These swimming giants are supposed to be a future succesors of Nudibranch Sea Slugs, according to the documentary series. Fun fact, some present sea slugs do indeed float and swim, like Spanish Dancer or venomous Glaucus. Perhaps in the future at some point full-on swimming slugs could evolve after all.
