy blue and RL tends to carry that signature color scheme that I find so regal and yet casual, very low key high end elegant.
Fantastic job! You got a new sub ❤🎉
Thank you so much and welcome to the channel! ✨🌷
I absolutely adore this thrift flip. What a good idea to simply sew lines to create your pattern! Amazing idea! ❤
These came out fabulous❤❤❤❤I love the final result and all of your finishing details!!!
Omg, what a genius way to recreate the windowpane pattern!! I love that look and will have to give it a try. ❤
Great work! Yes, it is art!❤ Wear them everyday if you want!
Brilliant project! Sewing the grid onto the fabric is genius. I’m planning a similar project to make some Toteme inspired pyjama trousers.
Before I had an overlocker, I used the honeycomb stitch to finish my seams. 🐝
I LOVE this idea ✨ I would love to see how this turns out!
Your dedication is remarkable and I love how the pants turned out!!
Thank you so much! 😊
Great work! Really professional. I was thinking to stitch a windowpane pattern since I couldn't find the exact fabric I liked. Thank you for sharing the details.
So incredibly creative! And such attention to detail. Just wonderful ❤
Thank you so much! 🤗 ✨
Amazing concept! Blows my mind, And great video! I saw a couple of the other videos and I can only imagine how nerve wracking it must be to do UA-cam videos. You look like you’re finding your feet and feeling more comfortable. Kudos to you! 😊
Haha thank you for noticing, I am quite a shy person in real life so acting for the camera definitely takes getting used to. Thanks for being here! ✨
@@studiobonvon Great job! Keep up the good work!❤️❤️❤️
I enjoy your video style. Stay yourself as your channel grows.. i bet it's going to bloom fast!
✨ Thank you! I'll definitely continue to be my authentic self, I just hope that my audience agrees I'm being authentic 😆
I love the pants but am obsessed with all of your tops, especially the green tank! Can you show us how to make it?
Perhaps in a future video! I have to tweak the design a little bit because it's gaping at the back. That shirt was another thrift flip, it's 100% silk! Thanks for the compliment 🤗
Gorgeous! I don’t trust my sewing skills with this level of project. You did so great!
These are so fabulous. And what a great video. Love your style!
Thank you!! 🌷
MAN was this enjoyable 😮😊❤
Such an amazing idea!
They are a triumph! Brilliant concept, brilliantly executed 😍 They'll get a lot of wear, I'm sure. Well done 👏
Absolutely loved this 🤩
Fun! You might enjoy learning about/using fiber reactive dye. They are extremely vibrant, versatile, and if you do it right, they never fade.
This is so fun! Great job!
Thank you! ✨
I really LOVE these and thank you for detailing your process. Do you think you’d ever copy these to make a master pattern so you can replicate the amazing fit and not have to reserve this style of pants for occasional wear…then make multiples of them whenever you find suitable fabric & feel like having another pair? It’d be great if you made a video of this process. Love all your videos so far. Very encouraging to this sewist and upcycler
Yes, a couple people have suggested this and I think it’s a great idea! I will definitely make a video about the process if I end up doing this. I would love to have a full length pair that is less decorated and more utilitarian! Thanks so much for being here! ✨

UGH!!! Why haven’t I thought of making a grid pattern like that? I’m inspired. Thanks!!
Haha I'm glad you found it inspirational! Give it a shot 😉
Love them! Beautiful job!
Thank you!! 😊
Oh man these are fabulous!
Thank you! 😊
Well done, from concept to creation! 😸
Love your channel!
Thank you!! 😊 Glad you’re here ✨
You are incredible!!! Such great pants! 😍
Aww Dayna thank you 💕🤗
Amazing!
Great job!
New subscribe here 👋...you had me @thrift...😅. Turned out so beautiful. I enjoy your charming witty personality 😊. I'm slowly but surely turning my wardrob to be mostly linen and natural fibers and flips or made by me items. 🌻
Haha thank you, I’m glad you’re here! 🌷 I’m also trying to create a new wardrobe…it takes time but gosh it’s fun!
Great work. I love it, very interesting. Really aristic.
Double sided 1/4” tape from fabric store for matching seams. ❤Love your Idea🎉
Oooh good tip! I didn't know this existed
Super cute :)
Love the top you’re wearing here! May I ask if you made it and if so, what pattern it is?
I made all of the tops in this video! They are all self-drafted, so no patterns used. What a great compliment though! 😆
It’s unbelievable that you are only four videos in and your channel, editing whatever is amazing! Please keep the content coming! I collected nearly 300 pairs of blue jeans a few years ago and I am still hanging onto them. Any ideas what to do with them? oh and I have about 250 to 300 for inch cashmere squares that were cut from garments. Thank you love your channel!
Haha thank you so much! I have a degree in film so I had experience with editing before coming to UA-cam - it is so much fun! As far as the denim goes - here is my Pinterest board of ideas I’ve collected 🤗 pin.it/1AXHVcOFq
It sounds like the cashmere squares would make a nice blanket or a patchwork sweater! Good luck with your projects ✨
@@studiobonvon Ty! Headed to check it out right now. Have a great day 😍
You did an excellent job on this thrift flip. I agree that the inside finishing details make the garment extra special. Looking forward to seeing what you do next.
You should use these pants as a pattern so you can make another pair in a different fabric since you love the fit so much but are worried to wear them out too fast!
This is a great idea! I think I am going to try this in the future...I'd love to make a pair that is full length
Great job! What pattern did you use for these pants?
Thank you! I didn’t use a pattern, I just reassembled it and added a waistband
@@studiobonvon I see... so you can copy this pattern and use it for other projects, very good fit
😮❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You are too cute. 😊
😊 thank you!
i love your videos!!!!
😂 thank you!! I’m glad you’re here 🌷✨
Excellent job. Very welldone so much patience and perseverance. Fit is perfect (just that pockets are little too low) but an amazing job.
(I didnt find a good job like this yo comment this way) ❤
Haha yes, the pockets are a little too low (I was hoping no one would notice). But I think I prefer it that way, otherwise I think they would have stuck out of the sides too much!
@@studiobonvon you have to bend a little to reach the bottom of the pockets.... 😄
